Millennium Diner in Smithtown earns a solid three stars from me. It is a classic diner with all the basics you would expect, but nothing that really stands out. The ambience is decent with a typical diner layout, plenty of booths, and a casual atmosphere. It is comfortable enough, but it feels a bit dated and could use some refreshing to make it more inviting. The service was ok. The staff was polite but not particularly attentive. It took a while to get seated even though there were open tables, and the wait for someone to take our order felt longer than it should have been. Throughout the meal the service was inconsistent. Sometimes it was easy to get a refill or ask a question, and at other times it felt like we were completely overlooked. Nothing was terrible, but nothing really impressed either. The food was also just ok. The menu is standard diner fare, which is fine, but several dishes needed more flavor or better execution. Portions were good, and everything came out warm, but the overall quality felt average at best. It is the type of meal that fills you up but doesn't leave you excited to return. Overall Millennium Diner delivers an acceptable dining experience, but it does not go beyond that. The service is ok, the ambience is ok, and the food is ok. First off they came to our table very quickly and gave us drinks very nicely. A very warm and welcoming environment for all to come eat as we came for breakfast. This is the diner of my youth having grown up in Smithtown . When the pub we were at closed the kitchen we needed an alternative and I quickly remembered this diner . It failed to meet even the lowest expectations and was just a sad experience . I have a rule about diners , especially ones with a 7 page menu complete with pictures . It's very simple : Burgers Fries Eggs Maybe a Turkey Club Stick to that and you should be ok . We didn't . The good Fries were good . I know that's hard to mess up but we need some positives here . I ordered a Cobb salad It was just fair The hard boiled egg had a green yolk as it was likely over cooked . But all in all it was at least edible It ends there We ordered a cheese Quesadilla that was frankly inedible . We ordered pretzel bites ....well I should have taken a picture . A shape I have never witnessed , but they had virtually no salt and were rock hard . You could have broken a tooth on them . We asked for honey mustard . I'm still trying to process the concoction we were served . It was like French's mustard , with maybe a bit of Golden Blossom added and a strong taste of Vinegar . Honey mustard is a pretty standard thing . This was in a class of its own . The food came with these warm pita triangles which while we did not partake , were warm and perhaps the least offensive thing we were served . Our waiter was nice enough , but fell asleep next to the glass partition on the other side of our table . But I partially blame myself . If I had ordered a cheeseburger , or an omelette ,maybe this review would be different . But I'll never know because unfortunately I would not go back . read more

We are lucky that Long Island has countless diners to choose from, and usually, of the highest quality. That justifies the higher prices that you'll see for seemingly regular dishes, like a simple breakfast plate or even a regular burger. I made sure to try a couple of different dishes from here before I wrote my review. It's disheartening that a diner close to me misses the mark time and time again. A month ago, I got the banana walnut pancakes delivered by DoorDash - I live about five minutes away so I expected it to be warm and fresh. Well, it certainly was warm but fresh? I ate my first bite and recognized the taste immediately - the walnuts were incredibly bitter. Inedibly bitter. If you're baked with walnuts before, you know that very bitter walnuts mean they are rancid. While I rarely complain to DoorDash, I did to get my money back. Last night, I craved a Turkey burger with fries and a piece of lemon meringue pie, a simple order that I felt was hard to mess up. When I took a bite of the Turkey burger, it felt flat and flavorless. I looked at it and it was incredibly thin and flat. No, I didn't take a picture because at that point, I hadn't eaten for the whole day, it was 11PM, and I wanted to down my calories and move on to sleeping. But there is no way that they made it fresh - it had the look and taste of an old, budget, freezer burned turkey patty. The lemon meringue pie was okay, although some of meringue was super sticky/marshmellowy, which tastes good haha, but also tells me that the lemon meringue pie likely wasn't made that day (how meringue can change). I hate to say it, and you can check my reviews because I don't give 1 or 2 stars often, but I unfortunately do not recommend this diner. There are too many in the area, like Island Lake, that take pride in the food they make and match the prices that they charge with the quality they provide. This is not one of them. read more

The Millennium Diner has been a Smithtown institution for decades and still going strong. You can always come here anytime of day for home-cooked style comfort food. Their Manhattan Clam Chowder is best around hands down as is their Cheeseburger Deluxe. Diner classics all the way! Service is always warm and welcoming. I always feel like I'm being doted on by my mom!They really do care about the customer's experience. We've been coming here for years and always have had satisfying experiences either for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. I have been coming to this diner ALMOST every week for about a year. I always get 1 of 3 things, Burger and Fries Platter, a Gyro, or a breakfast platter like an omelet or something with eggs. I haven't been here in a few weeks. I had to take some time off from work for health issues. When I came back I ran to the diner for a Bacon Cheese Burger and fries platter, and coffee. Now look, I realize times are tough and food is expensive, but $30 for a bacon cheeseburger and fries and a cup of coffee. It's far more excessive than I'm willing to deal with. I know other diners with food that's just as good that doesn't cost as much. I feel like there's a bit of price gouging going on here. Just because it's Smithtown doesn't mean that you have to break someone's bank for a cooked meal. The prices were not this high 2 months ago. With tip it used to cost about $26. This came to $30 today, and that's without the tip. If it were any place else, I would've refused the order. Unfortunately, as much as I truly love this place I will not be eating here anymore because I simply cannot afford it. If and when I feel like a burger in the future, I'll have to hit up Burger King or McDonald's down the road. read more

I made the mistake of ordering some dessert items from them via a delivery app. One cream pie slice, one fruit pie slice both ala mode, chocolate pudding and a big cookie No cream pie arrived and they sent a disgusting old gummy slice of lemon pie, a hard old stale slice apple pie, ice cream that tasted like freezer burn and a chocolate chip cookie that had chocolate chips on top that had oxidized and turn WHITISH as chocolate does when it expires..I suspect this rock hard cookie was made sometime in the early 2000s. oh and the chocolate pudding...tasted like refrigerator and onions and had hard lumps in it. The waitress... she's the one you know has been working in diners since she was a teenager and really just has no will to live left in her. The food was good, but the buffalo chicken wrap doesn't have any buffalo sauce in it apparently, make sure to ask for some or you'll just get chopped up chicken fingers. It's an expensive place but so many diners are nowadays. Popped in after a cool yelp event next door and I easily could have just grabbed a slice of pizza on the way home, but those waffle fries did really hit the spot! Been to this diner a couple times in the past. Service and food is usually pretty good. Like all diners the menu is huge with a lot of options. Typically we get the breakfast items. My boys shared the hungry man special so they had a little of everything. They loved the sausages. One of the bacon slices was cooked really well and the other slice seemed a little undercooked. This place has really horrendous food, slow service (but a lovely waitress) & I'm actually surprised it had as many people eating there as it did. I got a junior Greek salad with chicken. The side of pita was hard. The Greek dressing was super creamy (not a vinaigrette). The Greek salad was missing grape leaves. The chicken was over cooked and bland-- it actually tasted kinda reheated. The salad lettuce was watery. The people are lovely, but the food really wasn't up to snuff. Patronized this diner many times over the years, always had a good meal but that was a number of years ago. I was in Smithtown recently and decided to stop in, as my go-to Old Street Pub was jam-packed at 5pm. I have never posted a negative review of any restaurant until now, as this was the absolute worst food I've had in memory. The good news: the waitress was very good, as was the greek salad served with dinner. The pork chop was clearly cooked earlier and sent back to the walk-in: flavorless/dry shoe leather. The "stuffed shrimp" that came with it was drowned in an acrid slurry of bread crumbs and liquid. The 2 "baked clams" could have been eaten through a straw, also tasteless unless you go for metallic/acrid accents. I have never sent back a meal, and I did not send this back. Since I had not eaten for almost 24 hours, I took a gamble with no ill after effects. This diner used to be great, and I suspect different ownership from the last time I was there 6-7 years ago.I wrote the whole thing off as I was hungry and tired but, I am certain 90% of customers receiving the kind of food I ordered would have rejected it on sight. read more

if i could i would give 0 stars this place is just gross me my dad and my sister wanted to get some breakfast my dad saw this diner and said we should check it out. We walked in and the place immediately felt off the lady at the front greeted us and brought us to a sticky table a few seconds later our waiter walked over he asked us what drinks we wanted i asked for a water my sister asked for a diet coke my dad asked for a coffee when i got we all got out drinks the cups smelled like vomit i brushed it off but we didn't know what was incoming. The waiter came back and we placed our orders me and my sister got the farmers omelette which has ham,bacon,American cheese, and sausage my dad got the hungry man breakfast which was 2 eggs 2 bacon's 2 toast 2 pancakes and 2 sausages. First of all me and my sisters omelette was wet soggy and tasted disgusting it looked smelled and tasted like dog food we both didn't even finish half of the so called "omelette" the toast was burnt and the potatoes that came with both me and my sister's omelette tasted like dirt it smelled like pennies and vomit inside the establishment my dad said his food was just disgusting he said the eggs were cold and wet and he said his bacon and sausage was undercooked his toast was burnt he said the only thing somewhat edible was the pancakes this is the worst diner experience we have ever had gross and disgusting never come here if you value ur taste buds read more
