This time, I ordered the Bayside Trio (I think that was the name). One Lump Crabcake over a bed of yellow rice, 3 grilled shrimp, and 2 baked clams served with charred broccoli. Can I just say that the broccoli was one of the best part of the meal? I think that speaks volumes. Where to begin? Lets just get the worst of it out of the way. The Lump Crabcake- (lump Crabcake generally implies that the crab is of good quality) -wasn't. No chunks of crab meat-just mush. Was it the same as the "Maryland Crabcake" listed in the appetizer section? The waitress said yes. Let me tell you, it was NOTHING like a Maryland Crabcake. I'm actually embarrassed for Bayside Clambar for trying to pass off this little crabby patty as a Maryland crab cake. If I was Maryland, I'd sue Bayside for defamation and slander, for them trying to pass their sad little clump of whatever-it-is as a Maryland Crabcake! To me, that was the worst offense, that sad little stepsister...nay, distant cousin ... to the mighty Maryland Crabcake. As if that wasn't bad enough, it was pretty god-awful to eat. I left half of the pathetic little thing on my plate. The shrimp? Undercooked and tough. I left 1 1/2 of the 3 of them on my plate. The rice? Meh, but not horrible. I still left most of it on my plate. Thank Gods the baked clams and the broccoli were delicious-not a crumb of either were left behind. The waitress's lack of care when I told her that this plate was less than mediocre didn't help much. It's official-Bayside Clambar is on my list of places to avoid. I might suggest you do the same and save yourself from disappointment.

Like the other reviews stated the man behind the bar also serves the tables, we had to order at the bar and get our drinks from the bar. They have a full bar, so if a beer or cocktail is wanted you do have options there as well. The Mr selected the Chilled Shrimp & Crab Stack, but eliminated the hard boiled egg aspect and thought it was light, tasty and refreshing. I opted for the Faroe Salmon with shrimp that came accompanied/on top of a risotto and peas. I thought cooked medium was perfect making it soft and fork flaky to mix along together. It was a very juicy sizable piece making it very filling. We didn't have time for a dessert, but noted they did have a few offerings there. I got the chickpea fries and was surprised by the texture. It was almost custard like with a slight chickpea flavor in a very light breading. Served with the harissa aioli it made for a nice app. After a while I decided to try the Filet mignon sliders, which I ordered medium rare, the bartender said they don't usually take a temp on those but he'd note it. The meat is sliced very thin but was tender and still had a bit of red. The arugula gave it a nice peppery bite. My only critic is the slider roll was very cottony, but the overall taste was very good. I'll definitely be back and will try something off the regular menu.

I was greeted immediately and given a regular menu and a specials menu. A cup of coffee almost magically appeared and I have to say it was one of the best cups of restaurant coffee I've ever had! They have an extensive menu, everything from pancakes to waffles, eggs in every iteration you can imagine, to oatmeal! I decided on a spinach/mushroom/onion omelet with home fries a side of bacon and rye toast. You choose omelets come with one filling, additional are $1 each. The omelet was good but was helped by some salt & pepper. The home fries were tasty with just the right amount of onion but the bacon was overcooked for my taste though I know many people like theirs extra crispy. There were two waitresses and they both were friendly and attentive. By the time I was ready to leave every table was taken but there were still seats at the counter. I ordered the Brooklyn Summer draft while my husband went with the Coconuts for You cocktail. He absolutely went coconuts for it (I had to!!). He said it reminded him of our honeymoon in Hawaii, and after a sip, I could definitely see why. The chicken had a really nice kick of spice that elevated the classic dish without overpowering it, while the Seafood Fra Diavolo was packed with fresh seafood and bold, flavorful sauce. Even though we were full, dessert was a must. We shared a tartufo along with a chocolate cherry espresso martini, which was the perfect sweet ending to an already fantastic meal (the martini may not have been shared.) Between the welcoming service, delicious food, creative cocktails, and the ambience, Jackson Hall knocked it out of the park. We can't wait to come back and try even more of the menu!
