Cute little place downtown Shelton. The food is fresh and tasty. The menu is broken down into frozen take home dishes or eat fresh dishes. This place has a lot of flavor. It's Lebanese fare. Family owned and mama cooks the food.

From Yola is ansolutely wonderful! I am writing this on 11/20/2025, which is during their soft opening period. Their menu is excellent, the food prep stellar and authentic. There were 4 of us, and we ordered family style. We enjoyed the following: hummus, pita, 3 different wraps (chicken, shawarma, falafel), yellow rice with raisins, lentil soup. Oh em gee - talk about flavorful! We live about an hour away, and we ordered take-out for later. What's lovely is that you can get to go either already frozen (that's what we did) or ready to eat. Our faves - the chicken wrap is mouthwatering, the hummus very good, and the lentil soup. The family who are the geniuses behind From Yola are friendly, open and willing to engage in conversation when they aren't busy serving other customers. You order at the counter, and food is brought to the table. Nice ambiance, too. Casual dress is fine, prices very reasonable. We will be back! And soon!

Service was friendly and patient as we tried to make decisions and asked questions. I have a friend that kind handle chile spice due to medical condition they were very accommodating when it was needed by having certain sauces on the side. We shared a number of dishes and two bottles of wine. We started with the Hummus bil Lahm ou Snobar, my favorite dish of the evening a hummus with bubbling spiced lamb. Baba Ghanouj, Bisara Munir, Arnabeet, Alhalaioun and the chicken and beef Shish Taouk. Everything was delicious. Flavorful, the proteins were cooked perfectly nice and tender. One of our friends likes meat a lot and hadn't cause he thought it was a vegetarian restaurant. We had to have the green chile sauce on the side of the asparagus dish cause of my friend but that was ok we were putting it in other items we loved it so much. Also the whipped garlic that came with the chicken and beef was a big hit! We had never had Lebanese wine and enjoyed our selections. Love that it felt like a healthier meal with the vegetables and spreads. Didn't feel stuffed after but definitely satisfied. They even comped dessert for my friends birthday which I believe was an orange rose water pudding. Welcoming warm space. Parking is fairly easy on a Tuesday night. Looking forward to visiting again

Great intimate family-friendly restaurant with authentic Lebanese food. Street parking…read more My favorites ares the lamb hummus with pine nuts and the squash grounded dip. Both were very flavorful and well balanced. Love the different textures. The roasted broccoli was OK, it was on the less cooked side The entree skewers were pretty good too. Shoutout to the kind service that let me combine and do half beef and half chicken because at the point I was too full from all the appetizers I ordered but still wanted to try both. One thing I really loved about the skewer is the sauces that came on the side: one tahini, one garlic, and one tomato. Such delicious sauces! Entrees were a little pricey though. Last but not least my party enjoyed the special Lebanese wine.

Highly recommend the three dip (current seasons is beet and it's my fav) with the flat bread. The flat bread comes out steaming. Trumpet mushroom is Smokey and juicy. Lamb comes in braised form and kebab both really good The soft serve swirl has the perfect texture and flavor. Would come back again!

We arrived on a Friday night at roughly 7:30 and there was already quite a wait. For a table for 3,…read morewe were told we'd have to wait for about 2.5 hours which we honestly were not thrilled to do. However after we expressed that we didn't want to wait that long, we were told that if we wanted outdoor seating they could actually seat us in less than half an hour. We chose the outdoor seating option and took a quick stroll in the quiet neighborhood before coming back. Our server told us that Homer's plates are meant to be family style and shared so their general recommendation is 1 large plate or 2 small plates per person. For us, we ordered the Set of top 3 spreads, lamb ragu on tahini and we were served with 5 pieces of warm pita. We also ordered Grilled Pork with Stinging nettles, raw albacore tuna with taramasalata, and smoked and shaved kohlrabi. Our server warned us that the pork was going to be on the fatty side but we were still surprised by how fatty it was. The spreads for the pita were amazing as usual-- their seasonal flavors taste amazingly fresh. Our table wanted to order more pita and when someone came by to take the empty plate they asked if we wanted more which we did let them know but even by the time we finished all the plates, we never got the additional pita so we just took it off. The Kohlrabi was an amazingly refreshing palette cleanser before the pork-- super light and refreshing. After we finished our meal we grabbed some soft serve from the window and wow, for 7$ it's quite a lot of ice cream! The flavors that were offered when we were there was Dark Chocolate and Kettlekorn. I sampled the swirl and the fusion of the saltiness of the kettle korn, the slight bitter and sweetness of the dark chocolate was immaculate. Final thoughts: very cool experience, inside I could see the open kitchen and the stone wood fired oven and the ingredients tasted amazing. However it is a little inconvenient that it's walk in unless you're a party of 6 since the lines and wait can get incredibly long. It's also difficult to find parking in the area. Very neat experience!
