COME HERE FOR GREAT BRUNCH I came to Glendora from San Dimas to reunite with my family for the 22nd of December till Christmas and we came to this place for brunch. The breakfast burrito was so good; it was filled with tri-tip, home fries, and other ingredients that paired together perfectly. My brother ordered the 123 combo and he devoured it until there was nothing else. The restaurant was a little empty but everything was still fresh and delicious. The only down side is that the tables are a little sticky but still spotless. The interior is very nice with empty picture frames giving a rustic look. The owner Anna was very nice and greeted us with a smile and a home like welcoming. Overall, this restaurant is a must try for brunch. I definitely will be back to try the lunch. read more

Went to dinner tonight for my sister's birthday. The order was messed up from the start and service was not that great either. We've been here a couple times before and have never had any issues. I ordered a bbq chicken sandwich and almost swallowed a bone on the first bite. It was really scary and we all stopped eating. The owner and wait staff would not comp our food and were not apologetic, Noah the "manager" said it's human error and dismissed us. My sister ended up paying for food we didn't end up eating and frisella's ruined our whole birthday dinner. I was a bit disappointed with the quality of food and the fact it was a Monday night and there were not many customers, they brought my order wrong. They also placed our dinner party in the corner of the restaurant at the window so we were not close to the bar and our server took his time getting our drinks and not checking in on us to see if we wanted water. So I ordered the Olympic burger it was a hand made patty but was not given the choice of how I wanted it cooked and it came well done so it was a bit dry and tough, along with that I ordered sweet potato fries and it came with regular fries, also it stated it had applewood bacon and that was missing. When we were done with our food the server came back to collect our plates but only collected 4 out of 6 plates. Thankfully he brought meal boxes for the leftover but I guarantee the leftover will not taste any better the next day. I will not be coming back. I asked for some pickles, and barbecue sauce for my meal and I was charged per pickle $1.54 and .82 cents for a side of barbecue sauce for the meal. How petty this restaurant is. If you're going to come and eat here bring your own silverware napkins and any sauces you feel you will need with your meal because it will cost you more than your order. My favorite thing on the menu is the BLT, which has some incredible hickory smoked bacon on a fresh Italian loaf. See the fried green beans! My favorite way to get healthy vegetables!! We went in on a hot day and the air conditioning was a welcome reprieve from the heat, until we realized the a/c vents above us were leaking directly onto our food. Then the restaurant filled with smoke. We asked our server about it and she explained that it was because someone had cooked a burger. Really? This is not the review you want to write about your local downtown restaurant... We had multiple bad experiences at Friscillas, but this last one was the last straw sadly :( It started with a spider on our ice tea (which was very apparent and definitely had been there a while), and then we had dry overcooked , soggy burger and extra dry mac and cheese (my son loves mac and cheese, and he did not like it at all). It is almost like they just warmed everything up. The server was very kind in all of this, but we were disappointed we paid a log of money for a meal that was not tasty at all... The outside batter should be crispy and cut easily with a knife or fork- nope! The batter was rubbery and soggy in texture. Even the color of the fish looked undercooked. It was gross. Let me start off by saying I love Frisella's. It has been a favorite of mine for many many years. We just got back from trying their new brunch as a party of 4. We all enjoyed our food each had something different. The bloody marys were ok. But that could be me just being picky lol. The service was friendly. I believe the Bartender took care of us. The issue I have with todays experience is there were only 5 sets of people total that were dining between inside and outside and our food took well over 30 minutes. There was a group of people taking photos for the restaurant and it seemed as if the focus was more on them taking pictures of food and drinks. Rather than the paying customers. One of the ladies in the group walked into the kitchen and we stopped her to ask for some jelly for our toast. She turned and looked at us and said I don't work here. They way she said it was just rude. Maybe she could have gotten someone for us. I Get that it's not her job. But once again we had no clue she didn't work there since she was in the kitchen. We went there earlier tonight on a Friday night. The restaurant was about half full not overcrowded. Staff showed us to the table however Did not give us any menus or offer water. We waited in the booth for over 10 minutes. Although the staff went to the table next to ours and behind us at the bar, and continued to greet and seat more customers they continually completely ignored us. No eye contact and no " will be with you in a minute". Yet they kept greeting 2-3 customer groups and sitting them down. The food is great. I especially like their fish & chips. A few weeks ago we decided to try their new brunch. The server directed us to a table, we asked if we could sit at a booth instead. She showed us to a booth and slapped the menus on the table and walked away. We left, went to The Vault and had a lovely brunch. This is not the first time we've had an issue with this server. I've never left a review on Yelp, but felt compelled to leave one for Frisella's. My family and I have been coming here for years, but ever since the ownership changed hands, it has gone downhill severely. When we were there a few months ago, late 2024, our server was a very nice young lady but simply did not pay attention to our table at all. Took her 25 minutes just to come to our table. A young busser named Noah ended up taking care of us for most of the night and was very attentive, (bringing us drinks and even our food after our waitress eventually took the order, on top of his normal responsibilities) while the actual waitress left us unattended most of the meal. We decided to give the place another try last night, and the place seemed to have gone downhill even further. The floor was filthy, and plates were left on our table for 10 minutes before someone came to clear them. We asked about the young busser Noah who had helped us before, and it turns out they couldn't keep their best employee around. The wait staff, a different waitress this time, was just as slow as before. The food was undercooked, the fish and chips i ordered; (previously my favorite dish) was almost raw and the coleslaw my wife got with her meal was rotten and smelt rancid. She didn't eat it. The place just no longer seems clean and the service is just not the same. I'm very disappointed that a once well known and well respected establishment in the Glendora community has been ruined by new ownership! read more

Went on a Sunday for late lunch/early dinner, not busy at all. Inside was nice and cool, cute tables outside. Three of us ordered 3 sandwiches and ice teas bill was $93. Tri tip was ok a little dry. Each side came with a small side and homemade potato chips, when food was brought out we were told they were out of potato chips. We were not offered any other choice so I asked the server if another side could be substituted and she politely said no. For the price I find that crazy and poor service. The table behind us was ordering and they were out of something else on the menu . As we were leaving another couple walked in and asked if the could sit at a table and were told that side of the (small) restaurant was closed and they couldn't sit there. After working many years in the restaurant business these are all small free things that could have been done to promote customer service. Just an excellent dining experience. My family and I were in the area looking for a late lunch spot. Sat outside, it was relaxing and the service was so friendly, reminded us of southern hospitality especially our waitress has a southern twang. We thought that was adorable. I am a picky salad person, brown or wilted greens are big no bueno for me. We enjoyed a wonderful outdoor evening dinner. Ambiance was lovely and the service was great! Our group had the brisket dinner and fish and chips. The brisket was perfectly cooked and the BBQ sauce was the absolute star of the dinner - perfect blend of sweet and tangy. The side dishes we had were the mashed potatoes with gravy, Mac-n-cheese, and green beans. The green beans were wonderful but the potatoes and Mac-n-cheese were under-seasoned which was solved by adding our own salt and pepper. Both the gravy for the mashed potatoes and the sauce for the fish-n-chips were too thin for our liking but the overall dinner was great. Our table was ready, and we got seated immediately. Both indoor and street facing patio dining are available. We sat inside and it was quite cozy and comfortable with a rustic décor. SERVICE: Amanda assisted us, and she was excellent. Great personality and very efficient. Stopped by often, so we never waited long for anything. The other staff helping her were also on their game. FOOD: We started with the Fried Zucchini Sticks appetizer ($12) which was very good. Large slices of zucchini with a tasty, herb seasoned deep fried batter and a house ranch dressing. For entrees, we ordered the Angus Beef Cheeseburgers ($14) which were good and came with a mountain of French fries. Oh, boy, I really wish I didn't have to write this review. We've been coming here for 20 years and since our daughter was home for a visit we decided to come for Valentine's Day. We looked forward to it all week. My husband and I had last been around August - it never occurred to me to check to see if it has changed hands. The service was friendly and quick, the r&b singer had a beautiful voice, and the cocktail was alright. Unfortunately, the food was terrible. The pork sparerib meat was red. I know what it's supposed to look like - pink, not red. They were hard to cut apart - normally they are tender and you can pull them apart. We all stopped eating them. The Mac and cheese was dry, the French fries were no longer handcut and tasted reheated. The baked sweet potato had a spoonful of brown sugar and a little butter. It used to be covered in butter and sugar and was a real treat. Oh, and no wet wipes anymore either. At a rib place. So for two hundred dollars we have a bunch of baby backs we have to cook (doubt we can get them tender by recooking, though), and a sweet potato to doctor up. We really loved this place and the former owner and his family, and always had a delicious meal here. It's sad it's over. read more

Service: While I can understand restaurants are short staffed and can be busy, to be completely ignored for 30min and waited for food for over 1hr was ridiculous. We were a party of 7 that walked in and sat when it was not busy. We had to get our own utensils and menu and had to flag the waiter (older gentleman) many times during our visit. 3 parties had walked in after us and all got served before us. The only reason the waiter finally came over was because the busboy called him. Food: Calamari was over cooked and the amount we got in basket looked more like leftovers.
