Haven't been here in over 10 years so we decided to take a walk down memory lane! The menu has definitely changed and the prices are higher, that was no surprise. 3 of us ate for $75. We split one appetizer of fried pickles which tasted like salt but other than that we stuck with the basics and it was ok. We were full so we took the icecream to go. Here's the Scoop! I haven't been to a Friendly 's in a long time. Parking is great and restaurant looks clean. However, on the menu the food looks tasty my experience was not so on this day. The fries were burnt and over cooked. The lobster roll was ehhh! My bubble was busted because I was so excited this was on the menu. Service wasn't popping it was as though they were doing me a favor to serve me instead of the fact that it was their job. Young waitresses sometime need to recognize what their job description is. Anyway, will I return Nope! Do they need retraining yes! I'm being generous giving them a 3 I should score this experience with a 2. Let the truth be told! read more

Solid friendlys location. like most they have the routine down, It's rare at these kinds of chain restaurants and you get a lot of value for the price. Commack Friendlys has always been there for me. Tonight's unboxing was disappointing. The Reese's friend-z came with HALF a Reese's cup in it. The Sundae, with Reese's cup added to it, came with one single lonely Reese's cup. That's cheap, rude, and disrespectful. We paid $26 for one large fribble, one medium sundae, and one small friend-z. I dined at Friendly,s Commack location this evening and ordered from "THREE COURSE" meal menu. According to the menu you select a beverage, a "STARTER"and an "ENTREE". The entree was pictured with French Fries. Expecting the soup I ordered as my starter to be served first followed by the entree with French Fries as pictured, what I received was the entree and a soup on one plate with no fries as pictured on the menu. When I questioned it I was told that this is how it comes. This was not a misunderstanding, it was deliberately misleading and makes me never want to eat at Friendly's again. I was even more surprised when I later looked at my receipt and realized I was charged an up charge for another item that a member of my party ordered that should not have been charged. read more

Waited for a hostess to take our name for over 15 minutes. Nobody came so I went to the takeout area to ask for a hostess and the young kid said "yeah there should be a hostess"... but waited another 10 minutes and still nobody. It was busy but where is the hostess for all of this time? Tables were being cleaned, people waiting and the line to put your name down was basically out the door. We left and went home. So I gave this review a few days after we ate there to see if it would change. My wife and I went there for Linner. We haven't been there in quite some time and I can't even think of a valid excuse besides the coof . Anyhow what drew us there was there new Cheese Hat Burger and previous fond memories. The place was empty for the most part but there were a few tables being occupied. It took a few minutes to be seated (we were the only ones waiting). We were finally seated and waitress was very nice and to the point with us. We asked questions/suggestions and we had answers. Shortly after we realized She was on the SOLE person running the dining room. She was the maitre'd, waitress and bussing tables at the same time. Considering her circumstances she did well with us as far as getting refills and checking up on us as we went through the courses of our meal. Due to the fact fee haven't been there in a while as well as being hungry we well full courses. App, Main Course and Dessert. App was their sampler...amazing Dinner I got their Cheese Hat Burger which was ON POINT...my wife got a regular ham burger Dessert was Jim Dandy and Brownie Dessert Platter. You can split each one for 2 but we failed to realize that when we ordered. Where things went south...not Friendly's fault... Manager is a complete waste of space...remember the Waitress being every role inside the dinning room? Out of now here for the first time the entire time we were there...he appeared. Older gentleman...we were waiting for dessert...he came out of no where and told the waitress that 36 looks like a trash dump. Great management...you see a waitress struggling to keep up with tables due to lack of staff and you choose NOT to help. You choose not to sit people...you choose not to bus tables or run food. No excuses on why he couldn't help her/restaurant flow of food come in and out. Seems like he is there to collect a paycheck and bolster his ego. The staff here is always very courteous and does a good job, and my daughter loves the food and ice cream. Great family restaurant.
