I'm not sure what happened to this place. Maybe new ownership? The fish and chips used to be amazing. Now it's a big thing of soggy dough and some fish. I tried to give it a second try and went back for brunch. Ordered a fruit bowl and the apple slices were cut into thirds. Like they went to Vins and bought a kid snack pack and then cut it more. Then it dawned on me. It's like the owner is taking product and cutting it with baking soda to make more. Or is that a d-ug dealer? Either way. The menu said $7 and when I got my receipt each item had a small amount of cents added to it. So my 7 dollar fruit was listed as $7.42. No it didnt calculate tax into it because there was tax added to the total. So check your receipts. A few cents isnt an issue when its just one person, but doing it to every customer adds up to ripped off funds read more

So let me begin the restaurant was nice and cool with temps as high as 100 degrees that is much appreciated. Now service very sup par when I pay almost $94 for a bill I expect wonderful service that is not a cheap meal.. on to the good chicken was cooked very well juicy and fell off the bone I am not a fan of the flavor it's Smokey with a BBQ undertone I will pass. Fries were nice crispy and a decent house salad. We ordered the Chicken family Meal for $64 is suppose to come with 2 large sides and a salad here is the catch that needs to change. If you order the fries it automatically cancels out the other side so that is the only side you get. Which I feel is a scam, you can easily give the customer variety and allow them to get there to sides as written in the menu. I went non a Wednesday around 4:00 it was dead we were the only ones in there but we are also before the dinner rush. I also ordered a Bloody Mary it was okay. But hey you try then decide! read more

Ugh...haven't been in years and quickly remembered why. Sat for a drink while I ordered to go. Took about 2 hours to accomplish that. Chicken was still good as we remembered But $40 for a full chicken is crazy. Ordered half lb tri tip (5 slices), half chicken, cup of chicken soup, chicken salad and that was $90! It's getting harder to support restaurants these days for the underwhelming experience. I wish them well, but it the new owners will need to make some changes to keep doors open. read more

Service was lackluster to say the least. We went there for lunch and expected a delicious Tri-Tip Beef sandwich And salad. Only 2 tables were taken and 2 servers waited on customers. It took at least 20 minutes to get one of them to take a drink order which we had to ask for twice! Our sandwich took even longer. When it arrived the cold roll had 2 small slices of meat and the potato chips were fried with rotten black spots all over and tasted like grease. Overall bad experience at this place and would NOT recommend!! read more

I can also second the food poisoning. When we ordered, we were told that the burger would "take a while". The server told us that he would "be right back, I need to go to the liquor store". He was 100 percent not joking. This place shouldn't be open. The ambiance was nonexistent. read more

Our first time here. Food took a bit but was well worth the wait! We ordered the bacon western cheeseburger with fries, Olympia burger with baked beans and tri-tip sandwhich with sweet potatoe fries. It was all deicious! Our waitress, Lori, was friendly, made great food recommendations and was attentive. We certainly will return! read more

The hostess here never made eye contact when greeting us, and was absolutely not smiling. She clearly seemed frustrated with her job. I don't care how busy she was, or how her day was going, when you're in a CUSTOMER FACING JOB, your main priority is to be friendly and welcoming. She was actually the opposite. We thought it was hilarious. We ordered the ribs and they literally tasted like they were microwaved. Really tough and dry. Then the mashed potatoes were those powder kind that you mix with milk to make. The crazy thing is, this place was crowded. Horrible place to eat. Plenty of other options on this street. read more

Reviews have suggested that this place has gone downhill in food and service since changing ownership a few years ago. I am here to say that it has NOT; it is as good, possibly better than ever. I had a big slab of thin-boned, juicy ribs without enough sauce on them already, choice of small sides. An appetizer for the table (it was a huge serving) of onion rings was outstanding: extremely thin cut, very tasty. Wonderfully helpful and kind service from Noah. read more

First time trying Frisella's Roastery. We enjoyed the outdoor seating area. Great food! I had the blt on this tasty roll. The bread was so light and delicious. I would probably just ask for extra bacon but the bacon was perfectly cooked and delicious. I also had a raspberry margarita very good margaritas! The service was excellent we did not have to ask for anything except for another margarita lol. Me and my sister say two thumbs up we definitely will be back! read more

Perfect place to bring a group, or go on a date! Service is fast, food is consistently good, and there is something for everyone on their menu. The fried green beans are a must for the table to share. Great wine list and tons of good cocktails to choose from. Nice discounted lunch menu that goes until 4 pm! Makes getting a nice lunch (or super early dinner) - very affordable. read more

So happy this place is still here! One of the original places that makes fresh potato chips! They are worth the trip all on their own! My favorite thing on the menu is the BLT, which has some incredible hickory smoked bacon on a fresh Italian loaf. See the fried green beans! My favorite way to get healthy vegetables!! We used to love this place years ago. When the other owners had it we went for breakfast. Most recently service was mediocre. Coffee is five dollars a cup. They brought out cream and sugar, and the creamers were half to use thrown back in the container. Definitely will not be back. read more

The food is sooooo good, had their bbq Western Bacon cheeseburger love the best french fries, crunchy outside soft inside. I've been coming to this restaurant for a long time and they are consistent. The severs do a good job friendly and obliging! And the owner Anna will bend over backward for you if there are any issues. Very kind Lady. Great place, definitely worth it! read more

Food and service are great we love Andrea! Chicken strips and Olympic burger are favorites!

COME HERE FOR GREAT BRUNCH I came to Glendora from San Dimas to reunite with my family for the 22nd of December till Christmas and we came to this place for brunch. The breakfast burrito was so good; it was filled with tri-tip, home fries, and other ingredients that paired together perfectly. My brother ordered the 123 combo and he devoured it until there was nothing else. The restaurant was a little empty but everything was still fresh and delicious. The only down side is that the tables are a little sticky but still spotless. The interior is very nice with empty picture frames giving a rustic look. The owner Anna was very nice and greeted us with a smile and a home like welcoming. Overall, this restaurant is a must try for brunch. I definitely will be back to try the lunch. read more

Went to dinner tonight for my sister's birthday. The order was messed up from the start and service was not that great either. We've been here a couple times before and have never had any issues. I ordered a bbq chicken sandwich and almost swallowed a bone on the first bite. It was really scary and we all stopped eating. The owner and wait staff would not comp our food and were not apologetic, Noah the "manager" said it's human error and dismissed us. My sister ended up paying for food we didn't end up eating and frisella's ruined our whole birthday dinner. We will not be coming back to a place where they don't care if customers choke on chicken bones!! read more

I feel like this restaurant is overly disliked in my opinion. As I scroll through the reviews and read them, I find it very contrary from my personal experience. I think the food is exceptional the avocado toast I had was elevated and unlike an average avocado toast. The omelette performed similarly. I've also had lunch here but forgot to comment about it. I ordered the chicken tenders, in my opinion the tenders by itself can out perform the tenders from Canes and any chicken product by Chic Fil A. The fries were alright they were crispy and hot. Service was great both times, I was tended to and treated above the status of a customer. All in all I think it was an above average experience and it's definitely an experience worth repeating. read more

I want to have good things to say about Frisellas, but the changes that have happened definitely won't allow it. The wait staff is polite, but not attentive enough. The FOOD is not what I remember. I asked for medium rare, and I received an overcooked patty. The RAAAANCH, which I used to LOVE is now so watery and flavorless. I'm sad because this place used to be a quality go-to cute dinner spot. But I refuse to pay $25 for a burnt, tasteless salad. read more

We went there earlier tonight on a Friday night. The restaurant was about half full not overcrowded. Staff showed us to the table however Did not give us any menus or offer water. We waited in the booth for over 10 minutes. Although the staff went to the table next to ours and behind us at the bar, and continued to greet and seat more customers they continually completely ignored us. No eye contact and no " will be with you in a minute". Yet they kept greeting 2-3 customer groups and sitting them down. My husband asked for menus to a staff member walking to the back only to have the staff keep walking by and not even acknowledge. We walked out. Not sure what's happening at Frisella's but it's not the same as it used to be when I first moved to the area in 2019 read more

I must admit the food was great. However the waitress is a real piece of work. I asked for some pickles, and barbecue sauce for my meal and I was charged per pickle $1.54 and .82 cents for a side of barbecue sauce for the meal. How petty this restaurant is. Here is the proof on the receipts. If you're going to come and eat here bring your own silverware napkins and any sauces you feel you will need with your meal because it will cost you more than your order. Avoid this place unless you like attitude from the waitress and a separate check for extras. There is no atmosphere and no music. read more

Watch your receipts!! They charge 3% for non cash transactions. Yet I paid with cash and they still charged me the 3%. Not cool. I also ordered Mac n cheese, smelt so bad. Tri tip sandwhich had 1 piece of meat. Tri tip was good. Mac n cheese, never again. read more

I was a bit disappointed with the quality of food and the fact it was a Monday night and there were not many customers, they brought my order wrong. They also placed our dinner party in the corner of the restaurant at the window so we were not close to the bar and our server took his time getting our drinks and not checking in on us to see if we wanted water. So I ordered the Olympic burger it was a hand made patty but was not given the choice of how I wanted it cooked and it came well done so it was a bit dry and tough, along with that I ordered sweet potato fries and it came with regular fries, also it stated it had applewood bacon and that was missing. When we were done with our food the server came back to collect our plates but only collected 4 out of 6 plates. Thankfully he brought meal boxes for the leftover but I guarantee the leftover will not taste any better the next day. I will not be coming back. Oh and my cocktail was an old fashioned that was not stirred but shaken and was overly sweet and not enough bitters added, plus served over mixed ice with an orange slice instead of orange peel. read more

Frisella's Roastery - The old fashioned that is just old really. - Barbeque Near Me - Glendora, California

ordered out for basket of onion rings $12, and two pulled pork sandwiches $19 each. Rings were soggy and terrible, which is my fault for ordering something that should not be ordered as take out. on site their rings have always been great, take out, however, shouldn't be offered for it, as they don' travel well. The rolls on the pulled pork were stale and the amount of meat wasn't up to my expectations (Where's The Beef?). The lettuce on the salad that came with one of the sandwiches was not very fresh. All in all a very disappointing experience, especially due to the over $70 tab. read more

Solid 4 Stars **** Yelp-O-licious Service 5 Stars***** Rosa Thank you. Chicken 5 Stars***** Lemonade 5 Stars***** Ambiance 4.5 Stars***** Onion Rings 4 Stars**** Ribs 3 Stars*** Tri-tip 3 Stars** Price 3.5 Stars****$98.00 #401 Review #82 Review this year 82/200 challenge I recently had the pleasure of dining at Frisella's Roasters BBQ in Old Town Glendora, CA, and it was a delightful experience. The restaurant exudes a charming midwestern Texas roadhouse ambiance with its wooden floors, tables, and a cozy bar. The option for outdoor seating under umbrellas or on the porch adds to the old west atmosphere. The service was outstanding, and I must give a special shoutout to Rosa, my server, who was exceptionally friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. She recommended some fantastic choices, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. I started with the Frisella's Onion Ring Basket, which was enormous and perfect for sharing. The thin, crunchy onion rings were well-seasoned and served with a delectable sweet and slightly tart BBQ sauce, making it a must-try for $13.00. For my main course, Rosa recommended the 3 Meat Combo, which included 3 beef ribs, 2 slices of tri-tip, and a quarter chicken, accompanied by two sides: mashed potatoes and baked beans. I couldn't resist trying the sweet potato as well, along with their homemade lemonade. While the beef ribs and tri-tip were good, they didn't quite match the flavor of Texas barbecue that I'm accustomed to. However, the standout was undoubtedly the rotisserie chicken. The smoky, crispy skin and perfectly seasoned white meat were a true masterpiece, rivaling even Ruth's Chris in quality. The sides, especially the mashed potatoes and baked beans with their smoky notes, were delicious. The sweet potato, baked to perfection with caramelized sugar on top, was a delightful surprise. Their homemade lemonade was just the right balance of sweetness and tartness, adding a refreshing touch to the meal. Though the overall price of $93.98 may seem a bit steep, it was well worth it for the quality and quantity of food. I could only finish half of it, and I'm already looking forward to returning to sample their amazing burgers, which looked tantalizing on the tables of other guests. In summary, my visit to Frisella's Roasters BBQ was a positive experience, with the rotisserie chicken and sides being the stars of the show. If you're in the mood for a flavorful and satisfying meal in a rustic, Texas-inspired setting, this is a place you should definitely consider. read more

We went in on a hot day and the air conditioning was a welcome reprieve from the heat, until we realized the a/c vents above us were leaking directly onto our food. Then the restaurant filled with smoke. We asked our server about it and she explained that it was because someone had cooked a burger. Really? People were having to move outside because of it and it happened twice while we were there. Food was fair, but they only gave us a small discount after our experience. Very disappointing and not recommended. read more

A little bit of everything from TV / sports bar to romantic mood and Cheeseburger to ribs . Awesome service at reasonable costs .

Just an excellent dining experience. My family and I were in the area looking for a late lunch spot. Sat outside, it was relaxing and the service was so friendly, reminded us of southern hospitality especially our waitress has a southern twang. We thought that was adorable. The Irish nacho was a great starter. Fish and chips was visually impressive and the fish was a good serving! My tri-tip salad was fresh. I am a picky salad person, brown or wilted greens are big no bueno for me. My little one got the Mac & Cheese from the kids menu, I really appreciate the restaurant not using fake cheese and the macaroni was not swimming in a bowl of cheese soup. This restaurant offers Happy Hour DAILY from 2-6pm. Margarita on the rock? Who can resist that? read more

TIP: Wine Wednesday: $7.50 for 1st glass, $1 for second...basically, $4.25/glass (must buy in twos). Came here on a Wednesday evening with a group of 11 with reservations. Our table was ready, and we got seated immediately. Both indoor and street facing patio dining are available. We sat inside and it was quite cozy and comfortable with a rustic décor. SERVICE: Amanda assisted us, and she was excellent. Great personality and very efficient. Stopped by often, so we never waited long for anything. The other staff helping her were also on their game. FOOD: We started with the Fried Zucchini Sticks appetizer ($12) which was very good. Large slices of zucchini with a tasty, herb seasoned deep fried batter and a house ranch dressing. For entrees, we ordered the Angus Beef Cheeseburgers ($14) which were good and came with a mountain of French fries. Others in our party ordered the salads, which were quite large and loaded with proteins. All in all, a good experience. We'd definitely come back, especially for the Wine Wednesday special. read more

This is not the review you want to write about your local downtown restaurant... We had multiple bad experiences at Friscillas, but this last one was the last straw sadly :( It started with a spider on our ice tea (which was very apparent and definitely had been there a while), and then we had dry overcooked , soggy burger and extra dry mac and cheese (my son loves mac and cheese, and he did not like it at all). It is almost like they just warmed everything up. The server was very kind in all of this, but we were disappointed we paid a log of money for a meal that was not tasty at all... Friscillas has changed drastically over the years . read more

Not sure who the cook was this evening, but the fish n chips my husband and I ordered were awful. Filets were undercooked. The outside batter should be crispy and cut easily with a knife or fork- nope! The batter was rubbery and soggy in texture. Even the color of the fish looked undercooked. It was gross. Also, the kale salad looked and tasted like one of those salad "kits" you can buy in a bag from the grocery store. Another fail. Do better, Owner(s). The price of dining out these days should make you want to ensure your food and service quality is top notch because people don't need to dine out, especially if we're having to pay high prices for garbage food. read more

Been going there for years. The place is definitely amazing, service great, food delicious will always go back. And I love the ambience.

This place was recommended by someone I knew and trusted, but I realized that it was a Terrible, Terrible Mistake in coming. First off, our 2 coffee cups came with leftover red lipstick on the rims. Then the appetizer came right after our meals, despite ordering "An Appetizer ". Then I ordered another cup of coffee, and guess what...it also came with red lipstick on the rims! (3 unclean, used coffee mugs, really folks? After finishing our meals, they took a long time in bringing our to go boxes and then I had to go to the register to pay for the meal because NO one came to our table! So...How did they acknowledge and apologize for s**tty service you asked...they took off a whole $10 off our check. Trust me...go somewhere else to dine! ...unless you like free red lipstick on your mugs! read more

Let me start off by saying I love Frisella's. It has been a favorite of mine for many many years. We just got back from trying their new brunch as a party of 4. We all enjoyed our food each had something different. The bloody marys were ok. But that could be me just being picky lol. The service was friendly. I believe the Bartender took care of us. The issue I have with todays experience is there were only 5 sets of people total that were dining between inside and outside and our food took well over 30 minutes. There was a group of people taking photos for the restaurant and it seemed as if the focus was more on them taking pictures of food and drinks. Rather than the paying customers. One of the ladies in the group walked into the kitchen and we stopped her to ask for some jelly for our toast. She turned and looked at us and said I don't work here. They way she said it was just rude. Maybe she could have gotten someone for us. I Get that it's not her job. But once again we had no clue she didn't work there since she was in the kitchen. So we had to wave annoyingly to get someone's attention. For how slow it was in the restaurant at the time the service should have been better. read more
