My company catered food from here earlier this week. First off, the food here is actually pretty good. The mushrooms, green beans, carrots, and brown rice were all really great, and would recommend these items in your meal. As for the meat, (I'm a vegetarian) the tofu has a good taste to it, but they don't cook it. The tofu had that gross super soft texture like it came out of the packaging. If you like that kind of tofu, you will enjoy there tofu, but I don't care for it. Overall, a good place to eat. The food is here tasty, but I prefer my tofu fried, and not soft. read more

The "six" bowl to go. I chose steak & tuna poke (both an extra $1.50) parmesan broccoli, quinoa, kale slaw, roasted mushrooms and a side of herb vinaigrette so good! The steak was cooked perfectly, tender as well as flavorful! They offer you a sauce, which was delicious, but this bowl doesn't even "need" it! Each of my components were well seasoned and tasted great on their own. Combined the way I wanted, was a dream! Along the assembly of the bowl there were four smiling faces (and opinions) I gathered as to what would go best. My only note would be that they don't seem to have a lot of veggie options that go with the tuna poke, next time I'll just be getting a smaller bowl, but next time will be soon! read more

This is one of my main "go-to" places for healthy food. The concept is based around bowls, where you pick your base (noodles, rice, quinoa), then your vegetables (broccoli, mushrooms, green breads etc.) and then your proteins (range of chickens, tuna...). Everything on the menu is gluten free, and freshly sourced and everything is cooked on premises. At peak times there is a line but service tends to be fast. You can get a big bowl for around $10. They also have a range of smoothies and juices too. The only downside is that portions can vary from server to server, so sometimes it's more filling than others, but I've always enjoyed the food here. They also have a parking lot with lots of parking spaces and it's very close to a range of shops and other other eateries. read more

I like Fresh Kitchen, I don't love it. For me the 4 bowl is fine. I like the kale salad, brown or coconut rice, Almond chicken is really the best and the basil mushrooms. It's right in my neighborhood and I do go every few weeks. Sometimes walking in it smells funky. I do not like when restaurants don't smell like good food. I have also seen the staff add fresh food to food that was sitting in the bowls way too long and stir it up. This was a turn off. They have a very young staff who are friendly, but I don't know how "clean" they are. read more

I worked with a collegiate rowing team. We traveled 35 people to the Sarasota area in late May for the NCAA championships. I ordered a team meal from Fresh Kitchen with about a weeks notice and the team loved it. All the food was hot and ready to go as we ordered when I arrived for pick up but bowls were not labeled. Other than that the team loved it! I highly suggest Fresh Kitchen for a quick meal when passing through or visiting. If you care about real food, eating clean, healthy, and doing it all while tasting good then you need to stop going to Chipotle and start going to Fresh Kitchen (if you have the option). Currently this is only an option for residents of the Greater St. Pete/Tampa area but hopefully this will continue to grow beyond this region because I would go here all the time if I had this in Charlotte. I went and had the steak bowl with almond chicken and quinoa and it was magnificent! Not to mention the fact that for under $13 I was able to get fresh cooked steak, chicken and sweet potatoes all in the same meal served in less than 5 minutes. They also have some very creative items like sweet potato noodles and a vast array of tasty dressings to which you can flavor your bowl with. I usually love fresh kitchen but today I went to the one in Sarasota. I was very disappointed in the food. Blackened Chicken was dry and the food was tasteless. Fresh kitchen used to provide great food and a good amount of it. For the last several months the quantity of food keeps shrinking. Small dishes, small sauce containers, smaller Togo containers. Now you can't get a protein without an up charge.. BBQ chicken or +2 for steak and salmon. The selection of protein and veggies is limited to 3 options even when their board reads that they have 6. Pretty disappointed. I didn't realize that everything was going to be a one flavor note. The Sweet potato noodles that look like rice noodles, were saturated in a smoky, sesame oil flavor. The mushrooms had a teriyaki flavor to it and the green beans had sesame seed and teriyaki. Since I am vegan I couldn't eat the broccoli because they put Parmesan cheese on it. Almost all the sauces were of Asian flavor. My mistake was having the coconut and ginger rice before I realized how the veggies were prepared. The kale slaw was ehhh because it was the last scoop. Didn't take cauliflower potato mash because it was nasty looking last scoop. Husband waited for fresh which was good but the rest of the meal was cold. Waited almost 8 minutes for them. The sweet potato slices were pretty dried out. By reading the reviews, I was really looking forward to seeing Fresh and tasting fresh. It was not. The chicken was very burnt I ate half of it it was crispy and dry and something was off. About ten minutes after eating my stomach instantly bloated and was painful. I was sick all night. That was my last meal FROM FRESH KITCHEN. I reported it to poison control. Please review the several food poisoning reports already and food violations of undercooked meat. In this case I don't know what was wrong with the food other then it made me violently ill. read more

Overall a good place if you want to keep things light and healthy. Just keep in mind the calories are still high on their foods considering the amount of sauce they use on the proteins. Cant blame them because it makes the food taste better for the majority. I recommend this place if you want "healthy". Fresh Kitchen is definitely a great option for fast, healthy food, especially in comparison to other nearby options. However, as a vegan, I find it odd that their romaine and kale salads aren't vegan. They add honey to it, which ethical reasons aside, I don't like because I don't want unnecessary sugar with my greens. It wasn't the tastiest food I've had, but it was quick, healthy, and fairly well seasoned. Just not the best seasoning I've had. This place has huge potential. The flavors are excellent and it's a good menu. However, everything is ruined because its burnt. Not just a little charred on spots, but big pieces of burnt charcoal food that dominates the flavor of everything. Too bad, because on the nonburnt pieces the flavor was really good. And, I'm not sure what the thinking is here, but the salad greens are put on the bottom of the bowl beneath the hot food, which makes it a wilted mess. Not sure what to do with the salad dressing because the greens are inaccessible. MILLENNIAL ALERT: Good luck explaining the problem with the food to staff or to get the greens out from under all the hot food. They're millennials and unable to comprehend anything but their process. They tried to say it's a flavor preference but it isn't. I had fruitless conversation reminiscent of the conversations Luke Wilson had with people in the movie Idiocracy about how to hydrate crops. Recommend you look at the food before you commit. Our first time here. The staff was helpful in explaining the options. 2,4,6. Basically kid size, two bases, a protein and a veg or two bases, two proteins and two veg. We got the four but really wanted two vegetables instead of one so that was wasn't great. Food Bowl one-sweet potato noodles, rice, string beans, bbq chicken Bowl two- quinoa, kale slaw, string beans, almond crusted chicken Both proteins were very good. Chicken wasn't dry. All the bases were good too. The string beans were surprisingly a little spicy. If you don't like raw-ish crunchy string beans, these are not for you. Also portions are small so consider the 6 unless you're not very hungry. Drinks- I accidentally got a black cherry sparking water which was bad and wished I'd seen they had a variety of fountain drinks. Space-The seating wasn't very comfortable, and the rose and grass print tables didn't really seem to work. read more
