Best decision we made for lunch inside Dollywood (during our last Month's visit). From the warm welcome at the door to being seated right away, Front Porch Cafe set the tone immediately. Even during a busy lunch hour, service was fast, friendly, and welcoming. Our server, Candice, was fantastic--personable, patient, and genuinely helpful with menu recommendations and her personal favorites. We started with the fried green tomatoes with mozzarella, balsamic reduction, spicy tomato jam and basil--so good as in GOOD. The mozzarella adds a fun twist, though I could've used more fried green tomatoes. For entrees, I ordered the country-fried chicken breast, which was perfectly fried, moist, and tender. The mashed potatoes were divine, and the pickled tomato and collard greens were outstanding--hands down the best collard greens I've ever had. The sawmill scallion gravy (though also delicious) was optional; the dish didn't even need it. My cousin had the vegan steak with sweet potato purée, red onion marmalade, and roasted mushrooms, and wow--shockingly delicious. You'd never guess it was plant-based. After trying a bite, I almost regretted my order. We were completely satisfied and had to pass on dessert (though peach cobbler and banana pudding were tempting). A must-stop for lunch in Dollywood. From the service, to the food, and the clean bathrooms and dining area, this place deserves a five star rating. read more

My family and I visited Front Porch Cafe during our time at Dollywood. We really enjoyed our visit. When we first arrived we were greeted by the hostess and seated promptly. We were then greeted by the waitress. Our waitress was very helpful when we had questions about the menu. I ended up ordering the chicken club sandwich on the butterfly shaped pretzel and French fries. The sandwich was fresh, hot and the tasted so good! The only complaint I have is that the pretzel bun did not stay together. My husband and daughter enjoyed the chicken fried chicken with greens and mashed potatoes. My grandson had the hot dog and french fries. We all enjoyed our food. The resturaunt was very clean and everyone was hospitable. read more

Fried chicken sandwich with side salad was delicious. Service was kind of slow. They were out of tomatoes so no fried tomatoes for us.

For amusement park food, it was as expected. On such a hot July day, we needed to have an air conditioned, sit down place. So Front Porch Cafe, it was! A bit of a wait on the porch but actually not as long and not as crowded on the inside. I ordered the Country Fried Chicken Breast. This was a crispy buttermilk fried chicken breast with creamy mashed potatoes, topped with house-made sawmill scallion gravy, pickled tomato and collards. The chicken breast was not dry so that was a plus. The gravy was bland and tasteless. Collards were okay. He ordered the Butterfly Chicken Club and when it arrived to the table, we were both impressed with the butterfly-shaped pretzel bread. The sandwich was standard with a grilled marinated chicken breast, smoked gouda cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomato, and a chipotle aioli spread. The plate came with fries. The women's restroom had only one toilet and the sink was also in the stall so it took longer than necessary while waiting. Front Porch cafe was a lovely 'reset' stop at Dollywood. My son is on the spectrum, and it was the perfect place to take a break, have bathroom nearby, and get some food. The staff is kind and there will be a wait, but it's worth it. It's also a warm spot to rest when it's super duper cold outside. The food selection is pretty diverse and of course they have sweet tea (wish sweet tea was served everywhere in California too lol). However, just a heads up that the chicken wings are like bite size wings to chair at the table. Rather they are two large full wings lol. Yummy! But, we ordered thinking they were party wings and everyone would grab a couple and that wasn't the case. We also ordered their cauliflower appetizer and that was good. The green tomatoes are a must crispy fried with 1/2 of them have mozzarella in them nice balsamic drizzle. They did not have a lot of options for gluten free which was a bummer. The service was awesome!!!! The food was ok. They did mess up my order and fixed it but were out of some of the ingredientsand we weren't told. So when the order came it was just left off. They need to be better about telling customers instead of charging them for it and just not including it. Once again service itself was awesome but the kitchen and management need to communicate with the servers. read more

Front Porch Cafe sits inside Dollywood theme park not too far from the front gates. There can be a wait any given time depending on park capacity when you're there. It is quaint and feels like a small southern restaurant. We needed to accommodate a gluten allergy in our party of 2, and this was recommended as one of the better options in the park. The park does label many items as "GF" for "Gluten Friendly", however I'm not confident for all of those items to be actually gluten free or free from gluten contamination. Service was fine, our server was polite. We had a relatively light check, we both ordered the southern strawberry lemonade with a water also (it was hot in the sun!) and appetizers. I ordered the smoked chicken and bacon chowder from the specials sign on the table, and my friend with the gluten allergy ordered the hot pimento cheese appetizer (marked gluten friendly). We did let our server know it was a gluten allergy. Both dishes came out quick and both were delicious! The soup was actually one of my best meals on Dollywood resort/park property of the week. The pimento cheese was also tasty and there was no gluten reaction indicating no contamination occurred. Better actually gluten free options would have been nice. I also tried the special dessert, eggnog bread pudding. This felt overpriced and underwhelming. I love eggnog, I wait for it every season, and this was just a fine bread pudding. And it was fine! But I wouldn't have ordered it if it was more accurately described. This is probably typical theme park experience, overpriced and fine food for a reprieve from the sun and standing/walking. 12/4/25 Cup of chicken bacon chowder $10.99. It was delicious; not enough of it for price. I say cup because it was in a small bowl not half full, about a cup. I asked for cornbread to go with it. I was told they have no bread of any kind. Husband chose turkey stack $17.99. It was turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes and green beans. The quantity dished up was more like a child's plate. Neighbor table had same dish but it was plentiful portions. Good price for this plate if it weren't very stingy on portion. Needless to say we both left hungry. read more

It was lunchtime when I arrived at Dollywood and Front Porch Cafe is located near the entrance. It is a table service restaurant and fortunately there was no wait. Among the entrees the Tuscan Chicken was listed as a favorite for $20. The food arrived less than 10 minutes later and immediately I thought I should have ordered a sandwich instead. The presentation of the food looked poorly on the plate. It had boneless chicken pieces covered in a cream gravy over mashed potatoes with carrots and sliced cherry tomatoes. Yes I thought it didn't look good on the plate but the taste was better. The cream sauce on the chicken was good tasting along with the tomatoes. Honestly, for theme park food it was ok. Nice to get a chance to sit down and relax for a bit. The dishes are decent and the service was very good. We were told a 15-20 minute wait and we personally felt that was underestimating since there was a long line but almost exactly 15 min later we got the text that our table was ready. The wife ordered a Tuscan chicken which was actually very tasty and oddly they just put about six medium sized tomatoes on the side. They weren't prepared in anyway, they were just there like you just picked them yourself. I got the chopped salad and added the chicken. The salad was good if you get extra dressing. 100% pass on the chicken though. It was extremely dry and had no flavor so it's best to just pass on it since it's almost inedible. My son got the chicken sandwich that just had a little dripping of sauce on it. If it had lots more sauce, it would be considerably tastier. Daughter got the hotdog which was as expected. We also got the fried green tomatoes which was a first for me. They were pretty darn good to be honest, but I don't have anything to compare them too but I totally enjoyed them. All in all, it was $77 and we walked out full and happy. Probably would have been just as happy hopping around to the individual booths, but then you can't sit down and recoup. read more

We had lunch at the Front Porch Cafe due to a recommendation from one of the staff at the ticket book line. We were pleasantly surprised and the food was great quality, taste was outstanding , and I think the cost of the entrees was reasonable especially since it's an amusement park. My friends had black bean burgers and I had the fish and grits . It comes with a bean-ish type side and greens ( I held the greens back since I don't care for them) the portion size was perfect. Just enough and I had a few bites left on my plate . The fish was perfectly cooked , light crust , not greasy, and I loved loves the beans. The grits were great and very homemade tasting I considered bringing an order to-go order to take back to my air b&b . The waitress was beyond sweet and attentive . Definitely disappointed in the vegan option at Dollywood, overall, not just at the Front Porch but I was so upset by the time I got here that I had to complain to someone so our server brought out the "head chef" who gave less of a hoot than anyone. Our server ended up not charging us for the fries. Bless her heart. So we ended up coming here after waiting in line at 3 different places to find that the "vegan options" were not available. So when I walked up to the hostess and asked to make sure there were options actually available before I waited 30-45 mins to be seated, she dismissively stated, "yeah, this is the only option in the part that always has vegan options". So we waited, sat down and asked our poor server a few questions. Come to find out, all the items listed on the menu as "vegan" had to be modified to be vegan, making them not vegan. For example, the GF pasta contains eggs, the kids vegan hot dog (Yves brand) comes with a no -vegan bun and goldfish... but hey you can still pay $8 for you kid to get a wiener and applesauce. A damn joke. Also the Beyond Burger listed as vegan comes with a non-vegan bun so you can order a patty with frozen fries for $16. No thank you. Step it up, Dolly. We will be bringing this complaint to corporate because it really is unacceptable. Not to mention the attitude of the employees when you ask questions, aside from our waitress, they were ALL rude as heck. No southern charm there. read more

Often you'll hear about food quality ,prices and value when people talk theme parks. As a proud Disney Alumni, I still often heard guests complain about "theme park food". Well, I am thrilled to report there is exceptional food, affordable and friendly and close to home. I visited Dollywood and walked in with a critical eye, looking to compare this park with my former home. Honestly, I was blown away. The park sparkled and the lunch at Front Porch cafe was above the quality and the portions at most free standing restaurants outside anywhere near here I had a world class spinach strawberry salad. Perfectly prepared, fresh and very competitively priced. Travel advisor calls Dollywood "The best theme park in America " . When you combine the cleanliness, entertainment and killer food, I would have a hard time disagreeing...no matter how much that hurts. read more

Very good food!! I got the PBLT with pork belly and a salad on the side. A great way to end our day in Dollywood! The service was OK. Our waitress was nice, but didn't check with in with us half-way through (I kinda wanted more water... lol). The wait wasn't really long (15-ish minutes). It was very refreshing to just sit in the air conditioning after a long day of 90+ weather. It seemed pretty clean... I mean, the tables didn't have any crumbs. But overall, the Front Porch has fair prices for such good meals. read more

First of all I don't like to be seated in the corner of a restaurant when there are open tables. Secondly when the server ignores your table for the first ten mins. and then says she has been working on credit card tickets when you have watched her talking to other servers for ten mins. As I spent time in Dollywood, I was truly impressed with the level of customer service, cleanliness, tastiness of food and so much more so when we stopped into the Front Porch Cafe for dinner while we were at the resort, to be honest, I expected a lot, but at the end, it really didn't blow me away. We put our names in for a 45 minute wait, which honestly was fine because we walked around the park before it was our time. We came back early because who wants to miss their name being called. I noticed many empty tables. I assumed a 45 minute and open tables meant lack of staff so I let it slide. Eventually our name was called and I knew food would be on the way. We got our drink order in pretty quickly and before they came to us (our drinks) I noticed that there were pretty much two waitresses for the entire area we sat in- that can't spell well for the service we were about to get- and I was right. Everything just seemed to be slow. Now I get it, I'm from the north originally and live in Fort Lauderdale now, so I'm not really accustomed to the "country life" that is things moving slower than normal, but this wasn't the case. This was just slow. We had her put everything in at one so it would come out when it was ready. I got a corn chowder and Smokehouse salad and everything came out at once. The chowder, was good. Nice thick consistency with Dolly's version of a Cheddar Bay Biscuit which were so good I did order extra of (they are 3 for $1.99). The smokehouse salad was alright. It came with ham, bacon, onion rings, croutons, cheese and of course lettuce. I was not af an of their homemade ranch and I love ranch. The onion ring was a nice touch on a salad and something I've never had before. I didn't finish it all, but ate the majority. The ham was a little too salty. Another weird thing is the bathroom. Now this place, like the park, is gigantic. Why did they ave a bathroom that has one stall and one urinal? Hundreds of people can eat here at once and you think only one person has to pee? C'mon Dolly... It's not a place I'd tell you NOT to go, but it's definitely not going to wow you either. read more

Dollywood has come a long way. Every year, they manage to improve their services, rides, and restaurants. Front Porch is their latest restaurant addition. It is a new concept that offers fresher options. For example, I had a salad with grilled salmon (see picture). It tasted as good as what I'd order at most any restaurant in Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge. My wife ordered a vegetable soup. Unlike most restaurant vegetable soup, they had freshly cut carrots, potatoes, etc. It actually tasted homemade. Finally, we ordered burgers. Again, the burgers were cooked perfectly and quite good. Overall, this is a surprisingly good choice for Dollywood. It's a cut above the buffets, fried chicken, and other theme park food. Also, if you suffer from a food allergy (i.e. gluten or something else), they take it extremely seriously and likely will have something you can eat. read more

Once it did come out the portion size for the $15 chicken sandwich was a little underwhelming the size of the chicken on the bun was that of a singular chicken tender served with cold unsalted French fries. However, I will say the sauce it is served with is very good. Another person at our table order the premier pork platter which there was nothing premier about it very thin pork tenderloin covered in thick salty breading. The ambiance was pretty casual and the waiting staff was not very friendly we were going to order desert but before we could our waiter out the check down at our table and walked away. After a long hot day at Dollywood and a horrible time finding a decent restaurant in Pigeon Forge the night before, we happened by chance to come across a really good meal in the theme park itself. The roast chicken and the Southern spinach salad are fabulous. The three bean chili was excellent. The cheddar biscuits were extraordinary. The chocolate strawberry torte was a great change of pace. Our server Misty was superb, and she was the only server in the restaurant while we were there and had every table covered. Even the price was a bargain given that we paid $65 for hot dogs for lunch. Do yourself a favor, if you are at Dollywood eat every meal at the Front Porch Cafe. read more

Out of all the Dollywood restaurants our family likes this one the best. We are not big "buffet " people so this one just fits our needs. Limited menu, We purchased appetizers of fried green tomatoes $8 there were 4, the Korean tacos $9 there were 2, both were favorable would get again. Chicken sandwich with fries $14, wedge salad $12 and kids Mac and fries $8, 1 got one peach tea $4. Everything was very good. The restaurant's always clean, bathrooms were clean. For park food, this is a delicacy. We had to sit indoors because it was raining. The chicken was moist and came on a bone which was awesome sauce. The mushroom creme was flavorful and the cheesy biscuit tasted just like Red Lobster. The only thing that wasn't amazing were the potatoes. Also, friendliest server in the world. My husband and I ate here in the spring and it was pretty good, with the exception of the server, who wasn't all that friendly or attentive. This trip was my two daughters and a friend of mine. The food didn't seem quite as good as the last time around, but it was still decent. The cornbread is delicious! The ribs were really fatty and most of them were left on the plate. The rest of the food was good. Unfortunately for us, we ended up with the same server (Joyce) that my husband and I had in the spring. She is not attentive at all. She took our order, brought our food, and basically disappeared. We had to flag her down if we wanted something. She never came to see if we wanted more of anything, including drinks - we had to find her to ask. I wish we would have had a different server, maybe we would have enjoyed it more. I think if I ever return here, I will request to NOT get Joyce as our server. read more

This restaurant was a huge disappointment. First the wait was over 40 mins, which would normally be expected but right before we arrived, the dishwasher had broken, so they stopped taking guests. According to the listless hostess, we "were lucky to be the last ones seated." As a result, the restaurant was empty. So why the wait? Regardless, the hostess sat us in the worst seats in the house. She put us directly in front of the kitchen door, next to the pathway to the exit. We asked to be seated elsewhere since we could have literally been sat anywhere else. She said "we have to go by the servers," and continued to seat us at the terrible table. I would understand under different circumstances but again, the restaurant was empty. She was also the most unfriendly person. My husband actually commented " I have never seen someone so unexcited about their job." Anyway, we ordered a kids meal, a salad with chicken and a pork sandwich. The salad was average with a bed of lettuce and some cheese but the chicken was cold strips that had been frozen. They looked exactly like the chicken strips from Costco and and probably were. The kids meal included an apple sauce and a bag of gold fish crackers. Most of the meal was purchased at big box store. I could have brought these items from home for way less money. The waitress also made a big deal that if we wanted to add fries to the kids meal , she wouldn't charge us because they hadn't changed their menu yet or something to that effect. We didn't want to add fries so I don't know why she was making a deal about it. My husband said the sandwich was nothing special and tasted like something he could make himself. It was even made on square sandwich bread like we would make at home. However, the French fries that came with the meal were frozen crinkle cut fries from a bag. I commented that I had wanted to steal a few from my husband's plate but didn't because they looked so unappetizing. He agreed they were gross and didn't eat any. There was a seasonal menu but I didn't realize until later that we had no seasonal menu printout at our table like the others did. The waitress didn't ensure we had one so we ordered off the regular menu. I was disappointed because I would have liked to order something off the seasonal menu instead of a bland, frozen chicken salad. The worst part was the price. The bill was over $50, for a lunch made up of food from a big box store. As I mentioned, the food appeared to be mostly from Costco. Yet it was over $50. Lastly , the bathroom was too small and forced several ladies to cram into it. It had one stall and one sink and was the size of a single/ private bathroom. Why not make it one instead of requiring ladies to cram into a tiny bathroom? In contrast, we went to the Paula Dean restaurant in pigeon forge the next day and it was phenomenal! Everything that had been lacking at the Front Porch Cafe was there at Pula Dean's. I guess when you have a captive audience at the theme park, customer service and good food can suffer. I see that others had a more positive experience but ours was not and I hope we can find another place to eat on our next trip to Dollywood. read more
