Sometimes the best little gems are tucked away. My husband and I were visiting St. Louis to see our son in college, and I decided that we should find a late-lunch or early dinner in St. Charles. After meandering up and down Main Street to find nearly every cafe or restaurant either closed on a Tuesday or closed by 3 PM, I found this wonderful cafe. I had passed it once as I walked down the street, noticing their specials outside on the sidewalk, but didn't see their menu on the window! I assumed that the only thing they had available was the specials advertised. The place is very small to begin with, so it is easy to miss and feel that there may not be much to choose from. Although I did have their roast beef and white cheddar special, my husband and son chose the Shrimp Po'Boy and were delighted with their choice. I loved my roast beef and cheddar sandwich. It was essentially made in a New Orleans style press. It is not presently in the menu, so I was glad to have ordered it. My son ordered a Coconut Lime Chiller, and I tasted it (this was the tastiest frozen drink I've tasted in a while) I am sure that the next time I visit St. Charles I will order a coffee. Additionally, the pastries are good too. I bought some to take home, and just tonight had the Coconut Cream Apple Pie that is worth making an excuse to return soon. read more

My partner and I came in here a couple of weeks ago and had the best spring rolls with the most magical peanut sauce. She had the biscuits and gravy and loved every bit of it. I also had the vegetarian sandwich which I loved but will always get the spring rolls because they are just THAT good. I woke up this morning thinking about these spring rolls! So here we are... again. My partner got a breakfast sandwich and subbed the meat for avocado which she said was really good. Their chips took a few for me to get used to but I absolutely love them now. Their coffee is delicious and they were able to accommodate my caramel coffee with minimal sugar. I guess third time's a charm because that's how many attempts it took me to finally eat here (closed on Monday & too busy). This little cafe (emphasis on little) has a pretty large menu consisting of baked goods, breakfast food, sandwiches, etc. I had the Cuban sandwich, which was one of the best I've ever had. Actually there was so much meat on I that it fell apart as I ate it, but I'm not complaining. Slightly spiced homemade chips accompanied the sandwich. My children both had breakfast items, which they really enjoyed. My daughter was very impressed with her white chocolate raspberry iced latte, which is remarkable just for making a teenager happy. My only complaint is that I had to stand to eat at my "bar" table because there weren't enough stools. There's only 3 or 4 tables in the restaurant so you're pretty much rolling the dice for the opportunity to eat in. read more

We live on Main street just blocks from Frontier Perk. I always wondered why it was so crowded. Well, now I know. There is nice, big menu for breakfast and lunch as well as many pastries to choose from. The coffee is fresh and the service couldn't be beat. The order was out quickly and I received a refill on my coffee. The breakfast burrito was delicious- loved the chorizo instead of regular sausage. We will be regulars here, I'm sure. read more

Oh my goodness! This is one of those special places that you will never forget! It's a small place so you may have to wait for a table. I'll tell you this . . . . I'd wait an hour in the driving rain to get served here. We ate here twice during our stay in St. Charles and it was delish each time. From the avocado toast to the Cobb salad, from the breakfast tacos to the breakfast platter, it was amazing food, prepared fresh and hot. My wife and I also split a cinnamon and was so delicate and flavorful with just the right amount of icing. The staff was a joy to banter with, and they were very helpful. Really cute little cafe! The best part are their Cuban menu items! The Cuban meat pies are the BEST! They have a nice assortment of desserts as well. So far we have tried the guava and cheese pastry, the pumpkin bar and the cinnamon roll. The Cuban sandwich is legit! This little coffee house/eatery is a gem on Main Street in St Charles, MO. There is a nice variety of breakfast choices which also include fresh pastries and pies. I imagine the sandwiches offered are just as good as breakfast. I ordered Acacado toast with scrambled eggs. The bread was hearty, perfectly toasted with perfect ripened avocado spread to the very ends of the bread and the eggs were hot and so delicious. I opted for the in house roasted coffee with cream and sugar but there was a wide variety of coffee drinks available. Give this small business a try! read more

I have delayed posting this review because I didn't want more people to come in! Purely selfish reason. Before my last visit this may have made one of my few 5 star reviews. It is small but the tables flip fast. Out of my 5 visits I never had to wait more than 5-10 minutes. My wife says the coffee is super good and so far everything I have tried has been exceptional and worth the price point. here are the reasons I decided to give 4 instead of 5 stars. The gravy is bland and uneventful. I wouldn't be surprised if it came from a can. But the deal killer (and the reason I will not go back) is that I absolutely loved their eggs benedict. I mean to the point I craved it. But they removed it from the menu. Heartbreaking. read more
