I work pretty close to Fresh Kitchen, so I've been here a number of times and it was one of my favorite lunch spots. Their sweet potato noodles are amazing. I actually don't like sweet potatoes at all, but these I could eat all day long! All the food that I've had here has been fantastic. Love the concept of this place! Healthy fast food! There is no drive thru which Would make it truly fast food. It's set up "Subway" style with a class walk way you can look at the food choices and choose what you want to go in your bowl. They let you sample which is a plus in my book especially since they offer different options than most restaurants like "sweet potato noodles" which are the best thing ever! Get them! I used to frequent this place when it first opened. Less now due to location convenience. Venture there today. Food is good, and also healthy; however, service was horrible! As they serve you, there are 4 different people that provide service as they pass your bowl down the line. The first 2 were flat out "service rude" (not personal, just horrible service skills). Looked at you (I observed the same demeanor with others) as if you're wasting their time. When asking a question about the menu, you're treated as if you're bothering them or you should have known. None of the four smiled, none acted as if you were a customer with a choice of where to eat. The cashier acted bothered when I asked for a top to cover the sauce. I'd love for this to be my favorite healthy lunch spot, but sadly it often leaves me disappointed. The problem is inconsistency with the food quality and (especially) the portion size. For example, today the citrus chicken serving was approximately 8 small chunks of meat and a portion of it was significantly charred. The person behind me ordered the baked chicken and received 3 nice sized chicken tenders - at least 3x the amount of my serving. If I pay almost $9 for lunch (for a 4 bowl), I don't feel like I should still be hungry when I'm finished. On a positive note, the food is usually quiet tasty. It's just a little too expensive for the inconsistent portion sizes. read more

Kept driving by this place & finally stopped in. We ordered a 4 bowl & 6 bowl. The 4 bowl was the perfect amount. The tofu was the perfect amount & tasted great. Loved the broccoli, tofu, & creamy ginger sauce! I would have ordered extra sauce just for the taste but it's really not necessary. Super happy I did add the avocado though! My boyfriend couldn't finish the 6 bowl & needed to bring some home. He said the chicken was good & liked the roasted sweet potatoes. With many food allergies this is just about the only place I can eat out at these days and there is No complaint from me! It is AMAZING! My husband and I go almost daily and always get the baked chicken! I LOVE the green beans, sweet potatoes all of the rices- you just can't go wrong! Holy Kale is the the most fantastic sauce ever! Literally one of the only healthy options in the whole entire county that's delicious and fast moving and isn't a sit down restaurant with a waiter. I get the bowl with 1 base 1 veggie and 1 protein and it fills me up. I don't feel like crap after eating here like I would at most places. The dressings are amazing too. Ginger one and balsamic one are my favorites. My only complaint is that they don't put one of these restaurants further south in Port Charlotte or North Port or Punta Gorda where I live. This store is right next door to my last project. I have eaten here quite a few times just for that fact. Being on a real time crunch sometimes you just have to. This place really gets swamped for lunch for some reason. It really tries to work the fresh and heathy movement going on right now. To me they really miss the mark. The food is very bland not even salt n pepper which is a staple of cooking in my eyes. You start with a choice of bowls sizes. Then you move on to the bases which are go from rice to lettuce or even a cauliflower n potato mash. Then you move to veggies with under cooked veg. Maybe that's why they are on warming plates in hope that they will finish cooking. I always went for mushrooms (it's my go to) but as normal they were under cooked and under seasoned as well as maybe luke warm. Then you move down the line to your proteins which again are way under seasoned. I normally go for the steak cause I'm a meat kind of guy. Ok course it is an up charge of 1.50. Now you have to wait for them to cook it. Thank god something is hot but this takes about 10-12 minutes. I build restaurants I time ticket times. So after all is done I'm out the door with a 12-15 bill and I go and choke it down and get back to work. All I can say is I'm glad I'm back in Jax. read more

Well, July 3rd at 7:30m we decided to walk in and check this out. With so so many good restaurants in this area such as Lee Roy Selmon's, we were sure this would be good. We walked in with no one in line and walked up to the food counter to see the food. We had to ask how you order, one thing it's too confusing. 2nd of all with people now behind us we were rushed listening to the server explain the ordering guide. Really? Menu says steak, no steak. They said kale and I knew this is not the place for me. Everything was okay but the carbs killed me because the dishes all included rice. Rice is well over 30 grams of carbs in one cup, you get two choices and this now means 60 grams of carbs. BS, really ticked me off. I should've just ate an entire pizza. Hated this place. All kinds of weird drinks and weird sodas and weird people eating inside. Oh well, tried it and hated it. Walked next door to Eats something and again, weird food diner stuff.
