I do not know if this is Americanized Chinese food but I know it is very enjoyable Chinese food. Whenever I am not feeling well I order the mixed vegetable soup (tofu with mixed veggies) I feel that it's better than opening a can of Campbell's soup. I'm disappointed that China 4 is not DoorDash-able because anytime I DoorDash from a listed takeout, I am disappointed. Ordering is the same as anywhere else. Circle the item number and price for the size you want (pint or quart). The food is prepared quickly and you can see right into the kitchen. I have NEVER had an ick moment there. White walls and floor tiles, obligatory Chinese pictures hanging. You go there for the food not the ambiance but you could certainly eat in. So this review is about transparency Not Quality. And pricing. Period. Food quality has never been an issue. A year or so ago I noted a sign noting an upcharge for credit... 3% I think? This is the only Chinese place I've been to more than once since moving to the area. Only big disappointment, they said they do NOT deliver. The food is good, especially the dumplings and I feel they give you so much. My husband and I ordered the "Family Special." (This is probably meant for more than 3 people.) With the special you get 2 dishes from a select list and it comes with 3 egg rolls, white rice and wonton or egg drop soup. Great deal. They also have the option for a third dish. I have been going to China 4 for about two and a half years now. Just ordered food yesterday. They had been closed for several weeks. There are open again and I am really happy about that. The funny thing is I live in Patchoue and I drive to Holbrook for Chineese food. I probably pass 5 Chineese restaurants to get to China 4. But the food is so good. My Aunt lives in Holbook. She asked me where did you get this food from. I told her China 4 behind CVS PHARMACY RIGHT NEXT TO OUTBACK STEAK HOUSE. She has been going there too along with my cousins and there families. My coworker recommended this place years ago. This place is solid. I gave them 5 stars for a couple reasons. The food is tasty and fresh as far as fast food goes. Meat is never rubbery like some other low quality Chinese restaurants. The food is always consistent and never had a bad surprise. I have been coming here since they opened in 2003ish. It has stayed cleaned and its the same owner/cook since its inception. As a seafood lover, they have a few items i don't often find at other places. Like steamed shrimp dumplings and sesame shrimp. Both delish. They also have "family plans" which cover almost all of popular choices that get ordered. You can choose from the 15 or so dinner items, either 2 or 3 meals, which come with egg rolls, soda etc... which would save ya some bucks. A nice option when feeding the family. Recently i had some miscommunication on an item in a big order. The owner couldn't have been nicer, apologize for the mix up and didn't charge me the difference for the more expensive item i originally ordered, which i feel is the correct thing to do, but not always the case at some Chinese food restaurants. This is the very best Chinese takeout I've had on Long Island. This may sound weird but their food doesn't taste "unhealthy" or "greasy". Usually after Chinese takeout, I get that heavy feeling in my stomach pretty much akin to "Lord, why did I eat that even if if tasted so good?" But even their fried rice is light and yet sooo tasty. I highly recommend their wonton soup or any of their dinner specials. General Tsos chicken is amazing. Ask them to spice it up and man will they deliver. Their portion size is also pretty large so one dinner or lunch is big enough to share. Their prices are average (under $10) but I would gladly pay a little more because I don't have to deal with the heavy feeling in my stomach afterwards. A MAJOR con is that they don't deliver. It is really inconvenient but we just suck it up and call ahead to pick it up. If they started to deliver, I would change this review to 5 stars in a heartbeat. The staff is not super friendly but they are not waiting on you - you're speaking to them at the counter- but they are polite. One perk is that if you wish them a Happy New Year (during Chinese New year) they throw in a beautiful calendar at no charge. A nice extra costing you nothing but a few kind words. Overall great food, great prices and a nice Neighborhood find. read more

I've tried every other Chinese place in the Holbrook/Ronkonkoma area. This is by far the best. The food is fresh, not too greasy, I don't feel gross after I eat it like with most other Chinese food places. The kung pao chicken is one of my favorites and the kids love their lo mein noodles! My favorite Chinese fast food in the USA. I know that dumplings are dumplings but their dumplings are the best. If I could only eat one thing for the rest of my life I could see myself choosing the dumplings at China 4. Also, I would ask the person giving me this choice why I had to make such an insane choice. Best Chinese I've had here on the Island (although I've only been here about 6 months). Very good noodles. Personally I almost always get the General Tso and Lo Mein. Very clean place. Staff isn't the most welcoming in the world, but they get the job done efficiently. I've never had an issue with my order and the food is delicious. I absolutely love this place their chicken is made of like a white meat so it doesn't taste rubbery and greasy. I always get the chicken and broccoli with pork fried rice dinner combo my fav.the staff isn't the friendliest but they will get you order done on time and make it very tasty. Really great chinese food here...we used to get it once a week before we started dieting. My favorite is the shrimp and broccoli and the general tsos. i like that they offer brown rice and all white meat as healthier alternatives. The cashier ladies can be short with you but maybe it's just the fact that they're foreign and english is their second language (no offense intended).
