Wow, just WOW. This was some of the best Caribbean food I've ever had! We got the jerk chicken plate, a side of mac and cheese, and a bread pudding to share and it was absolutely delicious! The jerk chicken was fall-off-the-bone tender and juicy, and so flavorful. The jerk sauce was sweet and savory with just enough kick and the red beans and rice was the perfect accompaniment. The bread pudding might have been the best I've ever had. That sauce was so good! The portions were generous, we had enough for my boyfriend and I for supper and leftovers for him to take to work for lunch the next day. The staff was so friendly and welcoming and you could just tell they really enjoyed what they were doing and put a lot of love into the dishes. I was in the area and have been wanting to come by. We ordered a bit of everything. We did the oxtail plate, the jerk ribs à la carte, pepper shrimp, curry shrimp, and escovitch fish. Oxtail plate - really tasty, heavy on the sides but a little light on the meat. Another piece would've done it for me. I got extra oxtail gravy which was really good to add on to the rice and peas. Jerk ribs - SO DAMN GOOD!!! Great flavor, fall off the bone, I could easily eat more of that. Don't skip it! Pepper shrimp - eh, it was ok I think. My daughter wanted that so I only had one piece of shrimp mixed with some other things on my own plate. I do think there was only maybe 5-6 shrimps. They were a good size, but again, a 2-3 more pieces would've made it perfect. Curry shrimp - I really enjoyed the curry shrimp and I appreciate that they package the curry shrimp separate from the sides that come with the meal. Definitely going to get those again when I return. Escovitch fish - I had never ordered a whole fried fish before so I was excited. I had escovitch fish when I was in Jamaica but it was served not as a whole fish. I thought it was fried well and had good seasoning. I like the pickling too, I ordered extra. I also ordered a beef patty and an oxtail patty but I haven't eaten them yet. Looking forward to it though. Also, the plates came with cabbage. I'm not sure if it was supposed to be cooked, I've seen that and that's what I expected. But what was on the plate was dry bagged salad like you get from the produce section to make Cole slaw. There was no sauce and it was uncooked. Not sure about that. I ordered online so I didn't really get "service" but the woman at the register was kind and had a warm smile. DELICIOUS Ordered takeout for my mom's bday and it was a huge it. Portions are ginormous!! The meats have all the spices needed without being too spicy to eat. Some of our family members who don't normally eat curried meats due to spice were able to eat and enjoy. A few of our family members tried plantains for the first time and fell in love. We're ordered several things on the menu - highlights for me were the goat and oxtails. I wish I lived closer so I could come more often. Also - the service is A1. I enjoyed the food but a little disappointed the authentic flavors were missing. Jamaican food is known to be very flavorful and tasty with bold spiciness. I didn't get that fiery seasoning smoky signature heat I was craving. The jerk chicken and ribs was falling off the bones but didn't taste freshly cooked. The rice and peas were all dried out and lacking that hint of coconut milk often used when preparing that dish. It came with a side of shredded cole slaw that was not dressed at all just a scoop of plain slaw without any dressing. The plantains and festival were ok too. Here's what to expect there is no grilling or smoking meats. There is no open display of dishes to select from. Everything is prepared in the back. I guess I'm tryna say you don't get a preview before you make a decision. You just hol'ah vibe and hope you get what you pay for. I visited Fiya Spice Caribbean after I won a gift basket that included their seasoning, a bottle of their Fiya Magic hot sauce and a gift card for the restaurant. After I tried the hot sauce I was SOLD. I love spicy sauces and food and before I even had an opportunity to try the food the hot sauce had me hooked. I finished the bottle within the first two weeks of receiving it. When I went to the restaurant I ordered the jerk chicken wings (seven pieces $15.60), a combo plate with oxtail & curry goat (served with red beans & rice, plantains, festival & cabbage slaw $32.24), extra hot sauce on the side, two Soursop with seamoss & ginger juices, one large bottle of their Fiya Magic hot sauce and one small bottle of their Fiya Magic hot sauce to take home. The sauce on the jerk chicken wings was sweeter than I expected it to be. I usually associate anything jerked with spice, but I am also biased because I prefer spicy over sweet sauces on my protein. The wings were still cooked very well and tasted great. The oxtails were flavorful, tender and juicy. The curry goat was my favorite and the most flavorful dish out of everything I ordered. The portion sizes were pretty good as well. The soursop juice was smooth and delicious. The ginger was not overpowering and the juice itself was perfectly balanced. I purchased a juice for a friend who enjoys anything with soursop and they said it was the best soursop juice they've had. They enjoyed it so much they contacted the distributor, Islandboyz Seamoss who makes the juices and learned that the juices are also sold in Vallejo. Their website is https://islandboyzseamoss.com. They have a variety of seamosses and juices. The juices did come frozen because I went to the restaurant towards the end of the day and they were nice enough to check the freezer for the juices when I asked. I did let them thaw in the refrigerator for a couple days. I gave one bottle of hot sauce to a family member who really enjoyed the flavor. While I did not eat at the restaurant, it was very clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful! Overall I enjoyed my meal and juice very much. I will definitely be visiting again to try more items on the menu and for more hot sauce when mine runs out. read more

That could be attributed to the season, so no harm, no foul. It was delicious. The escovitch's one of the best I've had & really compliments the snapper. Been eating oxtail & jerk chicken from here since back when they were a food truck in Oakley back in 2022. My gf has never tried Caribbean food before and once she ate here she immediately became a fan. The girl taking the orders was really sweet and provided us with a great service. Well, I'm happy to report, the spice level was great. I enjoy eating spicy foods and have a fairly high tolerance. The food was spicy enough to cause mild, pleasant pain, but not enough to overwhelm the dish. The spice level was perfect with mixing in the plain cabbage slaw. It has no dressing, because you don't need it...mixing it into the curry was great. The goat was tender, and there were minimal small bone fragments. Their bread is really good too, it tasted somewhat like a fried cornbread. We also ordered two patties- one curry chicken, and one brown stew chicken. Both were super good. Would get it again. Ok Fiya Spice, you better come through!! I have had my eye on this place for a while, I'd actually been wanting to try them when they had the food truck and before the opened the brick and mortar. I finally decided I would try them for their "Soul Food Sunday" special that they have on the 3rd Sunday of the month. Walking inside the restaurant it was so bright and vibrant. I was immediately greeted by the owner and she was so nice. I told her how I'd been dying to try them and made it a point to come that particular day. She went over the Soul Food Sunday menu for me and went over some of the other menu items as well. The menu has a good variety of items, 6 different types of patties, coco bread, jerk chicken/ribs, curry chicken/shrimp, fried fish, brownstew chicken, Rasta Pasta, sandwiches, wraps, sides and desserts. They have a little of something for everyone. I ordered the Oxtail which came with Greens, Mac n Cheese, Yams and Cornbread and I also added a slice of homemade Red Velvet Cake. It was a little on the pricey side BUT it was well worth it and it was a lot of food. The oxtail was cooked to perfection and were practically falling off the bone, they had real good flavor and were so tender. The mac n cheese was cheesing you hear me! It was creamy, cheesy and had a bit of a nutmeg flavor to it. The greens were great as well, tender and they had some meat in them (I'm assuming pork) and had great flavor. The yams were good but a little too sweet for me, I'm not much of a fan of yams but they were good. The cornbread was good and was moist and tasted like cake. Now to the Red Velvet Cake, this thing had some weight on it. It was 4 layers and had the perfect amount of cream cheese frosting. It was so moist and decadent, probably one of the best red velvet cakes I've ever had. It definitely took me a couple days to eat all of this food and the cake. I will definitely be back!! My favorite things are the patties (get the crab and lobster one when they have it and order it ahead) and if you order a la carte get the mac n' cheese and steamed cabbage (trust me, it's so good). I saw this place on instagram and it really lived up to the hype. It is a small operation so have some patience. The food, service and ambience were all on point. I started with a chicken patty. This was one of the most flavor packed patties I've tasted in years. The patty was also large so I didnt feel cheated. It was flaky and buttery on the outside. Definitely the best appetizer you can get along with a pineapple soda. My main dish was the ox tail and jerk chicken combo. This is what you come here for. The chicken tasted slow smoked, juicy and tender. Get your napkins ready because the sauce is absolutely delicious. Your fingers will be knuckle deep in rich sauce. The oxtail was also very tender and its perfect finger food. Mine was a bit fatty, but that's okay because there was enough meat to enjoy it. The plantains were cajun style with a little char on the outside the way I like it. Red beans and rice were okay, a bit dry in my opinion, as was the uncooked cabbage on top and the bread. Overall, this is a place you'd want to try to get your fix of Jamaican food. They also cater which is good to know. I'll be back here monthly for sure. There's no good Jamaican restaurants in my area, so, this was quite a drive for me LOL but I do not regret coming here. The Pattie's reminded me of Pattie's I have had in Jamaica.
