Stopped here for a quick treat on a recent hot day. They have such a wide variety of flavors, ranging from classics to unique. I had a blueberry muffin and early gray double scoop and I have to say it was DELICIOUS. The blueberry compote was so refreshing and the early gray was spot on. Service was so friendly and quick. They allowed us to sample a few things before ordering which I always appreciate. I wish the place had some seating inside to escape from the heat, but alas. Overall, great place and would come back. read more

My wife can't eat regular ice cream, so we are always on the lookout for some form of dairy free or vegan ice cream. This place had TWO delicious sounding Vegan Ice creams so in we went. This place makes all their own ice cream, gelato, ices, vegan and yogurts which is exciting. They have 70 flavors. 70 DELICIOUS sounding flavors! We tried both the Peanut Butter Oreo and the coconut chip vegan flavors, both were fantastic and I (who didn't want ice cream) wound up with a salted caramel ice cream that was. so good. This is definitely a place to go back many times because everything looked so good and what we had was rich and delicious and made you make all those embarrassing yummy noises. read more

I had some delish rainbow cookie ice cream from here. Came here on Sunday afternoon. It wasn't overly crowded. Staff was friendly. The rainbow cookie ice cream was very yummy. There as huge pieces of rainbow cookie throughout that was just delightful. Very good spot to hit that "sweet" craving. Definitely recommend if you're in the area. read more

Decided to try and ice cream place that I neve tried. This is definitely your local hangout and the ice cream are all homemade. Each flavor has homemade and the ingredients. I got a small cone with 2 flavors - blueberry cheesecake and moose tracks. Moose tracks overpowered the taste of the blueberry cheesecake. Definitely loved the homemade ice cream. The employees were patient especially with the number of customers. It's not a big space, literally one line to go in and enough space to leave. If someone is waiting against the wall, it prevents the traffic flow. If you are here, take a walk to the nearby park or waterfront. Enjoy! read more

Really really like this place. They have so many choices. This place is a narrow and goes deep inside. I like how they make their waffle cones there. The staff is friendly and pretty quick depending on the amount of people inside. The portion of the ice cream scoops are fairly large and prices are fair. This is a go to spot for me. I need to try a bunch of the flavors they have to offer. read more

$6.75 for kids size Hershey ice cream? Oh and it's cramped, no where to sit inside or outside, and the garbages are overflowing.

After dinner in Northport, we were excited to check out Lic's Ice Cream! This cozy local shop has that true small-town charm and features a great variety of homemade ice creams, gelatos, and even dairy-free options! We ordered: Black Raspberry Chocolate Chip (Vegan) - Super flavorful and creamy for a dairy-free option. The raspberry was bright and fresh, and the chocolate chips gave it just the right texture and richness. Triple Chocolate Gelato - Deep, decadent chocolate flavor with delicate ribbons of chocolate flakes that melted in your mouth. So yummy! You can tell every flavor is thoughtfully made with fresh, quality ingredients. The shop itself is small--just one line in and limited standing room. If it's busy, it can feel a little tight, especially if people are waiting by the wall. But the staff were so friendly and patient, even with a steady stream of customers. Huge props for that! Bottom line: Lic's is a true local gem. Great flavors, kind staff, and something for everyone (including those with dietary restrictions). We'll definitely be back! read more

Loved this place! Ice cream is really good and there's a lot of flavor selection. Friendly staff! Definitely recommend!

A must when I visit Main Street in Northport! I love their homemade ice cream. You can taste the difference. So many flavors to choose from. There is always a line but it moves quick. I have never waited for more than 5-10 min. Serving size is huge. I got two scoops and I would have been fine with 1. It did melt very fast but I'm guessing that's because it's fresh. Also they only have a small bench outside which you can't even sit at because of all the bees. But we usually just walk to the park and eat over there. Will definitely go again! read more

Delicious Gelato!! The stracciatella has large chocolate pieces in it! Yummmm. The line is out the door for a reason!!

It's summer and that can only mean one thing - walking around in the heat with kids means you'll be indulging in some much needed ice cream. We met up with a few friends for a playground date and afterwards cruising up the main drag, the hankering for some ice cream started to grow. Lo and behold, Lic's arose before us like an oasis in the dessert. Errr....desert. I was happy to see that they do have some vegan flavors but only like four. So, not many options for me but they are homemade and kudos for that. I opted to share the Cherry Garcia with my mini-me with crushed cookie crumbs (Did you know Oreos are vegan?!? My little pro-tip for you!) It was $6 for a small ice cream with the topping, but I guess the old adage applies "When in Rome...." It was pretty good, and we enjoyed but it was a little too sweet, even for ice cream. We found ourselves back in Northport two weeks after our maiden voyage and came back here again. Unfortunately, they were our of the Cherry Garcia and we opted for another vegan flavor, the coconut chocolate chip. This was good, but in my opinion, not as good as the Cherry Garcia. Would love to see them offer a few more flavor options, maybe a mint chocolate chip? Strawberry? Coffee? Pretty please with a cherry on top? This place was bopping both times, but the line moves relatively quick. The young crew inside slinging scoops were friendly. Definitely worth checking out if you're hanging down port! read more

Very friendly staff and very very good ice cream highly recommend! I'm new to the Northport area so I'm a little worried of how it's gonna be in the summertime. I've been warned that the line will go out the door, but I'm hoping I can catch them on a day when it's not so busy but regardless, it's worth the wait. read more

Busy but super cute gelato & ice cream shop. The whole neighborhood is great & I highly recommend stopping by to get some ice cream for a stroll around. The flavors are really great. I got my favorite mint chocolate chip and my friend got a coffee flavored one, I tasted it and it was so good! I might get that one next time I'm around. You can't sit inside it's shaped like a long hallway & you pretty much need to order and keep it moving. However, they have a small bench right out front that is soo cute for taking pictures - they know aesthetics is a thing. read more

Solid 4 for this cute spot in Northport. Date nights with my guy when we goto Northport consist typically of the following: Drinks Dinner Dessert while strolling around town and the harbor. What we got: Small Mint Chocolate Chip Gelato: I enjoyed it but I do wish I had a better opportunity to look for the other gelato flavors but it was packed and we wanted to get in and out Small Lemon Italian Ice: my fella. He said it was good but not near as good as the Lemon Ice King of Corona. He's spoiled because he grew up right near there so that was always a goto for his family and him when he was younger. I told him next time we go see his family in Queens we're going to the Ice King or we just may have to have a little field trip. Anyway will we be back? You bet. Just I'll look a little better at the gelato situation. read more

Good place for ice cream near the park. It's a small place but they do offer quite good amount of flavors and types: gelatin, yogurt, ice cream, soft serve. I got Blueberry cheesecake flavor and I like it. Staffs are friendly and helpful. Since the store is small, there isn't enough room for everyone, it will be a long line in the summer. The price is alright read more

Love this place! Great flavors, ice cream made in store and great staff. Kids cup is big!

Visit Date: April 3, 2021 Came to Lic's after I took my son to see the Easter bunny at a latte fun. Thankfully I had my dad with me because when we parked my son saw the playground so I was able to walk to Lic's while my dad watched my son and grab us all ice cream. I had the hazlenut nutella flavor with peanut butter sauce, hot fudge and whipped cream, got my dad strawberry flavor and my son chocolate with sprinkles. It might have been on the pricey side $22 for 3 things, not sure if that's pricey or average but it was tasty ice cream and worth the cost. Northport is a very pretty area I like exploring little towns and villages when I can so I'd love to be back here one day to just walk the streets and see the different stores. I manage to spend my money pretty damn well and I do have a lot of stuff but I'm less of a shopper now, I still like that nice little quaint, unique village feel and the chance to see different stores and shops that you won't see anywhere else. If you want to visit a nice mom and pop ice cream place lic's is a place to go. read more

Visiting from out of state this tiny ice cream shop is full of nostalgia with a vintage old town building outside. Small but that's ok because this is the place to take your ice cream and go for a walk in town. This place is very covid safe. Employees are very safe. They limit 2 in the store at a time. I appreciate them being open in this time. As a vegan this place is awesome because it has about vegan ice creams and a pineapple dole whip. Yes I repeat the dole whip is vegan. I got the dole whip and the mocha brownie I believe it was. Great big chunks of fudgey brownie with great coffee flavor. The dole whip took me right back to magic kingdom in disney. My mouth was on a ride! read more

Where do I begin??? How about with how much I looooved this ice cream. It was so creamy, homemade creamy. I got the honey lavender it was delicious. I could taste the honey and the lavender wasn't overpowering. It was almost $5.00 for a small cup, but after the first taste I deemed it worth it. And it was packed into the cup, at least 2 scoops. They have a TON of options and flavors, and did I mention how creamy it was? I know,I know but it was!!! All I can say is I'm in love, oh and go and get some! read more

Best cannoli gelato I've ever had! Slightly pricey but definitely worth it for a special treat.

Tried this place because the last time I walked by, the line was out the door. They have a ton of flavors, so picking one was hard, but I settled on the pecan praline. The pecans are delicious, but the ice cream as a whole was just meh. It was pretty melty for hard ice cream and it wasn't anything special. What really stood out more to me was the terrible service I received. The girl who took care of us was extremely rude. The place was empty and when we asked for a second, she literally came back 30 seconds later and asked what we wanted. Luckily I knew what I wanted, but he didn't and when we asked for more time she was not happy about it. She handed over the ice cream, angrily collected our money and dumped the change in my hand and couldn't get back to scrolling on her cell phone fast enough. Between the ice cream being just okay and the terrible service, I definitely will not be back. Such a shame as they do have a ton of flavors that i'm sure were worth trying. read more

Great ice cream, but not wheelchair accessible. Lots of flavors to choose from. Tried the Earl Grey. Really enjoyed it.

The line for Lics was out the door so we knew it was the spot to go to. Their ice cream and gelato is homemade and they had all the classics but so many yummy fun flavors too like rainbow cookie, Nutella, and cookie butter. My friend said it was the best mint chip they've ever had. I loved my Nutella and hazelnut but my only complaint was the chocolate chips in it. I feel like that took away from the Nutella taste. read more

One of the better homemade icecream shops around. Huge selection of icecream, gelato and ices.

This tiny shop is nestled in town and is a hidden gem. The flavors are unique, my favorite is rainbow cookie gelato. The prices are a little high compared to other italian ice or ice cream shops ($7 for a small size and cash preferred) but you get what you pay for- it is delicious! Right now they have just take out service due to COVID-19 precautions, can't wait to come back in the summer and have some while walking around town. read more

We stopped by here after a long day exploring Northport. It's a decent little shop right on Main Street right by the marina. There have a huge selection of homemade ice creams. Honestly, there were too many so I went with the basic rum raisin. We also got the pralines and cream and an ice. Everything was pretty decent. We just wish they have some seating inside but the place is just too small. There is just one bench right outside and it was occupied. This is a place you come grab some ice cream and go. read more
