I always wanted to try this spot but wasn't please of how far the original one was at. Glad to hear they opened up a spot that was somewhat closer. For some people who may not know this is a "Japanese" BBQ & Shabu Shabu. For some of you that may not know what Shabu Shabu. Basically, you get to cook variety of meats and vegetables in a pot of broth, and you can create your own dipping sauce for additional flavors. First off... I'm sorry I don't really see any "Japanese" influences in their selection of foods. Definitely more so on their Korean, Chinese more so. But that's just my opinion. These days BBQ & Hot Pot is the new rave. It's a thriving all you can eat kind of business. Only difference is who has better selections? If I say Commack vs Flushing. Flushing wins hands down all the time. BUT! For where they are no real competitors, I'd say they have a fair selection of choices. Service was spectacular, food was fresh, sauces were your typical selections depending on how you like it and free little ice creams at the end of it all! Overall, it's enjoyable if you like to cook with friends. Definitely a group hangout kind of spot. I would suggest coming a little earlier to beat the rush! read more

Good food! We were a bit confused with the menu and how to choose what to get. In simple terms they have two ways to eat. Either you cook your food in the pot or grill. Great food and experience! I didn't know this place existed in Commack: I would usually go to Flushing or further west for a hotpot/KBBQ meal. The inside was painted a bright yellow and the wallpaper decor was pretty cool. Our waiter was friendly, but a little too "in your face" with his hospitality that it got a bit overwhelming at times. We opted for the hotpot/shabu shabu version. I got the original soup base and my friend got the spicy one. The original came with a piece of corn, green onion, and some tomato. Once we got the broth, the soup was barely even filled half way, which was really odd. The sauce bar station was pretty small and not too varied, but they had the essentials which is fine. We ordered a bunch of meat and veggies, but my favorite would be the beef belly and the flounder fish filet. Both were fresh and tender. I didn't like the beef brisket as much since it was very chewy. They give you pretty decent portions for one order: most places usually don't give a lot since it's "all you can eat", but this place wasn't too skimpy. I was truly stuffed by the end of the meal, but you can't leave without some complimentary ice cream. Overall, if I'm craving hot pot or KBBQ and don't want to drive too far, this will do! read more

Stopped in here on Halloween, and was pleasantly surprised - the food here was better than I even expected! The atmosphere is warm, open, and bright, with a hint of urban/industrial decor. Our server was soooo sweet and kind. One feature I love is that they have a sauce bar, and you can help yourself to as much sauce and as many different kinds as you want. There are also other things at the sauce bar such as jalapeños, fruit, scallions, peanuts, etc. my personal favorite was mixing peanut sauce with homemade hot pot sauce and putting it on top of udon noodles. We got the Kimchi Hot Pot, and I loved it. With hot pot, you get 5 toppings/meat/etc at a time per person. It felt like a buffet feast ! My wife and I decided to stop by this new location after their soft opening on Friday for our anniversary. We've been to their bayshore location and as always the quality of food is amazing. We went for a family dinner...we chose the BBQ option for everyone....and it was very disappointing. If you are expecting KBBQ with an option of hotpot it kinda is but the essence is missing. It was utterly confusing as there was elements of what K BBQ is but so lacking...I was unable to understand what the goal of it was. The pork belly came out frozen and gamey tasting and chewy when cooked...the marinated ribeye was not actually rib eye meat and tough when cooked...the marinated bone in ribs was bland and fatty. All these meats are the stars of a KBBQ but the quality was not there.....other elements of side dishes...dips and stews were missing. Rice was also not the proper rice. I say this because the name gives the wrong impression as to what to expect. I guess I'm just disappointed that it was not anywhere authentic as it could be. I went here yesterday and i was alittle disappointed. We went for lunch for the first time. The meat slicer wasnt working for the first 20 mins we were there. I understood it wasnt anyones fault. Our waiter on the other had forgot a bunch of our food. It was alittle annoying having to remind him. Not sure it was a off day but we go here all the time.
