Saw a post on Instagram about this place and since were in the area decided to try it. It is small restaurant but the customer service is wonderful. Very friendly people. All the staff we encountered was very nice. They gave us a sample of peach cobbler and barbecue chicken when we were waiting for our order it was very good. My son loved the chicken sandwich. The pice of chicken inside was huge and very tasty. My husband had the catfish it was delicious and so was the coleslaw. I had the dark meat chicken. It was very good. My only complaint was that the chicken was so small it almost looked like Cornish hen size but it was so tasty I got over it . The greens were good and so was the cornbread it was very moist. The mac and cheese was was ok. We then got desert. The fried Oreos were so delicious. I we also tried the caramel cake and the 7 up cake both were good too. They also game is another sample of fish and greens while we were waiting on dessert. Only one table inside and two outside. We sat outside they had umbrellas you could put up. Definitely my go to place for a southern fried chicken cooking. Good full size chicken wings portion along with your choice of the sides, can't beat it! The staffs are friendly and courteous, place seems small but definitely worth the drive, pick it up, and head back home so you can enjoy your wings while relaxing & watching TV..... Sad to say because we have ordered from this place in the past with good experiences but today, the Fried Catfish filet came battered differently - not the typical good corn meal batter just tasted like flour. 5 stars for the food and 5 more stars for the service! We just went for the first time, and we already feel like family. The owners are the sweetest people. Jamie came out to our table and talking with her was like talking with your auntie. We let her know my dad was from the south and he told her the food was just like home. They were chopping it up like long lost cousins. All the customers there told us how great the food was and how far they'd traveled to get their food. I swear we had some new best friends by the time we left. Ok but on to the food because that's what you really want to know about, right? We were given a delicious sample of yams, greens, and rice n gravy while we waited. I was thinking oh no- it's gonna be a long wait if they're giving us samples to tide us over. Nope! Food was out in about 10 minutes. My kid devoured her entire huge plate of catfish, fries, corn, and bread. She said the catfish was better than her dads- don't tell him tho. And she's a preteen and pretty hard to impress. Dad got links, red beans and rice, coleslaw. He was literally drooling over it and kept on having to stop eating to let out a "oooooweee!" I recently attended a wedding reception that was beautiful, but the quality of the food was horrible. The menu consisted of smothered turney wings, mashed potatos, corn, meat loaf, and salad. The turkey wings wasn't fully cooked, the meat loaf was mush, and the mashed potatos were instant(box) runny. She didn't even provide any drinks. I would not recommend that anyone book her for any special events due to the quality of the food;as it was unapperizing. Decided to try this place out after seeing it pop up on yelp a few times. Happy that I did. The portions were very generous and the food was delicious. I had been wanting to try alligator for years so I got the catfish and alligator combo. The gator was great, with a little bit of a gamey flavor as I like with meat. The catfish was great and the breading was the right thickness. Some cornbread is bland but theirs was the right amount of sweetness, amazing cornbread. I am so happy I read the reviews after ordering over $100 worth of food. Upon entering, we were met with the friendliest face and personality who welcomed us in. The staff who took our order was also very friendly. We went to sit outside to wait (ONLY 20 MINS, for a LOT of food) and he brought us out our drinks while we waited, and even turned on the heater that was outside because he saw we were cold. The food? Nothing short of AMAZING. We got the oxtails, greens, catfish, chicken, yams, Mac & Cheese, shrimp, peach cobbler, fries and koolaid ... I believe that it is all. We walked in and were greeted by the owner and cashier. It's a small, mainly takeout place with chairs outdoors and one table inside. They were friendly from start to beginning. They had a very extensive menu, and the dessert case let me tell you had a flash to my childhood at my grandma's. My son and I got the four wing plates with greens and Mac n cheese. My friend got a snapper plate and side of alligator. Chicken wings: were seasoned perfect. It coulda been a little crisper, but that could have been from the Steam in the Togo container Greens were seasoned well and cooked to my liking Mac n cheese didn't do it for me, but my son loved it Snapper was well fried and seasoned just right. Really good food and big portion, I ate the smoothereed chicken w rice and fries with cajun sauce. The cajun sauce really make the balance with gravy. Next time I will try the catfish for sure. The only thing not really good is the rice, some of it is a bit hard, but everything else is awesome. Everything about the environment, from the music to the warm welcome, made me feel like I was back home hanging out with my family waiting to eat Sunday night dinner. They gave us a sampler to try the shrimp tempura, yams and mac & cheese. Yams were good. Shrimp tempura was nothing special. My fiancé said the Mac & cheese was good. He had the smothered pork chops with roux and let's say the food didn't make it home. Really good food. My mom LOVED the cornbread as well. The homemade lemonade is bomb too. It has so much potential but there is a bitter after taste Indo not like. Is it horseradish? It's a good sauce but that taste creep up on you. I really want to enjoy this place, but I can't seem to get over the fact that every time I order catfish it is either over cooked or very dark which I don't understand. I don't know if it is the oil that they keep reusing or what but I am not a fan of overly cooked fried fish. The sides and desserts are good though. Call in early maybe when they first open if you plan on picking up because it does take a while to get your food. read more

The woman who was behind the counter came outside while we waited and gave us small portions of Alfredo pasta and greens. I think those were my favorite. Although I really liked the pickles and chicken, and fish and chips as well, no sauce was served with anything. Not sure if this was the way it's served or if it was accidentally left out, or if we were supposed to ask...but I was missing the sauce! Portions were generous and the coleslaw that came with the fish and chips was good. Mac n cheese tasted homemade and was nice and cheesy. Bbq beans were good but really sweet.
