We came here for my wife's birthday as a family. The staff were helpful, we needed help since there were some dishes with which we were unfamiliar. It is fast casual in style, like a Subway or Chipotle. I got some cauliflower mash potatoes, sweet potato noodles, chicken a couple ways, and a sauce that brought it together well. Perfect spot if you're looking for a super healthy meal that's definitely fresh as the name implies. Another cool place I found like Chipotle walk through cafeteria style serving. You pick your 1)base, then your 2) veggies then the 3) protein and finally a 4) sauce. They've got everything; brussel sprouts, beans, mushrooms, parmesan broccoli, quinoa, brown rice, chicken, steak, tofu, etc. I unexpectedly enjoyed the sesame green beans but I felt like their proteins were kind of bland- not enough seasoning or sauce for my taste. Their sriracha coconut sauce is the best one and their "holy kale" one was interesting...but not a fan. This might be a good thing for some but for me, its a bit too healthy...I feel like no matter how big the meal (and I always get plenty of protein in my bowls), I always get hungry again quickly after. My husband and I visited here several times during our vacation last Spring and we were so pleased with our experience, the restaurant is nice and clean, the staff was super friendly and the food was freshly prepared, healthy, and very flavorful! The four-bowl with the steak is what I would normally order, with a side of GF chocolate zucchini muffins. Those muffins were terrific! Moist, tender and full of flavor, you couldn't tell that they were gluten-free! In fact, the entire restaurant is GF! If you have preference for vegetarian selections, there's a wide variety to chose from. The hubby and I were SO BUMMED to return to California. Please open Fresh Kitchen stores out here! This is my new obsession! I've yet to be disappointed. The six bowl is the perfect size for dinner. My favorite bases are the sweet potato noodles and coconut rice. They are always fresh and they sometimes run out of the sweet potato noodles. For my protein I always get the Tuna Poke with either Pesto Chicken or Grilled Steak. They have so many sauces to try too. I've had FK catered twice and I find that they don't give you that much food. It's a better deal to just order a bowl. read more

Reason #1 for why I love Yelp! Never would have known this place existed, never would have found this place, and certainly never would have been so satisfied after a long day of travel. Healthy food...check! Fresh pressed juices...check! Regular sized portions...check! Decently priced menu...check! You start with picking your bases (rice, quinoa, sweet potato noodles, etc) followed by adding your veggies (Brussels sprouts, broccoli, mushrooms, etc) then your meat (my favorite is the tuna) and finally a sauce (couldn't stop selecting the cucumber jalapeño). Delicious. Don't forget one of their fresh cold pressed juices. Really fortunate and appreciative that I found a reasonable option for eating out while traveling in the area. Okay, so I love Fresh Kitchen in Tampa and the food here was good with the exception of my sweet potatoes which were raw and crunchy. I also didn't like that I wanted to order the steak for my kids but they ONLY offer "MEDIUM RARE" which is "to keep consistency"... WHAAAAT?!?! Medium rare is unsafe for kids. I wasn't happy at all. How hard is it to cook something medium well for kids. This made me think this location is not family friendly which is a bummer because kids need to eat healthy Update: Crappy food. Walking in, patrons are greeted with vivid colors, and green everywhere- bright green booths, tables patterned with freshly mowed grass prints, and even artificial grass lining the queue! Entering the line, about midway through, you'll notice a promise from Fresh Kitchen adorning the wall: "If you're standing here, you'll be eating your food in less than 8 minutes". I love this, as the sign gives us hungry folks some anticipation, and an idea of when exactly we're going to eat! As for the food options, you can customize your selection for number of proteins and veggies, as well as the base. I usually spring for the bowl of two each, and pick the Mashed tater/cauliflower blend, and the spiced brown rice for my bases. As for veggies, I play it by ear, but most recently opted for the Brussels sprouts (crunchy, savory, and satisfying) and the sweet potatoes (sweet, skins on, and a nice texture to complement the Brussels sprouts). Regarding the meats, we have a few more selections, so I'll mix and match with the chicken, choosing something like the teriyaki and the bbq, and then top at all off with their awesome creamy white ginger sauce! The sauce is exactly what it sounds like, and introduces a wonderful tangy element to the bowl. All in all, I am left very satisfied, with the sole qualm being that the portions are a bit small for the price. Food bowl is what I got and I was blatantly a first timer. Everyone was so so extremely helpful and nice! A great atmosphere. WoW!! This place is so fast even when they have a long line and are busy, the line moves so quick. The food is incredible and healthy. This is the best choice of a quick meal or take out. I highly recommend the sweet potato noodles, chickpeas and the steak (which is almost always cooked fresh to order). I am also obsessed with the drink stand with fresh teas and frescas. i love fresh kitchen and come here often. the only protein i will eat is the steak so i am always okay with paying the up charge, there was a wait for steak today because it is a very popular choice and with my very small wait of only about 3-5 minutes for the steak to finish cooking the manager came over and was very apologetic of the time i had to wait for the steak and offered me a drink on him. i absolutely loved the hospitality of this manager and was very pleased with how attentive he was. it didn't go unnoticed and it was very appreciated. i turned down his generous offer because i thought it was wrong of me to turn down a drink at the register and then turn around and get one for free but managers like him are what keep customers and employees happy. thank you so much! read more

This place reminds me so much of Hawaii with the plate lunch style selections. It was exciting to walk in here and see the rice, meat, veggie style plate lunches. The one big reason my wife and I decided to try this place out was simply because when you type in poke' on Yelp, this is really the only place that has it. She's a HUGE fan of it. You can't really expect Hawaii quality poke' in Florida, that's just not fair, but you know what? It was pretty darn good. We both ordered the five bowl. You essentially get a choice of one side, two veggies, and two proteins, along with a choice of sauce. I got the spicy rice (not spicy though), parmesan broccoli, green beans, almond chicken, and citrus chicken. Everything was absolutely delicious! The almond chicken was my favorite. They are basically chicken tenders, but with a fantastic almond crunch batter. The citrus chicken was exactly what you'd expect. Citrus. Chicken. The veggies were cooked very well, and the broccoli is a must try! The sauces were just okay. They weren't anything that blew me away, and there are a total of five to choose from. We tried two of them, and neither were very complimenting to the food we had. The drink options are severely limited to only three. They were...different. Not bad, but not anything that I would order again. I'd love to come back and try more of their protein options in the future. It's a unique take for a restaurant here in Florida, but it's a nice slice of Hawaii-like plate lunches. One quick note: How to pronounce Poke' (read po-kay). We couldn't help but giggle when the employees kept saying pokey. read more
