I visited the Frost Cafe for the first time last week for breakfast. Not a lot of parking - so had to circle the block to find a place to park. Upon entering - you have two seating choices: Sitting at the counter - or a booth. No stand-alone tables. I opted to sit at the counter. I ordered up some Blueberry pancakes, plus Corned beef hash (extra crispy), two eggs (over easy) and a side of bacon, plus coffee. As always - upon seeing Corned beef hash on a menu - I inquired if it were scratch-made. The answer from the line cook was no. She then told me that at some point in the distant past - they offered scratch-made Corned beef hash - but no one ever ordered it. My guess is that is because it wasn't very good - because if you execute a scratch made Corned beef hash well - people will beat your door down to get to it... Everything was your standard diner-grade, greasy spoon deliciousness. The pancakes were tasty, the eggs were cooked properly, the corned beef hash was nice and crispy (and plentiful), and the bacon was of course tasty! Service was good - I would eat breakfast here again! #FrostCafe

Super experience having a Veterans Day breakfast at Frost Cafe. Frost has the ambiance of a legit main street cafe. Really attentive professional staff. Our orders came out quick hot and better than described. And oh yes. Delicious!

Frost Cave offers the ambiance of a small town diner, a touch of nostalgia. There were 7 in our group and we ordered everything from omelets, burgers, to sandwiches. The omelets were typical diner quality. I went with the grilled cheese, which was just ok; the cheese was not melted and the bread was not crispy. I think the specialty here is breakfast, as is the case with most diners. Since I already had an omelet for breakfast, I wasn't in the breakfast mood. If you stick with a breakfast item, you probably won't go wrong.

Reasonably priced, quaint cafe in town of Culpeper. Place was busy and casual. It's a seat yourself sort of place if area was clean or stand by it till it was. Looked like locals spot and folks outside said it was the best. Good food and service. Friendly staff. Would go again if I'm town

Simple food served with a smile. Prices were very low! I give the four stars for the value and good food. Don't come expecting anything fancy. The service was good. The atmosphere is what you expect from an old diner. Good place to drop in, get a hotdog and chips with drink. And drop 10$ with tip for the tro

I love this little diner. It's exactly what you'd expect. Cheap food that's pretty good! I ordered a fried bologna sandwich with French fries. Their French fries are SO GOOD! Nice and crispy. The fried bologna sandwich hit the spot. Their coleslaw is very creamy and I really enjoyed it! If you order a Cheeseburger, they don't ask you how you would like it cooked, so it'll normally come out well done (and if that's how you'd order it, then it's perfect). All in all, a nice little stop if you live in and around Culpeper.

I don't know if it was because I had been craving a legitimate diner breakfast or if this place is just so freakn good. Grabbed seats at the counter and got to watch our food being made. Melted butter on the griddle and heading the sizzling just made me swoon. The chicken fried steak was cooked to perfection. Potatoes weren't the best I've had but they were still delicious. Eggs were done the way I like them. My friend also ordered the half order of biscuits and gravy. So worth the price! We also got French toast and I would definitely go back for some as well. Highly recommend if you're ever in culpepper!

Food taste great. Services is good. Durning the week late morning not to busy. But Saturday Morning is busy and waited a while for food. But it is worth it. Food is yummy and delicious. I usually order Pancakes Scrapple Bacon Scrambled eggs Hash browns And I think next time I'm gunna try some corn beef hash too. But a anyways staff is friendly. Service is good. Food is fantastic. :)

Patty melt very good! Husband had great burger and fries. Heard them say this where all the locals eat. I heard a long line for morning breakfast!

This is exactly what we look for when visiting small towns. It seems this restaurant has been a staple for a very long time. No stripping down the history to reinvent something that works. It is comfortable, welcoming, and feels familiar although we've never been there before. We ordered basic breakfasts with eggs over easy, potatoes with onions. He asked for sausage gravy over his potatoes and got white toast. I got the biscuit. Just regular-ole' goodness. We sat at the bar. It was fun to watch them making the food, bantering with each other, and customers.

They don't have tables that would accommodate seven but they do have some very large booths that may work.

The interior gives upscale sports bar vibes. We chose a high top table toward the back of the restaurant. Our server ended up being the bartender too. They had $5 margaritas that night so I ordered one and we started with an order of their pierogies. There were four and they were served over a smear of their beer cheese. There were ok. I wanted more seasoning in the filling itself. It was pretty bland. For my entree I got their hot dog with chili and cheese with their housemade chips. I was pleasantly surprised to see a cheese sauce on the dog. It was pretty good. Some of the chips were pretty overcooked. The service brought this score down. I think the bartender was busy but plenty of servers were available. There was a lot of conversation at the bar. We probably should have just sat there. We missed out on drink refills, having our order taken promptly, and getting the check when we were ready to leave. Overall there were a lot of interesting things on the menu. I would want to return to see what else tasted good.

If you're from out of town and you're expecting rushed service and the immediacy of the big city, this might not be the place for you. But if you're looking for something truly special, slide up to the bar. Be patient...the bartender will be there as soon as they're done listening to Old Bill tell his story. Order a beer and a pizza and take a seat at one of their small tables. Enjoy and unhurried drink. And right about the time you're feeling like ordering a second beer, your hot, delicious, perfectly cooked pizza will be dropping out of the ceiling on a dumb waiter (yes, from the ceiling...you read that right). Smother it in locally made hot sauce (an unexpected plus), grab your second beer and enjoy that delicious pizza with someone you love, or the new friend you made at the table next to you. That being said, there's some issues with it that are hard to overlook. I'll start by saying that the staff are mostly really kind and professional. There have been one or two who looked like they hated their jobs, but everyone else has been attentive. There's not a whole lot of seating space available at this location. So, if you're trying to visit during peak hours, it might be a bit difficult. There's some outside seating available, but if it's raining or anything, it's not recommended. The chief problem I've had is with the pizza. Nevermind the fact a German style brewery is making pizzas - the pizzas themselves are an absolute hit or miss, with most of the time being misses. The pizzas are overpriced for how inconsistent the quality is. They're either just right or super crunchy and inedible. If you're ordering to-go, add 10-20 minutes to the wait time they give you and that's how long it'll actually take. If you're here for a decent brew, it's a decent brewery with a bit of a following in Culpeper and it's worth checking out. I'd steer clear of the pizzas.

There was only another party of 4 there when we entered and then another couple came in after us but it was very empty. We were greeted by a gentleman who brought waters for us and then took our orders. I ordered the Voldemort sandwich and my husband ordered the Potter wrap as well as the BlackBerry lemonade. Both sandwiches came with fries. The sandwiches were good but my husbands wrap was very small and mine was light on meat. The fries were nice and crispy and the blackberry lemonade was delicious. There was light rock music playing softly, ambiance was nice. All in all a good experience aside from the smell which was giving my husband a headache. I would probably return for dinner one night. I was trying to decide between giving this place 3 and 4 stars and opted on 4 because it's new (they have food trucks but the brick and mortar is new) and they're still getting things right and the fact that we came for lunch instead of dinner so the menu was very limited and I felt like maybe I wasn't getting the full experience.

The beef melted in my mouth and the sauce and greens complimented it well. For the main course, I got the pork ribs, which may be the best I've had in my life. They came with a tangy barbecue sauce on the side, which was delicious but not really necessary given the flavor of the pork. Plenty of food, high quality, and good service! If they just tweaked the lighting and added some homey touches, they would have a line out the door. As it was, we were the only guests on a Friday evening. A shame since Culpeper has very few excellent restaurants, and the ones that exist are generally overpriced. We will definitely be coming back again!
