Wow a blast from the past. We figured we would try the famous ribs & chicken dinners again. We haven't been here in years. The place looks exactly like it did. The service was a 5 Star Kristy was absolutely fantastic. The salads were delicious. I tried the creamy garlic and loved it. The spare rib dinner was definitely a hit with perfectly cooked ribs. I was told to try the pressure fried chicken. I paid extra for the white meat. They tell you to allow 20 minutes which is fine. Unfortunately when I took a bite of the chicken breast I saw red in the thicker part of the chicken which was a turn off for me. I ask about it and they said it happens and it's cooked fine, but not for me. It's hard to throughly cook a breast in 20 minutes & I'm definitely not interested in any red meat in my chicken. Yes. We have been ordering and /or eating at TSR Commack for about 35 years. Tonight we did take out. We ordered 2 riblet/shrimp scampi combos. It was definitely sub par. The corn looked and tasted old and the corn bread was hard and stale. The serving of riblets in both dinners was definitely short of what they usually serve. There is a reason this place still stands strong and that is amazing customer service, big portions, decent prices, hearty food, and good people. Although I do love corn bread, it is only served at dinnertime and not for lunch. Even though it is made daily, it does tend to be a bit dry.
