We enjoyed our takeouts. Over all was much better than any other local Chinese restaurants in terms of flavor, greasiness and saltiness. Grilled fish: Not heavily seasoned , right amount of saltiness which is a huge plus for me. Some MSG ( I forgot to request NO MSG). But over all decent. I specially liked all mixed veggies in the dish, such as fresh bamboo shoots, black fungi, tofu, Chinese cauliflower, lotus, celery, Chinese asparagus, etc. this dish could be a 5 stars if used little oil. I had to use paper towel to degrease before eating it. Otherwise, nice aroma and soothing taste. Double-cooked pork. This dish is considered as a benchmark for any Sichuan cuisine restaurants. This one was very average. Excessive oil used in the dish made it less enjoyable. The dish was somewhat overcooked. It tasted too dry and no nice Guoqi. I couldn't taste flavor from fermented black beans. A pity. Wuxi ribs. Way too much oil! Too greasy! Cumin tofu. Enjoyed by my family. I had some dry red chill pepper pieces. Nice right amount of heat to mine for me. But pleasant. Shouldn't Green Tea be healthy and light ? A keeper for Sichuan food. It could be a real star if they cut down the amount of oil they used in all dishes. read more

Everything! Food service and Asian ambiance. Food is authentic. Staff is amazing. Very nice and accommodating. No American Chinese here. Good authentic food. So tasty. read more

Absolutely would recommend!! Great spicy peanuts as a starter that's given when you sit down, delicious wonton soup and soup dumplings. We got a dry pot (chicken) and spicy style (tofu) and both were delicious. I got my dry pot slightly less spicy (my spice tolerance is low) and it was perfect. My partner got the spicy style (much higher tolerance) and he also loved it. The food came quickly and the staff working there was so incredible kind. read more

Been here twice. First time the dumplings and lo mein were pretty good and our waitress was very nice. Complimentary tea was served to us and much appreciated. Only problem I had was that the sink in both bathrooms basically did not work. There was virtually zero water pressure so it's very difficult to wash your hands. Returned on a Friday night. Our waitress was friendly enough but never brought tea until we ordered it. That's no big deal though. I ordered the steamed chicken dumplings and the rice noodles with chicken. The dumplings were just not good this time. The outer noodle dumpling was good and cooked al dente, but the chicken filling inside had a very odd and unpleasant taste to it and I had to spit it out. The chicken rice noodle was alright, not my favorite but not bad. But what was bad was that I found a small hair wrapped up in the noodles. I know for a fact it wasn't my hair because my hair is very long. I didn't want to bring it up or make a big deal out of it because everyone at the restaurant was so friendly- but when they came and asked if I wanted to wrap it up to take home, I just politely and quietly let them know what I found in it. Our waitress kind of apologized, but I was left feeling bad like I was being unreasonable by even bringing it up. Anyway, we get the check and I see that not only is the rice noodle with the hair in it on the bill, but they also charged us for the tea this time. :( I also started feeling sick and had bowel issues later that night and into the next morning. Which leads me to this moment struggling on the toilet as I write this review. I don't think I could recommend this place or ever come back, which is unfortunate because the people that work there/maybe own it, seem very nice. read more

Food was absolutely outstanding. Slayed every category of critique. Service was kind and polite, and did not take too long. Environment was very homely and comfortable. Would definitely recommend the soup dumplings and soup again. Stay blessed. read more

While the ambience and service were average but fairly typical for a more traditional Chinese tea the food was absolutely outstanding. We had the Sichuan crispy chicken which had the perfect amount of spice, the sting beans, and the Singapore curry noodles. read more

Food here is wild. As close to authentic you can get. Spice level is great and their numbing spice menu items are also tasty. I highly recommend their spicy flat rice noodles as a side to any of their meat dishes. Their hotpot portions are smaller but very dense and goes perfectly with rice or noodles. Only taking off one star because sometimes their food can be salty. But even when it's salty my husband and I eat every bit of it read more

Outstanding food and service. The best Chinese food in the area. The staff is always friendly and helpful.

We are frequent visitors here. Would come more often if food wasn't as salty... but it's delicious!

staff yelled that 20% is not enough. Very inappropriate, they need to be professional - restsurant wide issue not one staff. Restaurant has decent food for the cost but one can't ignore being treated like a thief for not tipping 30% - expect less its on the campus if a poor university read more

In an area seemingly saturated with excellent traditional Chinese food, particularly with a Szechuan focus, Green Tea manages to stand out. The fare rivals what one would usually expect in Flushing or Midtown, and often exceeds expectations. I remember telling my friends that I have never been disappointed by a meal here... and I've made my way through a good part of the menu in the past few years. The quality of the food is tantamount only to that of the service, with a warm and lively atmosphere that- despite the occasional full-house- has never left me feeling neglected by staff. The one challenge here is perhaps the hardest to fix: parking! I suspect the property was not designed to house a restaurant of such quality and appeal. A short walk from the adjacent train station is an easy- and well-worth-it- solution. read more

The restaurant isn't very clean. You can see that from the entrance. We had seafood rice which I do not recommend because the seafood were all baby and just low quality. The shrimp with broccoli wasn't bad as although the shrimp was a bit chewy. Finally the dumplings were just weird. I would not recommend them. They were stuffed with spinach and the mushrooms had a strong smell and tasted smoky. Mera's Tip: have a cup or two of green tea. read more

This is the only place that I know of in Suffolk county that has such great Chinese food. The menu has a variety of items, If you choose to try something that you would never dare I'm sure they made it tasty. Whenever I come here I get the sautéed green bean, try it you'll understand why I can't go without them. The braised fish (flounder) in chili sauce isn't too spicy. You can request how hot you want it. Everything was very fresh and flavorful ( fresh is flavorful). The waiter was very patient and answered all of my friends questions. The prices are within normal range ( I'm a nurse , can't help my lingo). Thy also have take out and delivery from hungry panda delivery app. Go and enjoy!! read more

Being raised in a Chinese family and having grown up with Chinese home cooking as well as the great authentic eats of flushing queens I know good Chinese food when I see it. While these guys do a great job for the area some of their traditional Chinese dishes are lacking MAPO TOFU - could use more salt and spice DRY POT - actually one of the better things on the menu, very seasoned if not salty and a bit oily but packed with flavor CRYSTAL SHRIMP DUMPLING - solid job, not bad not anything extraordinary SEAFOOD PANCAKE - some Chinese American spots make a deep fried version of scallion pancake which while good is a departure from the chewy, flaky and scallion-forward version I prefer. This spot makes the former read more

I couldn't finish them all but I took it home and had them the next day. I also ordered the iced passion fruit tea. It was very delicious! Hubby's dinner stole the show with the Satay Beef Sizzling!! I have been here at least three or four times and every time has been an excellent experience. One of my favorite Asian food joints in Stony Brook. Green tea makes amazing fried rice ( the most authentic Indian Chinese fried rice you can find in the area). Green tea is my go-to place for a tasty comfort meal. The fried scallion pancakes were delicious, as was the cumin lamb. Love their spicy peanuts as well. This isn't a fancy sit-down restaurant, but their food is reliably authentic, flavorful, and reasonably priced- thus perfect for a casual meal with some friends or some take out to enjoy at home. My wife has been wanting to try for lunch so we did!! Very very surpised. Spinach / vegetable dumplings were cooked and created to perfection. Awesome vegetable filling and and dumpling was fresh and not starchy at all. My qife got the shrimp walnut mayonaise sauce special.. not on my diet but had to have one. Very very good!!! I got the highly varied mixed vegetables with mushrooms (and a Chinese mushroom I can't remember what its called) but unique and different and flavorful. Th colors and perfectly cooked vegetables ware clearly notable. Brown rice was also cooked perfect just had to notate. Service was a triple team, water glass.filled never wanting anything affair. They were packed as well so.... Well done folks!! read more

A nice and clean place with super friendly service. Dining area is open and bright with a semi open kitchen that can't really been but you can hear the chefs and you can def small the amazing aromas eminating from the clanging pots and woks lol. Food is pretty good and the portion sizes are generous esp considering the price point. Will return when we are back in the area read more

Waitress was demanding us to pay more tip??? We felt peer pressured, trapped and shocked. The tip we gave was the tip we wanted to give. It was very disrespectful. We should have took the tip we originally gave back for how rude that was. You are not suppose to look at the customer when they are paying. Very bad service. The way she said it was very mocking as well " dont you think this is too little?" At the moment we just wanted to resolve the problem but now that we are out of the restaurant, we are able to think clearly... That was very rude and we should have stood up for ourselves. read more

Decent Chinese restaurant, fast service and good food. Food: Ordered three dishes. They were decent Chinese food. Not bad, but not mind blowing. The Peking rib is good if you like meat covered with sweet sauce. The fish soup is spicy and it'll sneak up on your throat. You can ask them for no spice. Stirred fried bean sprout is great, definitely recommended. Experience: Food came out quickly, but the quality was still there. Dishes were dirty, there were pieces of rice on my clean bowl. The service is good, waiter is responsive. TLDR: decent Chinese food with fast service. Rice is not included with dishes. Good for small groups. read more

Double Cooked pork is to Szechuan Restaurant as to pasta alla carbonara to Authentic Rome Cuisine. If it ain't got it it ain't legit. The first time I went there with my friend the service was passable but we had to wait a long time for the waitress to acknowledge us. The food was good. The second time we went there, after paying she demanded a 15% + tip eventho I tipped her 10%. She rudely started telling me to tip and stared me down. I did tip more because I did not want any argument. As I was also taking a takeout, and needed a bag...she literally threw the plastic bag on my jacket and huffed away. Mind you that the service was terrible, not once did she come during our lunch to ask us if we needed anything and it wasn't a busy hour. I would not recommend anyone to go here unless you are ready to pay 15% tip for terrible service and mediocre food. read more

Server yelled at us for not giving 20% tip, told us if we don't have enough to tip 20% to never come back! Terrible!

Wanted to get something spicy and the menu here was quite interesting. My friend is not into spicy so we had the challenge of finding a place that could accommodate. I ordered the fish in chili sauce and the double cooked pork w leek. His choices were sesame chicken and cold noodles. My spicy dishes were no problem and tasty too. His though, weren't quite up to par but mostly because of mis communication. Cold noodles ordered he wanted cold sesame noodles and they brought jelly noodles, we had to reorder the dish (second time worked) and his sesame chicken was more of an orange chicken flavor. Overall service was quite good though we got charged for both noodle dishes. I will come back but my friend will not be as eager. read more
