What a charming cafe in the middle of a charming Downtown area! It was freezing the morning we went in, but I was wanting breakfast - specifically pancakes. I had this place in the bookmarks and figured now was the best time to visit. Parking can be an issues in Downtown St. Charles since it is limited to street parking or public parking a few blocks away. We found parking right in front of FPC, mainly because it was a cold, Monday morning. We were greeted immediately, and inside was much smaller than I expected. We got seated right away though, and a good chance to really review the menu. I got a house coffee (delicious), and my husband got a Purple Haze Lemonade. We ended up getting a kid's pancake with bacon and scrambled eggs, Short Rib Breakfast Stack, and a Bomb Burrito. The pancake for my 2 year old was MASSIVE so it was a good day for him lol. The short rib stack was yummy - hash browns with runny eggs and meat on top. The burrito was also pretty good. Our breakfast entrees came with a side order of potatoes and while it was good, it got saltier over time so I might not get that next time. They advertise beignets, so we might go for that next time and try out their lunch menu!
I've walked past this place many times but finally decided to stop in. It was the best find ever! They have some of the best coffee and breakfast I've ever tasted. I personally got the breakfast burrito and it was sooo good and flavorful. I'm also a big fan of their breakfast potatoes. The coffee tasted really good and fresh. There was a little wait but they do have a waitlist once you are there. All of the food came out quickly. Overall its a cute little restaurant tucked in the streets of old St.Charles.
This time of year on Main Street in Dr. Charles is so festive. My cousin and I met at this establishment for brunch. They are in a new location and it's very beautiful. The charm of the historic building is well represented. It was busy and we did have to wait to place our order. I'll give them a pass this time since there was a 5K race ending and it's a popular time of year. Their breakfast potatoes were good, but were served a bit on the cool side. I also had the french onion soup. This was very delicious and I'm picky on any soup. I think it should be a food group. It's worth a try and I hope they bring back the chicken potpie soon. That is the meal that keeps me coming back.
It's a pretty space that would be perfect for meeting a friend, quiet on a weekday morning, good avocado toast, great coffee, friendly fast service.
My friend and I came here on a Saturday for some breakfast and coffee. I got a toffee nut latte and it was delicious! To eat I got the hot honey chicken biscuit. The chicken was really good with the honey and it had good flavor but the biscuit was a bit dry. I was a bit disappointed because it was just the chicken and biscuit, nothing else. I got the potatoes on the side with cheese, bacon, sour cream and onions. The potatoes were so good and I recommend getting them with all the things on them! I brought my 9 month old and the waitress offered me a high chair and I felt like there was plenty of room around the table for it without feeling crowded.
Cozy little breakfast and lunch joint. I had the omelette, my friend the tomato soup and grilled cheese. Soo good!
Beautiful space, decorated well and a very friendly staff! We ordered a couple of breakfasts and my wife's poached eggs came out hardboiled. The serves were great and took care of it, including having one of the redone eggs have to be redone again! My wife was so embarrassed, but they insisted on redoing them u til they got them correct (cooked, but runny). They laughed and joked with us and made the entire experience great. Good was all tasty and a good value for the price and environment! Would love to come back and try more options and see the servers (Megan and Jen) again!
I didn't know about this restaurant, but was definitely impressed. An eclectic and tasty selection of breakfast and cafe items. Worth checking out!
Cute little place, limited seating. We got there around 10am on a Sunday, were seated quickly. Good menu selection, ice latte was excellent. Breakfast sandwich was good, but needed a sauce or spread. Belgian waffle was excellent. Would definitely go again when we can sit outside on the patio.
This is THE BEST place for breakfast/brunch in St Charles. Come at me... Seriously though. The food here is wonderful. Full of creative, scratch made signature dishes, created with QUALITY ingredients and delivered to your table with great service. I can't get away from the bomb burrito. Eggs, cheese, chorizo, and beef short rib meat. Soooo good. Served with the house potatoes, which are very simple, but prepared to absolute perfection!!!!! Now they're frying them in beef tallow. Yes. There's only a couple of places in StC that care enough to do this. No crappy vegetable oils here!! It's a somewhat small space, and can get busy at peak times on Fri, Sat, Sun, so be aware of that. BUT ITS WORTH THE WAIT!!!! The coffee drinks are also on point lots of great options to add a latté or cappuccino to your meal. Great place, usually our first choice for breakfast or lunch in St.Charles.

After reading many positive reviews for this, charming gem, I had to check it out for myself, and boy! Let me tell you, every review was absolutely spot on! This place is charming, quaint, has an upscale ambience that makes your breakfast or lunch experience all the more enjoyable. The staff were very friendly, fast and efficient. The food was above excellent, cooked perfectly. This place earned 5 x 2 thumbs up-satisfaction guaranteed!
After a long walk at Frontier Park the next best thing is eating at this cafe. Upon walking in sultry , well lit and calming environment. Seated quickly at bar for my me date breakfast. Staff friendly. I ordered Coffee drip and Chicken and Waffles. Delicious. Slow service but well worth the wait. Coffee hot and steamy, chicken tender and seasoned well , waffles soft and moist and breakfast potatoes cooked thoroughly. Prices reasonable and menu options are plentiful. Great meal and kudos to the chef .

CanNOT say enough good things about this place! First off, I got the Pumpkin Pie Latte and it was PERFECT! I usually ask for 1/2 the flavoring because at a lot of places, these type of drinks tend to be overwhelmingly sweet. This one was NOT. Hubby ordered the Honey Hot Chicken Biscuit and it was OH SO GOOD! I had to try the Meat Pie and I definitely should've ordered TWO. Also, very good! My one complaint? They need to be BIGGER, so more folks can fit in!!! Service was GREAT even though they'd been slammed after a marathon finished up. This place is just GREAT! Will be back. read more

We really enjoyed our experience here. The food was delicious. I had the Hot honey chicken biscuit and potatoes. Great combo. My wife had cinnamon pecan roll. Very tasty. Service was friendly and very helpful. The interior is a little bit small but very clean and comfortable. We will come back for sure read more

Chicken salad sandwich (on large croissant) is sooooo tasty! Atmosphere in this breakfast/brunch/lunch/coffee place is small and cozy...sometimes you might have to wait for a table if you wish to dine in. Employees are friendly and helpful! read more

We had breakfast here. And the people were nice. I had the avocado toast with two eggs over easy. Hubby had the chicken strips and waffles. Amazing food and nice view of the Mississippi River. read more

The cutest brunch spot when you're in St. Charles! Megan was phenomenal! She was super sweet and helpful because there were so many great options to choose from. I give this place and the service 11 out of 10! Thank you for a great experience. read more

Went to the new location, which provides much more seating and is very nice inside. "Alex's breakfast tacos" were delicious! I look forward to having them again. I also love their coffee, ordered a caramel macchiato but they have seasonal options such as the coconut matcha latte and lavender bliss. I only gave 4 stars because I feel they haven't gotten the staffing and service times down to smoothly operate their new table service style. The staff were very kind and apologetic about the wait and were doing what they could! read more

My wife needed some spices at the spice shop next door and it was very busy, so I popped into this little cafe instead because I smelled coffee. I didn't really look at their menu much because when I looked at the menu board, my eyes immediately locked on Cubano. I hadn't had a Cubano in quite a long time so I had to order it. It is very strong espresso with lots of sugar. The price was good, but I did think there could have been a few more sips in there. I realize it's espresso so you don't get or want too much, but just a little more would be good. There was just about enough sugar added, but the coffee was just a little bitter tasting. The staff was nice and it was a nicely decorated cafe. I'll have to stop by again sometime to check out some more menu items. read more

I really don't understand the good reviews on Frontier Perk Cafe. This place was terrible! We did a takeout order of a cup French Onion Soup. We received 3 ounces of soup! I measured it because I couldn't believe it. We called them and were told that their cup size is 3 ounces! We also ordered the brisket grilled cheese which didn't even have 2 tablespoons of meat on it with little cheese. The Shrimp Po'boy we ordered had lettuce, 4 small pieces of shrimp, with a thin slice of a rotten tomato! On the Po'boy chips was a black hair! This was by far the worst meal I have ever had around not only St. Charles but St. Louis! The manager/owner my wife talked to about the soup should be ashamed of what we were given, and yet he wasn't. Wish we didn't leave a good tip in the jar on top of this bill! Spent almost $50. total on this! read more

Frontier Perk Cafe is something I have wanted to try since it opened. Unfortunately, with their hours being 8a-3p Tuesday through Sunday, it is a bit harder to get there, but I can understand why those hours are needed due to the dedication to the fresh drinks and eats. Upon walking into the cafe, you are greeted with a warm hello. The cafe itself holds an eclectic but new age feel being in Historic St. Charles. It was clean and had the aroma of fresh coffee being made. The ambiance created due to natural lighting and rustic wood reminded me of being in a peaceful cabin. Now, we get to the important part: the food. The front counter had quiche, pastries and meat pies to choose from. What I wanted was no longer on the menu (the lavender latte), but when I asked, they were still able to make it but it was not listed as they are making changes and updating their menu. I also ordered the bagel and lox that comes with cream cheese, smoked salmon, capers and pickled onion. I ordered a breakfast burrito with potatoes and a cold brew for my husband to go for his lunch later on. The wait was 10 minutes for everything. Not only did it take no time for my order, everything tasted fresh, the bagel was still warm, and you could tell the pickled onions were made recently because of their crisp and sour punch. The lavender latte was warm, creamy and felt like a hug. The price point for Frontier Perk is affordable to average, depending on what you get, for the fresh ingredients and dedication to making their food perfect. For 4 items, I was able to only spend $35 (that included a $6 tip). The only thing I would change about Frontier Perk Cafe is that they were open later so I could enjoy their amazing food any time of the day. I will now be recommending this place to anyone I know who is looking for a fantastic and welcoming brunch or lunch spot when visiting the St. Louis/St. Charles area. read more

Found this place on Yelp and decided to try it with my daughter. I've never seen a place with a 5 star rating with 50+ reviews so I knew it was going to be great. Food was outstanding and the service was great as well. We had the biscuits and gravy and an order of pancakes and bacon. The menu has lots of variety and I saw the chicken and waffles being brought out to another table and it looked amazing - that will be what order the next time. It's a family run business which is great because I always like supporting a local establishment. You won't be disappointed! read more
A picture really can't capture how tasty the dishes were at Frontier Perk Cafe. They had a good variety in drinks and food as well as bakery/pastry items. We ended up getting their cappuccino, iced cafe latte, omelette, short ribs poached egg, and Cuban sandwich. Every single item was amazing. We were all exclaiming how this tiny cafe produced big flavors. Even though I don't normally drink coffee, I was so impressed with just a few sips of their latte. My family (coffee lovers) kept remarking how good their drinks were. We will have to be back for their Cuban pies (which were sold out by the time we were there). My only complaint was that the store itself was really quite hot, so for our baby's sake, we chose to sit outside and eat quickly before it started raining. I think a few nice fans inside would have helped keep the patrons sitting comfortably inside on a raining day. Otherwise, we had an amazing meal. And we will be back! read more

It's been closing in on a year since I happened upon this gem of a restaurant and I haven't stopped going! And every time, the food has been consistently outstanding. I've never left hungry. In fact, this has become my daughter and my go-to every Friday for breakfast/lunch! My favorite menu items are the grilled mahi-mahi tacos (you will notice be disappointed)-3 tacos chock-full of goodness and flavors and textures. They come with a side of house made chips. I also recently found a love for their homemade chicken pot pie. It's a creamy, delectable dish with a light, crisp puff puff pastry on top. My breakfast favorite is their eggs Benedict. If you like eggs Benedict, you must have theirs and if you haven't tried but would be willing, you're not going to be disappointed. They make the hollandaise fresh for each order, the poached eggs are always perfect and the ham is thick and flavorful. On the drink side, their Strawberry Dream smoothie is a hit and their coffee drinks are wonderful! read more
