So I used to be a frequent visitor when they had the Plainview location. But unfortunately that shut down, so now whenever we're in the area we like to come back. Justin manning the bar and taking food orders was awesome. Very fast service, extremely friendly. The ambience throughout was incredible. Everyone was very friendly and we engaged in great sports talk. For my entree I had the buffalo buttermilk fried chicken sandwich, extra well done added bacon and made the chicken extra wet. Got it with a side of onion rings and all the sauces I asked for came right out. This sandwich has always been amazing. The menu is extensive and you can also build your own The bacon on bacon burger lived up to it's name with big thick cuts of bacon, tasty bacon jam, and bacon infused into the burger meat itself. I will say they should have let the burger rest a bit because it was super drippy. Fries were average but it's actually pretty rare to find a place that excels at burgers AND has amazing fries. Solid burgers with dry aged and Kobe offerings for meat. Good range of toppings choices but the meat is a bit plain so factor that in. The regular bun is chewy and hard so I recommend getting a different type. Onion rings stole the show, they are crispy and delicious 5/5. Fries are anemic and floppy. Stopped in as sign on street said $10 burgers all day. Apparently that goes only to 6 and if you sit at the bar not a table as our very nice waitress told us. Clearly disappointed as thought we were getting a deal and had already ordered our drinks we decided to stay. From menu posting you can see the cheapest hamburger is $15.99 with lots of up charges. We opted to order other menu items. I got the New England clam chowder which was a special- it was flavorful with lots of clams. Thinner/Creamer consistency than I normally prefer but still delicious. Also ordered was wings. They were meaty and tasty but note you only get 7. Not a very big order. And lastly the bacon Mac and cheese - creamy and great cheese pull. Overall nice decor and tasty food. Only giving four-star since I've only been there once, but it was a five star lunch. Met my husband on his lunch break there with our baby and got the bacon bacon burger, he got the tuna burger, and the baby got a hotdog (obviously she ate like a quarter of it lol). My burger was delicious, a a little bit more cook than I like, but my husband told me I said medium not medium rare so that's all my fault. However, even with that it was still juicy and delicious. He upgraded his side of fries to loaded fries which were equally as delish! The house cheese sauce was delicious! I had the Ahi Tuna sandwich without the bun. It was seared rare with a ponzu glaze, topped with red bell pepper and cabbage slaw with house ginger dressing. I also added avocado to it. It was yummy and fresh! Our sever was kind enough to ask if I preferred it cooked a little over it being seared rare. I upgraded my fries to sweet potato waffle fries. The fries came with a marshmallow dipping sauce. Not super impressed with this meal and it smelled very heavily of chemicals when we walked in (at least it was clean though!). We started with the spinach artichoke dip, the chips were gross. I didn't love that the chips were so heavily dyed, and they were a bit greasy from being fried. We asked for another set because they were a bit stale, and the fresh ones they brought us were much better. The steak sandwiches were very fatty, but the sauce they came with and the buffalo chicken sandwich was very good. Ask for the fries well done, if not they are pretty soggy. First time here. Had a special promotion for a free appetizer, which our waitperson had a difficult time handling. He had to ask the manager. Then after he straightened that out, he forgot to bring it out with our meals. Again and again, he was asked. We were almost finished when he finally brought it out. Please keep in mind that although this place is a bar, it draws families in because it makes these special milkshakes. Bars are usually noisy. Add kids and it is way too loud. Let me sum up the burger I had last night: Nice bun, hardly any cheese, the meat had a twang and the patty wasn't seasoned. My wife had to work late and I had Prime Burger Bar bookmarked for a while. I order a beer on tap and we both ordered the same Steakhouse Burger. My wife asked what type of fries are served with the burger and we were told shoestring. I hate shoestring french fries because they get cold too fast. I ordered coleslaw on the side. Our burgers come out to us. Visually, the burger looks great. It has a nice thick patty and the bun is fresh. Biting into the burger, the meat wasn't seasoned. The burger is flavorless. If there is cheese on the burger, they laid it on skimpy. And where are the pickles?! No pickles are being served at Prime Burger Bar. I'm assuming he was a manager, he walks over with my beer. I'm looking at him from the bar and I'm saying please don't be me, please don't be me.. This guy gives me a beer in a cocktail glass?? And it's mostly foam.. This has nothing to do with the food. Burgers are good, waitresses, bartenders, everyone was nice. It's about the Deceptive Advertising they do. There is a Huge A-frame on Jericho Turnpike stating "HAPPY HOUR ALL DAY LONG", and they have some decent prices and specials. Because of that sign, some friends and I decided to check the place out. We all had a drink at the bar before dinner and when some of us went to order another drink, (it was now after 6pm) we were informed that Happy Hour was over. What?, the sign out front says All Day Long. We were informed that on the sign (in very small print, which you don't notice) it says from Mon - Fri Until 6 pm. Now personally, that's fine. Happy Hour ending at 6pm. Just make the rules big enough so they can be seen on the sign. Don't sneak it in on the small print. It's just shady. read more
