Love this hot pot place! It's close by to my house where whenever I'm craving something hot and savory, I can easily come here in just a short drive. The broths are tasty, and I love the selection of complimentary appetizers at the sauce bar!! We always load up on the edamame, peanuts, cold potato, wood ear mushroom, and more! The sauce bar also has a decent number of toppings and add ons! I thoroughly enjoy the meats, shrimp balls, and veggies (like the corn included in the broth)! The staff are nice and we always leave the place very stuffed. Definitely check out if you want nice comforting hot pot!

I love the decor of this place. It can take you back to authentic China. The food option was great and food was excellent. They have a sauce station with 3 popular sauce recipes to follow. Service was great... I highly recommend this place if you like hotpot!

BEST FIND - Potasia is one on my best finds in 2022. I am glad I found this. I would highly recommend this place for groups. The restaurant has 3 variety of soup bases mostly pork based and trust me there are DELICIOUS and very limited options for vegetarian. The sides like peanuts, scallions, cilantro, sesame seeds, sauces, garlic on the dedicated section and it is unlimited. They have ton of meat options and my personal favorite is dumplings . If you're a desi from south and enjoys Rasam, here is an additional tip: order a side of rice and have it with the soup.

Sadly turned away our party of 4 at 5:45pm on New Years Sunday as their next available seating was at 7pm... wish they had mentioned a reservation was needed when we called to see if they were open and serving their regular menu. A heads up would've been nice!! Plus most of the booths and tables on left side were still empty...oh well. Next time

A friend took me to an appointment with the understanding that we would have a late lunch afterwards. There was really no hot pot places in the area [we always went to Queens]. She, of course, found Potasia. It is a clean, spacious place with large comfortable booths. Each table has individual hot pots. You choose your pot of broth, choose your protein and assorted vegetables and noodles, let them cook in the broth and enjoy. The food is a la carte. The broths are very tasty and can be customized to taste. There are vegetarian options and an extensive dipping sauce bar. There are set menus for lunch and dinner. The food is very fresh and the staff friendly and very accommodating. Bubble tea topped off the meal. It is very reasonably priced and I would recommend and return.

If you are looking for a different kind of a food experience, just step right up! If you have never been here or to a hotpot place it can be confusing but I will try to break it down simply. The tables have heating elements and you order a soup and raw ingredients to cook in it. Order a small for one person and just so you know, the spicy soup is hellishly hot if you order the medium! Like so hot, it makes you cough, sweat and cry. Anyway I'm glad that I did not order that but my son did and liked it! After deciding on the right soup, you get to pick your ingredients. There are so many to chose from and it is very easy to over order. I got the vegetable platter which had cabbage, spinach, potato, carrot and bok choy. This could have easily fed 2-4 people depending on what else was ordered. I didn't know that each order was going to be gigantic so I also ordered yam, frozen tofu, tofu puffs and hand pulled noodles. I thought each was going to be one serving and I was dead wrong!! My son ordered beef, chicken, ramen and dumplings. There were quite a few very interesting things on the menu but we just couldn't order any more than we did. This was enough food for 6 people! The waitress must have been laughing inside when we ordered all of that! So while you wait for everything to come, you go to the back and make up your sauces. There is a whole wall of ingredients! They have 3 "recipes" you can follow to make different kinds of sauce. Spicy, hot & sweet etc. which are a jumping off point. I made the hot & sweet one, a vinegar based one and a peanut sauce with scallions. They also have some things that you can have as an appetizer. So you cook and eat, cook and eat. When your soup put gets low, they fill it up again. My favorite things were the bok choy, spinach, noodles, the frozen tofu and the tofu puffs although I wouldn't get both tofu's next time unless I was there with a bunch more people. The dumplings were good and so were the ramen noodles which were called egg noodles on the menu. I would definitely revisit Potasia and be much smarter about ordering!

14 pieces Sliced Beef and 14 pieces Sliced Lamb. They also brought Beef Tripe, which we did not request!

I was visiting some friends on Long Island on a Sunday night and we decided to give this hot pot restaurant a shot. Nassau has zero options for hot pot so I got excited to try it. Restaurant is colorful and has cute decor. Had some pop music playing inside. You definitely have to call in advance for a reservation because the seating is somewhat limited. Also, it's not All You Can Eat. You have to individually pay for each of your ingredients, which can be very pricey if you order a lot of them. Wasn't a fan of $5.99 for half an ear of corn. Now as for the ingredients, they all tasted good for the most part. Udon Noodles were my personal favorite. The corn was nice and sweet. I also loved the fish and beef balls. Tofu was tasty. The Sliced Beef and Lamb were okay (not great). Shrimp Dumplings - pass. These tasted off. As for the broth base, unfortunately the spicy mild broth was pretty underwhelming. The spices overpowered the broth and it didn't have much flavor other than the spice. I would say if you can't handle spicy, avoid it. Considering that this broth is mild, it really should not be that spicy! The service left much to be desired. We were brought over beef tripe, though we did not order this, and our mussels were never brought to the table. We told the server that these were not mussels. The server tried to convince us that it was seafood! We told him we never ordered this. Then he later told us that it was beef tripe and it was taken off our bill. However, the mussels didn't come to our table. Very disappointing. Considering the price point and quality, I still prefer hot pot restaurants like Spring Shabu Shabu in NYC. I suppose this gives an experience of what hot pot is like, though a weak one at best. If you're going to advertise yourself as the "first" hot pot restaurant on LI, then your product and service better be extraordinary. You would think? Update: The next day, I got an allergic reaction from the food. Keep in mind that I don't have any underlying food allergies. I will not be returning and would not recommend.

Omg this is one of my fave hot pot place. The sauces are on point and the soup is soooo flavorful! Every time I come here I am overly satisfied! Highly recommend!

So happy to find a great hot pot place in Nassau County! I had plans to meet a friend in the area and she said she was craving hot pot but didn't feel like going all the way to Flushing. I said I think I heard about a hot pot place near her recently, so I looked it up! There are plenty of vegetarian options. We shared combo #1 (various meats and veggies) and added fish balls. Perfect amount of food for two people. The waitress recommended the pork broth, it was REALLY good. I added spicy oil and it was perfect. Great food and service, highly recommend.

Was surprised to see a hot pot place on Long Island. Came here with a friend today to try it out. The interior is gorgeous and it really reminds me of the hot pots in Flushing. There's a good selection of soup bases and veggies (I'm a vegetarian). I got the mushroom soup base and some veggies. Veggies were fresh. I'd say the portion sizes were on the smaller end and the prices were on the pricey side. We ordered around 6-8 veggies and total was around $48 for two people. The service was fantastic and the staff were incredibly friendly. It's hard to find a hot pot place on Long Island. I look forward to coming here again!

Picture looks like hummus ... but the sauce doesn't look like the picture.

Went here last week (Friday) with a friend and enjoyed it so much that I came back two days later with another friend. I would have given this place 5 stars but to be honest with you, with their prices ... I just couldn't. Granted, I don't have to prep or clean up but the fact that an order of udon is $4 and it's just one pack of udon noodles cut in half ... that hurts. The portions aren't big for the price but the fact that their customer service is spot on and the sauces are delicious, I'll come back for more. Side note ... On my second trip there, the bus boy told us that we could take our soups home ... I never thought about it but he said I'd be surprised if I knew the number of people who request their left over soup to go. Gotta say, made some noodles a couple days afterwards and used the soup ... YUMMMMMM!!

    Don't think so.

    Does place offer takeout?

The whole point of hot pot is to sit and cook it yourself on the table. I've seen people take the soup home and food so I would think that they do but it's more fun to eat it there and make the sauces.

    Is this place halal?

    I do not believe so

First off, yeah its a bbq/ hotpot kind of joint. AYCE of course. I have to say the little personal hotpots they give us are cute. The broth choices doesn't seem to matter tbh. Eventually you're chucking all types of seafood and meats that will make your broth good regardless. The pot is a bit on the smaller side if you choose 2 different broths. Hoping the 1 flavor one would be bigger but its the same. Cause of the split pot inside. As for the choices it's pretty standard hotpot stuff. Nothing too crazy to write home about. The grill side was a bit on the disappointment. Sure they have "marinated meats" but when I went they just chuck frozen galbi on top of the marinated meat. Not sure if they didn't have enough time for prep but I felt like the workers are just throwing things in for us animals to eat regardless of flavors. The cook station and sushi station was probably the most disappointing stations of them all. Majority of the cooked foods were cold. you would assume theres some kind of heat light warmer or steam bath to keep the foods warm but nope... most of them were just out and about and cold. The sushi station was lack lustered... selections were limited. Just your average carb city and fillers. The sashimi were not appealing imo. Overall, i felt like this place maybe good for younger audiences or family outings. Kids will like it cause of all the different types of fried/fast food styles. Also... just a tip for some of you out there. If you see raw oysters and raw clams with ice cubes on them... it's for HOT POT to COOK THEM IN! If you want the legit ones goto the sushi station for them... DONT EAT THE ONES AT THE HOTPOT STATION! MOST LIKELY YOU WILL GET SICK IF YOU DO! I'm pretty sure their were signs that state that ...but saw some of these "adults" SLURPING AWAY before even making it to the table... and im like...bro is gonna be on the toilet for sure... I will preface this by saying I consider K-city a 5/5 for Long Island - probably a 4/5 if K-city was in Queens tbh. If i was in the Nassau area I default to K-city vs. Kpot! I mainly go to K-city for the hotpot vs. the kbbq/hot food selection. The bbq is okay but the grill itself is pretty small. The prepared food selection is also okay, includes both hot food & sushi but I mainly consider it as food to eat while my hotpot is getting ready (lol). The broths are very legit with the variety offered being spicy (mala with the Szechuan peppercorns), mushroom, pork bone, herbal ( I believe is a mix of pork & chicken + herbs), tomato and mushroom. My favorite thus far have been the spicy & herbal! I appreciate that the meats are also included in the buffet section as well so I can control the quantity as opposed to some other hotpot/bbq places where the meats come pre-portioned. I think the main drawback of K-City as opposed to Spring Shabu (my personal 2nd favorite choice in nassau) is definitely the veggie selection & quality. Having said that, the veggie selection is okay and has the main things I get like the enoki mushrooms, napa cabbage, broccoli and noodles.

Global Buffet is a huge restaurants inside a large brick building and is hard to miss. There is plenty of parking as it sits in a large shopping area. We came on a random weekday and I was surprised how busy this place was. We were a slightly large group so it did take a minute for them to put some tables together. Customer service was great from start to finish. Our table stayed clean and our drinks stayed full. My uncle footed the bill, but I glanced at the prices and they are very reasonable here. The buffet setup is massive. I've honestly only seen bigger in Vegas. They had about 3 rows of foods. On top of that, off to the side, they have salad and dessert bars, a hibachi station, and a large sushi station. As the name of the restaurant suggests, the offerings are truly global. They have a variety of different cuisines but the main focus is Chinese food. I had a flight to catch after this meal so I took it a little easy on my intake. I started off with sushi. For a buffet, the sushi was actually pretty decent. Set your expectations correctly and you will enjoy it. Everything else I tried throughout the buffet was good. No complaints from anyone in our party. Overall, for a Chinese buffet, this spot was not bad at all. I wouldn't seek it out or feel compelled to come back, but would not complain if the family brought us back here again.

I unfortunately had to spit things out with 3 different items I tried. Two were unable to be chewed. One was a spicy beef, I could not bite into the meat or cut it. The second calamari, rubber and hard, just don't. The last was a cake a nepolian I belive and it was stale and the cream was oddly solid. There was some decent food but nothing to write home about. The service isn't bad, but it was definitely awkward. The staff is attentive, but they will stand over you and speak to each other in their native language as if you are not there. I would say avoid this place.
