I've been here several times... I absolutely love it!!!! I initially was hooked on the 'create your own' (salad, bowl, burrito etc). The unique selections made for my all time favorite salad. I most recently tried the pre-fabricated brown rice bowl designed by Freshi "Oxaco" with falafel - I'm flat-out hooked.. I will be trying lots more off their menu. This week I bought 2 bowls to split with me and my 2 parents, enough for 3.. and they absolutely loved the rice bowl and kale/spinach salads I brought home. They and I will be back! :) If you get the 'make your own salad' be sure you try the lime cilantro vinaigrette dressing!!! The falafel meat option is also amazing. The ingredients are always fresh, like the name implies! You're not getting Subway style tomatoes and lettuce here, if you know what I mean. I've tried their pre-made drinks as well (Mighty Detox (green one))... this truly tastes like you're eating healthy. When I'm feeling blah after having a weekend full of horrible food choices I pick one up on Monday. I always feel great after eating Freshii! The atmosphere is exactly what I want when I go to grab a bite to eat after the gym, refreshing and welcoming. Depending on the day I may grab a smokehouse burrito with steak or a nice metaboost salad with tofu! If there's ever an issue with my dish the staff are fast to fix it or add something to it. Ok, I've been to this location twice and feel ready to make a proper review for it as I have noticed some common issues with both my visits. I'll start with the service as both times it left something to be desired. During my first I was served right away. Problem is I had to speak up and lean in to place the order because staff in the back room were laughing and carrying on too loudly. The repeated "fuck I was drunk" exclamations from one female employee wasn't needed either. The other issue was that the one guy that was doing his job in the place literally stopped making someone else's order to take mine. After taking my order, he went in back and told the hoard to be quiet and asked for help. When he came back, he started up on the other customer's order. No one came out to help this guy so I waited. When someone did come out my order was made fast and was correct. The other customer was still without her food as I left. The second time I went, there was no one behind the counter to take my order. I waited for 4-5 minutes when the phone rang. Someone came out to get the phone...not to serve me, she went in the back again to yak it up with her bffs. Another wait. Once I paid, someone came out from the back and made my order as did a couple of other people as there was a line. I need to mention the dirty tables that were unusable here. Rather than hang out in the back, go pick up the garbage for Christ sake. Clearly ownership has hired the wrong management staff or trained people improperly. If I owned a place like this and saw people I am paying money to hanging out in the back socializing I would shoot on sight. In regards to the food, yes it is moderately healthy and moderately fresh. I debate the freshness of some of the ingredients as clearly some were once frozen. The rice they serve is way over cooked. Be aware also that the toppings they put on your burrito or rice bowl are 9 times out of 10 going to be cold. This makes the whole thing cold long before you are finished eating it. Forget take out, my mistake the first time I ate here. Ice cold by the time I got home. I'm happy they are here in St John's because we need more variety within the food scene, but they need to step their game up big time. I have only been to this establishment once and usually I would give it a second chance before writing a review but this was just to important not to post. Me and two of my friends decided to take a trip down as we wanted to have a healthy dinner. We all ordered some of the most simplest dishes on the menu as we wanted to not get something complicated. It was about 20$ each and for a restaurant that is categorized as "fast food" we noticed it was a little pricey but we pushed it aside and waited for our food. We waited 20-30mins for our food before it was ready and the result was not pleasing. The juice (5.99$) was disgusting. They do not give you the juice at the counter, so you are left to take a guess at which is which in the fridge (keep in mind they don't have labels on them). I grabbed the green one as it looked closest to the description (green energy juice). The first sip was not horrible but the after taste made me gag and every sip from then on made me want to throw up. For the actual meal I had the zen salad and it was horrible as well. Bland taste, the spinach & greens were soaked in sauce, the mangos were mush and the overall salad was disgusting. I was absolutely disappointed as I had just spent 20$ on a meal and ate about 3 bites of it. I and my two friends (who had also only ate a few bites) quickly got up and left, throwing the juice and meal in the garbage. After coming home after this meal I feel disgusting and wish I had not wasted my time or money on this place. I recommend not eating here, there are plenty of amazing restaurants in the St.Johns/ Mount Pearl area that have brilliant customer service and food. The hype for freshii being new and knowing others will waste their time/money there saddens me. I hope you choose to eat at a different establishment the next time you go out to eat. read more
