The best part of this Friendly's location are the employees. Everything else is tacky, greasy and highly disappointing. We waited 20 minutes to be seated, which wasn't exorbitant, but once we were seated the cleanliness factor came into effect. Sticky tables and sticky floors. Just like the closed location in East Northport. It took me back to my post chorus/orchestra concerts in school, when every family would go to Friendly's after the "show" ... but I digress. The young lady that finally seated us was friendly (pun intended), and she informed us of the specials quickly. Very quickly. The menu has something for everyone. The wait for the food was reasonable, and our waitress was kind and attentive. Coffee is served frequently and promptly. A big plus. Food is tasty, greasy and indulgent albeit above average. The ice cream they are famous for remains a staple. It brings out the kid in everyone. Highly enjoyable, and you can purchase some to take home as well. The restrooms leave a lot to be desired. There were paper products everywhere, and women were changing their kids like an assembly line. Gross. My main gripe with this place is how dirty it truly is. It looks clean, but smells filthy and everything is sticky. Yuck. Greasy spoon gone bad. Ample parking. Depending on the direction you're visiting from, entry can be difficult to navigate. We had a great experience here! The staff was very nice especially our amazing waiter Joe (I think that's his name). He was very attentive, friendly and thorough. Food was fresh and good except the burger was just ok. Everything else was amazing! I've cream was good. I also love and appreciate that they skipped tables to ensure distance between diners. Obviously very kid friendly (I just wish they would give the high chairs a scrub after use but that's ok cause I bring my own Clorox wipes and do it LOL) overall a nice relaxing dining experience! Simply put this place is a dump. The floor is disgusting always, no manager to be found, bathrooms rival that of Penn Station, food is microwaved and disgusting. If you want ice cream there are so many other spots to go. We used to go here quite a bit and each time you see how it's just going downhill. Well it reached the bottom of the hill. We were 6 kids and 4 adults. The server was wonderful and funny. She kept the kids in line. The kids loved their ice cream sundaes. A favorite was the Jim dandy 5 scoop with fudge and peanut butter. I placed an order for a banana split via Uber eats. It arrived with about half a can of pineapple chunks hidden underneath the ice cream, which had partially melted. I'm violently allergic to pineapple and nobody at the store is picking up even though they are open. A tale of two Friendlys... After a particularly poor service experience at a Friendlys that shall remain nameless (It is on rt 347 in Smithtown), Grumpy decided to give the chain another go. Maybe it was the promise of mountains of delicious ice cream that brought him there. We may never know the real reason. He found this experience much better. The server did not try and pressure him into eating a subpar burger. The server even got the order correct!! A small miracle that never gets old........ The moral of the story is clear. Stay away from anyplace that tries to convince you that your burger is fine, even though it looks like it was in the mop bucket. read more

One star because I had to in order to leave a review. I normally go to the smithtown location because they are quick and friendly. I figured I was on the way home from dinner with my husband and stopped here for a quick dessert to bring home. I ordered 2 sundaes (which are in the menu nothing complicated). Waited for 45 minutes which in the time met 5 other people waiting longer than me. I had to get home to pay my sitter by 10 so asked for a refund. There were 9 people and a manager at the sprinkle station. Never have I seen so many people working but no one receiving orders. They were busy eating the Reese's behind the counter, taking selfies and laughing that we were all waiting. The manager seemed to ignore everything bad and just ring on the register. Complete disgrace. As a manager he should have hopped in and made the Togo orders. Get some damn systems people. read more

I had gone here a few weeks ago to get ice cream at that side pick up. I haven't been to a friendly since I was little so it was nice to try it again. The ice cream was good no complaints with that. But it was very uncomfortable. The man who rang me up, who I believe was a manger , an older guy. As he handed me back my changed he grabbed the tip jar as a hint to put money in it. I was very confused and taken back by that. And stepped away and waited for my order. I thought maybe I imagined him doing that but someone on line after me. Everybody's favorite place to go after _________ practice. Every night of the week you'll see kids in their jerseys, cleats whatever getting a much deserved ice cream. With two kids that are active in sports, we eat here more than we eat at home. The menu has enough variety to cover most kids and adult tastes. Except for couple of times when the food came out not as hot as I'd like, it's usually prepared well. They do change the menu around a little to mix things up. But for the most part the kids menu stay the same, chicken fingers, quesadilla, hot dogs, mac & cheese. Over the years they've maintained a few regular waiters/waitresses, with a few new ones that come and go. Some better than others and some sharper than others. Case in point... A couple of weeks ago, while we were there for lunch, there was a power outage in the area. All the waiters had to write up the checks by hand. The items we ordered came out to about $25. It almost cost us $225 dollars because our waiter couldn't do the math for the check. We watched him use up two sheets of paper trying to figure out that the tax on $25 was $200. He multiplied 25 by 8 (for 8 percent tax). My 11yo son started laughing...I had to tell him to walk away. In the car i looked at both of my kids and told them..."that's why it's important to go to school". :) The waiter seemed like a nice guy...but really $200 tax?!? read more

On a brisk Friday night, me and my fellow besties decided to take a trip to Friendly's for some late night munchies. Our waitress was friendly, a great ambassador of the franchise. She was telling us how her shift was not going that great but still met high quality service. My one bestie, Enrique, wanted the cheese sauce for the loaded fries on the side and the kitchen messed up the order. So our waitress was kind enough to get her a new one and let us keep the messed up appetizer. I ordered the Legendary Honey BBQ Chicken Supermelt. As always, it tasted legendary. The sandwich could've used a little more BBQ sauce but still was smooth to the tongue. Our waitress at one moment, brought her phone out to show us her ridiculous brothers old hairdo. Which was completely unnecessary. When it came to ice cream time we all placed our orders and it came out pretty quick 9.7/10 for speed. Our waitress clearly wasn't a fan of her job but still was very nice to us. When we asked if she would recommend working there, but she insisted that the management is poor, the sheduling is terrible, and if you work until 11, assume your going to close.
