I was provided the option to change my service to a faster speed when my apartment complex was acquired by another property management group. However, it seems as though I was being overcharged by Frontier for slower service and charged twice the amount for services. Now, I am not able to be REIMBURSED for the amount I have been overpaying for my stay at my place of residence and for this to be a service created by my apartment complex and the service provider only allows for miscommunication and then for both teams to acquire payment. Was promised within 24 hours, then 2 weeks and now it's been put off again. It is nearly impossible to speak to a real person and when you do, it's obvious it is an overseas call center. After moving to a new area, Frontier DSL was the only option. After scheduling an in-person required installation, I was surprised by the bait and switch that I got trapped in. When I searched my address in their system, it said typical speeds were 110mbps download and 7mbps upload, but boy was I surprised when I was told that 18mbps download and 1mbps upload was the provision my home was given. While the installer was completing the install, he stated that if I just call and request an increase that it would be raised to the maximum, which is 90mbps in my area. After spending over an hour on the phone with the customer service representatives and another hour on the chat with them, I was transferred 5 times, and was told that there is nothing they could do. If you have ANY other option, stay far away from Frontier! read more

Shadiest company I've ever worked with. Zero transparency. Scammed us with the autopay deal. Apparently, it had to be set to autopay 28 days before the bill was sent out but we opened a new account only 20 days before the autopay deducted, so it was impossible for us to get the discount. Best Internet ever, especially if you want your Internet to cut out every single day. I would have to reset the router every day, some time multiple times a day, and if that didn't work I would be constantly on the phone with frontier trying to get the Internet to work correctly. I had frontier internet for 9 years and not one day did I think this is good Internet. The internet would stop working for weeks on end and they would not give you credit for the days without unless you called and asked for it and then it was still a battle. The internet barely ran 2 TVs without lagging or loading and 2 Cell phones, we would normally turn the WIFI off our phones so the TVs would work, meaning we would not have service on our phones because we relied on wifi calling. I also have security cameras. The internet would not support the cameras, even after calling for help and having someone come out and check why the Internet would not support the cameras, the tech could not explain why the Internet wouldn't support the cameras and the lag in the TVs. The only reason I had the Internet for so long is because frontier owns all the lines where I live and then Starlink came around and we switched over instantly. Everything works great and correctly since switching over to Starlink. I also returned my equipment and they charged me $200 fee for not returning it even though I have the tracking number and paperwork showing I sent the equipment back. I will never use Frontier even if it was free! The disrespectful young man who came to my home today, after 2 of his colleagues came about 2 months ago. At that time I was interested and told them that and thought I would hear from them but got nothing. Fast forward to today and told him I was not interested and his response was, "I'm not interested"...excuse me I said and "he said I'm sorry did I hurt your feelings" and then shoved his tablet at me like nothing was said. I honestly regret going to Frontier Internet .. we should have stuck with spectrum! I had them for 3 months and had nothing but problems every bill cycle. Now my internet is off for the next 24 hours because they are stating "that's just how it is..." any other company will have your service reconnected IMMEDIATELY. When people work from home, it is extremely inconsiderate to have them wait 24 hours for their internet service to be restored without any real reason for that time frame! The service sucks, the automated billing system generates what it wants, it's extremely difficult to get the robots off the phone to a real person, they do not have 24hr customer service, and even escalation to a supervisor my issues still weren't resolved. It's pretty terrible, but I had Spectrum before this and called them so much, I felt like we were related. So, it may be a tie between Spectrum and Frontier for this area. The worst part is, how easy it is telling you that your devices may be down for 3 or 4 days...or they can't predict at all, when your equipment will be back online; up and running. They don't provide you with compensation for the days you couldn't use the service, nor do their bill stay consistent, yet they sure will bill you on time every month. We cancelled service for my mother-in-law. She was moving to a new apartment in the same complex. The managers told us they had had trouble with Frontier technicians doing some prohibited things in the main cable boxes at the complex. We called and cancelled service 5 days into a new billing month. That went fairly easily. Frontier still wanted to charge us for an entire month's service even though we cancelled 5 days into the new cycle. Some nonsense about once the bill was generated they would not offer any credit or prorated billing. I threatened to leave bad reviews everywhere I could and the service rep got permission from her supervisor for a "one time credit". To be fair the rep was very helpful and friendly, just bad company policy. read more

Wanted better speeds so they sent me these stupid boxes that didn't improve my speeds at all. Then when trying to cancel service they still charged me for the month and said they were able to do so because of terms of service. Now they want to charge me a $50 restocking fee just to send the back on top of paying for all the shipping myself, if I don't they said they'll charge me $100. Customer Service waisted my time for over a hour before they would even. I strongly advise not using this service as it has been the worst experience I've ever had not only with internet providers but out of any service I've ever had. Frontier is a staple of the community providing technical jobs and much needed high speed internet service to rural areas, nursing homes, large and small businesses, etc. For some reason they just cant get it right. Im not sure if its business culture or what the deal is. Here was my experience leading up to today: 1. Noticed service vehicles and fiber optic line close to my service location 2. Called and confirmed fiber is now available in my area (how did I not get notified as a customer or a potential new customer? Issue #1) 3. Sales person setup the appointment then at the end of the call told me to call back in and cancel my current service. What? I have to call again? You can't cancel it with the switch? No, different department. (Issue #2 ridiculous but okay) 4. Call in to cancel, customer service says no that not right you will loose your phone number if we setup service this way. (Issue #3). On the phone for a little over 2 hours while the representative corrected the setup from the first call (2 hours and they needed me for about 10 min out of the entire call. Business culture fail for sure). Whatever I am slightly frustrated but I am getting fiber so Im over it. 5. Install day comes 4 hour window I take off work to manage pets during install. Wait... wait... wait.. wait.. 15 min before the install window closes a tech calls and says oops the contractor that ran the fiber line messed something up and cant install today will need to call the contractor to fix. You are in our system dont worry..... Okay are they kidding. Dont blame a contractor because someone signed off on it, someone sold service for something that doesnt work, the installer was late so who knows was it actually messed up or did he just want to go home? I have no idea, but I was polite and thanked him for letting me know. Lots and lots of issues here. 6. Waiting.... waiting... waiting.. a few weeks go by and I call customer service. Another 1.5 hours to hear.. the last comment on the account is awaiting the contractor to resolve the issue. Come on guys I bought service from you I could careless if there is a contractor involved. Honestly, mentioning a contractor is pointless cause its your service you sold without it being ready. Again, respectful and appreciative of the persons time and call ends. 7. Waiting... waiting... another week goes by and finally a call the contractor has resolved the issue (again Frontier issue not sure why they are passing blame here) and can be schedule. Rescheduled install for a few days later. 8. Take time off work again for the afternoon window 1-5 and make plans for around 6pm. Waiting... waiting... waiting... 4:45PM I call support and explain this is the second time we are down to the last minute with no communication and no technician. Customer service says they have tried to re-dispatch and transferred to a different technician, but the field office will need to contact you in the next 24 hours to setup the install. I ask is there any chance to complete the install tonight? I just need to know so I can move plans. Customer service responds no we are outside the installation window. Okay, hopefully get an install tomorrow. So I close the call get ready and leave. 9. About 45 min from home my home security camera goes off with a notice that a person was detected at the side wall. No front door knocking, no calls, only an automated text I didnt see while driving that your technician is on the way at like 6:30PM. Resident explains the purchaser is not home any longer and was expecting a call to reschedule. Technician says he will be back tomorrow morning to complete the install. I want to be happy with the service and really appreciate all those workers in the community that support this company, but if you read the above there isnt a single thing they got right. There really needs to be a fundamental change from the top to the bottom. The culture change in any company everyone knows comes from the top, so dont be blaming the service men blame the managers all the way up for letting such poor service continue. I dont know what else to say. This experience was horrible and I never ever write reviews but people need to read this. If another company ever opens with similar service as a true competitor, this company is gone if they stay on this path. I don't want to see that and neighbors that work for them loose jobs. They also had me waiting two days for their technician to arrive and they never showed up. When it works, it's good and fast enough for my needs. The primary issue with this service is that the company has too many things that have to be done before the service desk gets the issue in front of someone who can correct the issue. There are very few who know what they are doing. Before a connectivity issue is resolved, you'll be down an entire week waiting on hardware to arrive. Once received, you'll go through the entire troubleshooting process again. Eventually you'll be dispatched to a tech so you can wait days for the tech to arrive. Reporting an outage to someone who can resolve it is blocked because they have processes that do not accurately show where the issue is. I'll eventually get a text message that there was a known outage and everything has been restored. This has been recurring for 3 weeks steady now. Once someone resolves the root issue I'll likely go a year without an issue. The service desk is worst than it's ever been with people that cannot explain what they want done - it's like they are all new and have a weak grasp of English. If one gets frustrated, they can get a little aggressive while still repeating the same non sense that has everyone confused to begin with. Usually it's because they are reading a script that they cannot relate to what they were told is going on. Giving insight to save time is of no use. They try to sell upgrades during every contact - it's easiest just to let them do the sales pitch and say no. Oddly, when you will feel valuable is when you have given up and you decide to switch companies. I only stay because the time it takes to get Internet restored is about the same of what it takes to switch to another company. Every troubleshooting call makes me question if other providers are just as bad - when I move I definitely will use another provider. read more

Take my advice (35+ years in the media) don't rely on Frontier for any type of service. They are awful. I won't go into too many details (the list seems endless) but they seem to like scaring people into paying them after you cancel service. They've been harassing me for money I don't owe them (I have proof): threatening to turn the unpaid balance over to a collection agency. I wonder how many people have paid just to get them off their back. For them, I plan to consult with an attorney about a possible class action lawsuit. We've been with Frontier for almost 5 years here in SoCal. They've gone from good, to questionable, to WTF? Their tech support is completely OFFSHORE, which means you have to deal with people who, in most cases, can barely speak English. Our land-line has been down for at least 5 days. I've been on the phone with them 3 different times, and their on-line diagnostics seem unable to solve anything. Today, the customer service rep realized the insanity of our not having a phone line and was able to get a "service ticket" generated. The bad news is that it's going to be almost a week to get a technician out to the house to fix it. Why do people put up with this? Why do you have to go through the agony of multiple days elapsing before they approve you for a technician, and then have to wait multiple days until they come out to fix it? Absolutely horrible customer service. I live in a small studio apartment where the address is 348A. A new neighbor moved into the main building (348) and the new neighbor accidentally turned my service off. Within the last week, I got multiple emails about my service getting shut down. However, it was full of spelling errors and did not use my correct address, so I thought it was a scam. I even got a voicemail, and when I googled the number it told me to call back, Google told me it was a scam number. For the past 24 hrs, I've been trying to get my service turned back on, but it has been one of the most difficult customer experiences I've ever had. I had to talk to 10 different people today. The third person I talked to told me my service would be back on 4pm, but when I tried to sign into the MyFrontier app, it told me there was no account that was associated with my email. Called frontier back (AGAIN) and they told me they needed to send out a technician and that he wouldnt be available until Tuesday, four days later. I never once asked for my services to be turned off, but Frontier did it anyways without my conformation. None of my equipment had been touched, as I've been a loyal customer with autopay for 3 years. There is nothing for the technician to set up, because it's done already. Turning my service back on should be as easy as pushing a button. How was my neighbor able to cancel my internet service without Frontier asking me first? And why is it taking them so long to turn my service back on? Fuck this company. Switching to Spectrum on Monday. Sucks because almost everyone on my street switched to Spectrum, and when the Specturm employee knocked on my door a year ago to get me to switch too, I fought tooth and nail to keep Frontier. Worst customer service ever! We recently got all new internet equipment installed that was supposed to improve our internet speed and reliability. Instead, ever since the new equipment was installed, our internet service has been far worse. We never had a problem with the old equipment. Calling customer service is a nightmare! You can't speak with anyone in the USA because all the customer service jobs have been farmed out to the Philippines or India. Our Ring Doorbell depends on the internet to operate. Our internet is down more than up so most of the time we don't know who is at our front door. If we are using a website and the internet goes down, we lose what we were doing on the website. I have never had a problem using my personal cell phone in my house. But now my cell phone doesn't work with WiFi calling. I have to take it off WiFi so my cell phone will work. I do not recommend Frontier Internet!! Lousy service, no customer service in the USA. We have to wait one week for a service technician to come check our equipment. That's just unacceptable! We depend on this service and we will probably look for a better provider. read more

I called and requested internet service. I waited 2 1/2 weeks for my installation appointment. No, one showed up, after being on the phone for hours they finally said, no one was coming out due to an error and something not being entered into the system. They made me wait another 2 1/2 weeks for a new appointment... now my new appointment has come and they are telling me the same thing and a tec wasn't going to be sent out again. And apparently there are no supervisors on had to speak to because they "work from home" and will take a couple days for them to call you back. read more

Absolute waste of time. Signed up for service in December of 2024, they came out to install fiber service but could not do it because the utility pole was not close enough to the house so they would have to due a buried line. Said they would be back in early spring once the ground thawed. I thought ok, that is reasonable. Spring came and went, never heard from them so in late April I went online and set up an appointment, got a text from them saying someone would contact me soon to confirm appointment. Again, never heard from them. Called them in mid May and after spending about 30 minutes on hold and trying to get through the automated system I finally got to a live person and set up an appointment for the next week. I had to change the appointment the day before so again I called them and had to deal with the same horrible automated system and after about another 30 minutes got the appointment changed to the next day. Sat at home for the 4 hour window they gave me and surprise, no one showed up. Called them yet again and spent 20 minutes on hold, finally got a rep who then put me back on hold "for a minute" while she looked up my info and after about another 10 minutes got a completely new rep so I had to start all over. Just told them cancel my account and refund me the money I had paid 5 months earlier for installation, the rep then had the nerve to try to offer me 3 free months of service. Told him to shove it where the sun does not shine and that I would not sign up for the service again even if they offered me free service for life. 5 months of waiting, absolutely horrible communication and when they did communicate it was shit excuses or missed appointments. DO NOT sign up any of there services. read more

Half the price of the much slower internet I was currently paying for. Fast forward 6 weeks, at least 20 hours of dealing with customer service, either on the phone or online, now 50 hours in total waiting at home for their techs to show-up and about 100 different lies from people there and today, got canceled on again by a tech that says he doesn't have time to make it. Every single person is incompetent. It's actually pretty amazing. Absolutely horrendous company. Avoid at all costs.
