These sort of quick service healthy food spots are starting to pop up and it is always good to have…read morea rather healthy option among all the others. There are a lot of options here, including a BYO bowl option, which seemed intimidating so my dining partner and I opted for a predetermined menu item. You can choose from salads, rice bowls, broth bowls and plates. I went with the Tuna Poke Fire Warm Rice Bowl (say that 5 times fast) - it had a scoop of rice, sprouts, pickled jalapenos, cabbage and a very small scoop of tuna, It was then given a small squirt of miso dressing. Now looking at the menu again, I realize they did not put the fire sauce on, dang. I also got a small cup of coconut curry chicken soup and a fountain drink, since they have a lot of different options of teas and lemonades, I wanted to try a couple. My total was $18 and I just found that pricey for the size and portion of protein given. I had the soup first and I found it to be a small serving, thin and kinda bland, it also had no sustenance to it, it was mostly just a broth. You could skip this. I thought my bowl was pretty good, but I was wishing for more kick and more tuna. I wouldn't get the poke here again, I'll save that for a local Poke bar! The drink options were pretty great but I think they are just drink mixes. Don't miss the cayenne berry lemonade and the fig and vanilla tea. My friend wasn't thrilled about her salad, she had the Sriracha Ginger Tofu salad. She found it too spicy for her tastes (but she doesn't like much heat) and it just didn't have enough *stuff* in it. It was really just like, kale and tofu. I definitely preferred this spot to another one that is supposed to 'be good'. The options are pretty endless, the flavors are decent and you can get a really healthy meal option, just expect to pay for it and don't come too hungry.

Our experience last night was much better service. We had Vicky as our server and she was a delight. So hardworking and caring. You can tell she pours her heart into her job. My major rave about BJ's this trip is the happy hour deals and deals of the week. We were thinking we were going to use a good sit down dinner and we ended up diving into "snacks". We just made it before the end of Happy Hour and we got some spinach artichoke dip and we both ordered personal pizzas. We also took advantage of the $5 wing specials on Wednesday. The spin dip was great but seemed to be missing something. Maybe some spice. The personal pizzas were a bit smaller than we were expecting, but for a $7 special you couldn't go wrong. I had the BJ's classic combo minus olives. It was delicious. The freshest toppings. The wings were a bit disappointing. Maybe because we're from Buffalo... but the dill pickle boneless really didn't have much flavor. The hot honey buffalo didn't seem to show any of those flavors. I almost wonder if they were the wrong flavor. But anyways, cheap deals, great waitress! I'll be back next time I'm passing through. We also loved that even though the place was packed, it wasn't loud! They have designed it well.

We were in town here grabbing some dinner with my nephew who is a student at RPI. It's been forever…read moresince I've been at a mall, but there was plenty of parking despite the rainy weather, and we got into here quickly for a table for dinner. Their dessert case right in front of the entrance was taunting me.... We were seated and greeted by Sang Jun, who was fantastic. It turns out that we are all Korean, we figured that out at the end of the meal but he was amazing as a server. Never needed to ask for anything, made several recommendations, and we had a really great meal and evening. The menu is giant! Come hungry for sure! I started out with a margarita flight, which was not only beautiful, but delicious. We started out with the ahi tuna nachos, which was delicious and beautiful. Scallions, tuna, fried wonton skins as chips, jalapeños and sauce that made it all worth every calorie. I ignored the jalapeños, but still inhaled the tuna and everything else. Crowd pleaser for sure. My nephew got the salmon special, served with sweet potatoes. I ordered the bang bang shrimp and chicken that came with lo mein. The sauce was a Thai curry base and has veggies and was literally inhale-able. I ate the proteins (cooked perfectly) and some of the noodles, then ended up eating the leftover noodles the next morning. Still just as good cold out of the fridge! My brother got the ramen. They were out of the pork (or it was off the menu) so he went with the beef. That looked so good, bowl was filled to brim with noodles, garnishes, and beef. It was perfect since he wasn't feeling well. My nephew decided halfway thru his salmon dish he wanted a side Caesar salad and Sang Jun brought one tha looked like it was made for the Internet. Well plated and giant portion. We were absolutely stuffed so we had no room for desserts, even though they looked so good in the cooler walking in. We had a nice discussion with SJ about our family trip to Korea last summer, telling him about some of the most embarrassing moments and getting a good laugh. I guess this is a chain, but I hope that I see one again. I'll be ready to have the same exact thing, or try something new- I'm sure it will be amazing. Thanks to the team and Sang Jun for a memorable meal here in Albany!
