Grits - French toast - pork chops - corn beef hash -- yum!!!
Veronique D.

What a sweet diner - food was excellent & cooked perfectly ... even down to requested extra crispy bacon. Waitress was super and on top of all our needs. This place is a Warrenton gem.

Great service great food. Accommodated our large party. Pancakes were bomb and the food came out fast. Cash only but atm inside

Visiting Virginia for a few days and this place popped up in my search for breakfast food. VERY glad we stopped in. Clean, good ventilation and fast friendly service. Coffee was fresh and PERFECT. Food was delicious, huge portions, and reasonably priced. Very authentic diner experience. Open 24/7. Cash only. ATM on site.

Chicken fried steak with home fries and onion rings. Blueberry pancakes, bacon, and eggs

Cute, little classic diner. The menu was what you'd expect from a diner, extensive, but this wasn't overwhelming. Prices seemed very reasonable. I was going to try the hot, open-face roast beef, but they were out so I went with the chicken fried steak with home fries and onion rings. Home fries and onion rings were perfect! The chicken fried steak was fine, probably a quick deep fry and like a chopped steak. My wife had the blueberry pancakes, bacon, and eggs. What's funny is I like a thin pancake, so these looked right up my alley, but she tends to prefer the fluffier version.

The restaurant was quite busy when we arrived, however; there was a table available so we seated ourselves. Our server came right over with menus and took our drink order. BEWARE: do not order drinks before looking at the menu because breakfast meals come with coffee or hot tea. They give a very meager discount if you do not order coffee or hot tea. Rather than just charge the 50 cent difference they charge for the iced tea. The server was a bit rude but did an ok job. I ordered the "Abigail Special." The food came quickly. The omelet was hot, but the "home fries" were luke warm. The potatoes were not fried, but tasted as if they were baked then cut up into chunks. A bit of catsup helped with the dryness of the potatoes. The omelet tasted great. The sweet tea was good. The table was cluttered with all kinds of items. (see photo) Not sure if we will return.

We have been eating here for over 20 years. Yummy food, and a wonderful staff. Very good breakfast, and a great place for a midnight snack.

All of our eggs were cooked to perfection, the hash browns had the perfect crisp, and most notably - their fries?! That crunch and potato/batter ratio was chef's kiss! Note: you can sub the salad for fruits which we both did for our Benedicts, pic not shown I would love to give this place 5 stars, but unfortunately, the service was quite slow. I ran out of water so I tried to catch the eye of every single staff member there, raising my hand, and absolutely no one looked my way. Our server eventually brought food to the table next to us so I was able to flag her down. Other than that, the place was cute and I'd come again!

For example, yesterday, I had their Peter's Special, a sandwich made from 1/2 lb of pastrami and 1/2 lb of corned beef. Except that it's not "a" sandwich, but three, all on delicious rye bread, each with its own pickle, and a small helping of slaw, sauerkraut, and a major pile of salad. It was my lunch yesterday; the remaining two sandwiches are my lunch today and tomorrow. That's three meals for $30, which, to me, is a reasonable price. The problem was that the more they do to create the food, the less flavorful it is. For example, on another recent visit, I had their Country Style Omelet. Again, it was huge and contained everything that goes into a great omelet. Except, there wasn't a lot of flavor. And that seems to be the theme. I grabbed a slice of their 24-layer cake and, again, big but not much taste beyond sweetness. If you crave a lot of food, then this might be the spot for you. However, if you prefer less and more, smaller portions with better, more nuanced flavor, then maybe try one of the other nearby restaurants.

That's how we came across Juke Box Diner. This diner has been around for quite some time. That told us that they still get customers coming in. We were here around 5 p.m. on a Saturday. When we entered, we noticed that the place was kept clean. Also, there were four booths that were occupied, with plenty of empty ones. No one works the host stand. It appears that servers are expected to greet and seat customers. To let them know customers are waiting, a buzzer (of sorts) goes off. Our server then came over and led us to a booth. We looked over the menu. I noticed that they serve breakfast items all day. Thus, I opted for a "create your own omelet". I chose to add American cheese, tomatoes, and bacon to mine. To drink, I had sweet iced tea. After taking my order, the server came back to ask me if I wanted hash browns or the cubed (not sure what they are called) potatoes. I chose the hash browns. She also asked if I wanted bread or an English muffin. I chose the English Muffin. My husband ordered a Fanta. To eat, he chose the "plain Jane Burger" with fries. Service from the kitchen was very slow. The other customers had left. We noticed that they got some takeout orders. When a worker came out of the kitchen, my husband asked where our food was. They said it was coming very soon. As for the food, my husband looked at my omelet and said he didn't think it was made properly. Still, it was okay, if not perfectly made. The hash browns were on the dry side. The English muffin was okay (not a "Thomas" one). As for my husband's meal, the burger was a bit overcooked, and the toppings were disappointing except for the pickle slices. Would we come back? Only if we're in the area for another reason. In other words, we won't go out of our way to eat here.

You could also buy fries to share and get another order and not share it. The spice mixture includes sugar. I asked for ketchup before I knew how great these fries were going to be. I might have to apologize to the fries. Even if fries are off your diet, you should try one. These fries deserve a movie of the week, a hit song and an emoji. Alex and Ani should create a charm bracelet dedicated to them. Actors should thank these fries in their acceptance speeches. The flatbreads are great too. They have thin and thicker soft ones. Sodas are $2. The signature Rosie smashed burgers are wonderful. They are $9.99 (with those awesome fries). On Wednesdays you can get a Rosie burger for $5.00 when you swipe your member card for coupons. Weekends are busier than weekdays. I wonder if Rosie fries have met boardwalk fries.
