I'm always looking for a good smoothie bowl place in Albany and Bare was really good. I love all the options they have and the ability to customize it. Their fall menu looked fun as well. My friend really enjoyed their Caesar wrap and strawberry matcha too. Overall it's a bit pricey for a smoothie bowl place but it was yummy and they do have quality ingredients. So, their smoothies are still great but I was completely taken aback by the terrible behavior of one of their employees today 5/10/25. I ordered my smoothie and was waiting for it to take it to go. There was a family who appeared to be waiting for smoothies and a few single folks waiting. Since there was no line when I ordered, I thought things would move quickly. No, I was waiting for about 10 minutes. There was a female employee diligently making smoothies but seemed to have quite a backlog of orders. A young male employee, however, was apparently not working but squirting a friend with a water gun from behind the counter then engaging in a long conversation with two friends. He slowly made his way back to help the female employee making the smoothies. Was he supposed to be working? Was that why there was such a backlog? I complained that my order was taking a long time and the diligent female employee expedited my order. If anyone in management is reading this review, this young male employee working today around 5pm needs some serious schooling in appropriate behavior in the workplace. I was aghast that he was playing with a water gun like a five year old instead of helping the other employee move orders along. SMH. read more

Food very good, service good, Ambiance very good. We've tried Bare Blends before orginally at their previous location in the back of Stuyvesant Plaza, the location in Glenmont several times, the Troy location, and at numerous events around the Capitol region including vegan and food festivals. This was my first visit to the updated Stuyvesant Plaza location across the parking lot from Starbucks and the former TGI Friday's. The staff seemed a bit stressed, possibly because they were in the middle of a rush or didn't have enough people. I am typically greeted by very friendly young professionals at the various locations but today they seemed rushed. Several customers were waiting as the items rolled out from the kitchen. I entered and with no line immediately ordered around 1250. Sometime after 1:15pm someone called me up to the counter but not for my order. It was to tell me they were out of cauliflower and couldn't make the smoothie I ordered with the ingredients it was supposed to have. They offered banana instead and suggested it would taste just as good. My ordered arrived at 1:31pm 41 minutes after I ordered. While I waited a cashier told some customers it would be about 20 minutes and two people got out of line and left the store. I assumed they had a limited time on a lunch break and couldn't wait that long for an order to be ready. They might have suggested an item from the prepared salads juices in the grab and go case but retaining the customers didn't seem to be that important at the time. The food looked amazing and the Pina Colada bowl was excellent. The mocha smoothie was very banana forward and between the chocolate and banana it really overpowered any coffee flavor that should have come through. So the beverage was alright but not my favorite. The bowl, like I said, was really fresh and delicious. I'd like to go back and try a new breakfast sandwich soon. I think they were just having a bad day maybe? read more

Not a good experience today. There was a large plant located on top of the mini fridge where you have to get smoothies ordered from the app. When I opened it, the artificial plant fell and hit my head and then smashed on the floor. It was painful and when I alerted an employee who was very helpful, I heard the manager say to her "She must have slammed it." This was very rude and unprofessional and also not true. The employee was trying to help, but management was snide and unprofessional. In actuality, the plant was likely close to the edge, and, funny enough, I didn't think to check the fridge for plants at risk of falling. It should not have been placed above an appliance opened and closed all day! I have been a customer of BARE for years and was very disappointed by this episode. I went to bare today and I ordered a smoothie bowl to go. When I opened it because it decided to stay there to eat it, the presentation was horrible. I had more chocolate and chia seeds and the smoothie part didn't have any taste to it. Also, I ordered avocado toast and it wasn't toasted and was soggy. Im regular customer and I don't mind paying but when it looks like it rushed through it makes me upset because I spent 32 dollars and didn't even finish it. hopefully this doesn't happen again read more

Hands down, the best smoothie bowls around. The ingredients are so fresh and delicious. I had the chunky monkey bowl - can't go wrong here with peanut butter, banana, chocolate etc. the consistency of the base is so incredibly smooth! The store is clean and welcoming. They have a special board to the right and only look if you're prepared to change your mind because the pictures alone look phenomenal, and then you read the description and want them all! Brownie Batter? Yes please! I couldn't leave without the cookie dough balls that are at the counter. They are healthy but don't taste healthy at all! read more

It was the most expensive place I've tried. The bowl was great but Be prepared to have a purple tongue all day haha. Here it goes Pros: fresh fresh fresh!! The staff makes the base to order which is def a great touch and the presentation is great. The location is perfect! The venue is cute and is perfect for this type of crowd. Cons: price is the most expensive out of all the places I've been. The menu is very hard to read and they don't have print outs to look it over so you have to have your phone to look it up. Super excited to see an açaí spot while visiting Albany. I was between a few items but ultimately went with the coffee cake bowl. The base was banana, coffee, protein and cinnamon oats. The consistency that this base produced was very strange, almost like a paste. I think there needed to be an almond milk to offset it. One of the toppings was almond butter which there was a ton of - which typically I'm all about. But with the combo of the nut butter and the paste like base, it was tough to break down the consistency in my mouth... thus, instead of a cold base that's smooth it was thick and tougher to get down. BARE is more of a on-the-go kind of snack. Tequila-less Sunrise Smoothie- The papaya is the predominant flavor, which surprised me. The papaya was the main source of sweetness. I would have liked more of an orange flavor and sweetness instead. The beet juice on top of the smoothie was pretty to look at but didn't add much flavor. Overall, it's a very dense and healthy smoothie with fresh fruit ingredients Keto Lovers Smoothie- Very dense and minimal sweetness. It's also a very fresh and nutritious smoothie. However, I was surprised that one of the ingredients is coconut oil, which is consistent with a ketogenic diet but not very healthy in terms of cardiac health. Overall, BARE provides fresh ingredients in their smoothies and bowls that use natural sweetness for its major flavors. It's a bit pricey but it satisfies any fresh fruit craving. read more

Great bowls- this was our go-to place before we moved to Florida. Not many other spots in the area that serves up a good Açaí or Pataya bowl. The only reason why I couldn't give them a 5 star, was inconsistency. They have a varsity squad and a freshman squad working here. Some days the bowls are incredible and another, it could be decent but more liquid-based. I wish I knew some of the staffs names because a few should be recognized for making awesome bowls (the guy behind the counter)! Sooooooooo delicious! So far I've been to BARE 3 times and it's my favorite smoothie/bowl place I've been to! My fav is the Harry's Pb & J Smoothie w/ added Vanilla protein. I get nervous with smoothies because I drink them so quickly. BUT not this time! The smoothie is DELICIOUS and thick! Afterwards I was satisfied and was able to go on a 3 mile hike feeling full and energized. I also got the Harry's Pb & J smoothie as a bowl. Which isn't listed on the menu as a bowl but they had no problem doing it. It was just as good and honestly more filling. I love that afterwards I felt refreshed and not like full crappy like if I was to eat something else. This is an awesome lunch and I am craving it just writing this. I had heard about this little gem. I wish I would have gone sooner. It was a Saturday and the place was poppin' and yet still managed to feel very upbeat. Maybe it's because every single person working behind the bar was smiling and friendly, maybe it was because the general crowd BARE attracts unanimously seemed polite despite all the bodies in line and chatter around, maybe it was because my smoothie was DELICIOUS and surprisingly filling. The space was clean and had an airy touch with the decor, nothing too busy or overwhelming to the space. The staff was moving fast, clearly a well oiled machine. Even though 5 people were in line before me I got my smoothie rather promptly. Kudos! I also appreciated BARE's commitment to eco products and whole ingredients. NO ADDED SUGAR. GLUTEN-FREE?! NO DAIRY! VEGAN. All though I am not vegan and don't have any dietary restrictions I felt like the menu was full of things I wanted to try and didn't really feel like I was ordering grass with fruit. There was some real flavor and fun mixes on the menu. With all the dietary considerations people in general have, it's nice to know that I can meet any friend I have for a smoothie or bowl and not even have to worry about what they can and can't have. Many acai bowl bases are often mixed with banana but it didn't seem like this one was. I liked that the bowls were made to order. I got mine topped with almond butter, blueberries, coconut flakes, and a few other ingredients. I wish they allowed up to add more toppings. They have pre-made bowls as well. This place is located at the backside of a plaza. It's attached to a yoga studio. The blenders they use are super loud so the space isn't very tranquil. They played cool 2000s R and B music. This wasn't the best acai bowl place I've been to but it's the only one I know exists in Albany. The space is set up a little awkwardly. There's a space left of the door for seating and then a separate space toward the right where the register is. They had many unconventional acai bowl flavors like pumpkin spice, peanut butter and jelly, cookie, coffee cake, apple cider donut bowl and more. I'd be interested in trying one of those non-fruit themed bowls. read more
