It's been awhile since we last ate here but so happy to be back. The new location was not on the main road and a little tougher for parking. All the poke that day were mostly variations of ahi, some salmon or tako. The poke was sold by weight and when we got the poke bowl each scoop of rice was $1.75. Sides like seaweed also charged by weight. Photos of all the cooked entrees were posted above the counter along with pricing. Staff were very friendly and gave out poke samples, described the poke and always checked with us if we wanted more than what they scooped. The orders for the furikake salmon and teri salmon belly were ready within a short period of time. I wished they still had indoor seating like the previous location so we could eat immediately as we were all hungry. Both pokes were very fresh and the sauce or combinations quite tasty. The furikake salmon and teriyaki salmon bellies were cooked perfectly, moist and flaky and well seasoned. We came back again the following week for more poke. Such good and fresh Poke!!! You have to go here if you are in the area. We went about 2 hours before closing on Sunday and had our order taken right away. It's a counter service type of place, casual grab and go. They let us taste the salmon poke as they were packaging it which was a nice treat. The fish quality at Fresh Catch is very good -- easily the one of the best we've had in Honolulu so far. However, I'm taking one star off for the limited selection of veggie sides. Our kids usually enjoy the "Chipotle-style" poke spots where they can mix and match toppings, but this place is more geared toward those who prioritize fresh fish over variety and customization. First of all this place is soo clean and the staff is friendly which I love! We ordered fish and chips and Pastele fries. Food was fresh and hot! Pastele fries had a lot of big pieces of meat and totally worth it. So much meat that I had to use some fries from the fish and chips. I would buy it again. Fish and chips was good too but the only things that I have any criticism about is the Mac salad had very little flavor but it was still edible. Chips are seasoned fries which I don't mind but just thought I would mention it. I really like this place and I highly recommend the salmon poke even though I didn't get that today. First time at this new location. I used to go to the old Kaimuki location(former Pizza Hut bldg) and the Pearl City Location (formerly KFC bldg). I got the Salmon poke and Spicy Ahi Shoyu. Being a picky poke person, I'd rate the Salmon poke very good. It was fresh, buttery, and flavorful with the sweet sauce. However, the Spicy Shoyu Poke was another story. It was so spicy that I couldn't finish it and had to discard it. I've ate a lot of spicy shoyu ahi at other places before but this one was near the top of the spiciness scale. I could only taste heat not poke. Maybe this batch was a fluke? Maybe I'll ask if they let you try a sample next time. I also ordered a couple scoops of rice which was on the dry side. They have fountain drinks and a refrigerator with bottled drinks. They also sell Red Velvet Cupcakes, FC Sauces and FC T-Shirts. The walls have photos of assorted fish catches and photos of them featured on the Diners, Drive Inns & Dives show (Food Network) with Guy Fieri. The service was excellent. The 2 ladies working were very friendly and helpful. The place looks new and clean. However, there's no tables & no chairs but there's a short standup counter so it's basically a takeout place. There's a total of 8 parking stalls (including a handicap parking and couple that are on the far right side). Access is tricky since you have to enter the parking lot only from Harding Ave so I had to take a spin around the block because it's one way. Overall, pretty good minus the too Spicy Shoyu Poke and dry rice. I would go back just for the Salmon Poke. read more

My daughter suggested this place. We decided to try it out. Not to much parking spaces in front of the store. We were lucky to get a spot. Once inside, there's no place to sit while you wait for your order. Some interesting things to look at inside the shop while you wait for your food. For a while I didn't think poke on Oahu was anything special compared to the other islands (to be fair I only ever tried Ala Moana foodland poke in Oahu). It wasn't until I tried the poke here was when I was mind blown and sold that Oahu has some of the best poke in Hawaii and it's here. There are so many places I wanted to try in Oahu that I'm sure are just as good if not better but having to only have tried this place, this wins. The fish was so fresh and they sell out often during the day and end up having to make more during the day so it's def fresh. I'd say they breaded it a little too heavily, the breading was really thick and kind of pasty in the parts which did not contact the oil. Decent: Shoyu poke - not bad. Located on Kapahulu and accessible only through a one-way. There is a parking lot, but it can be tricky to get in and out of. It's not impossible, but everyone should be ready for some tricky situations. They known for their fresh poke and plate lunches. I like the spicy Hawaiian, a spicy mayo base with limu. The shoyu salmon and Hawaiian blend ahi are also SOO good. If you're looking for something on the healthy side, the seared ahi salad is the way to go. The seasoning on the ahi is really good and comes with Chef Reno's creamy oriental dressing. Once you try that dressing paired with the seared ahi, you're gonna want to buy a bottle and put it on everything. I usually only come here for poke or the ahi salad, but they are popular for their non- fish plate lunches. From pastele and beef stew to fried garlic chicken- they have plenty of plate lunch options. For me personally as they do close early 6pm weekdays (excl Mon is closed) so even when I do make it there's basically nothing left though they do have other menu items it's all about the poke for me here. On this visit I did decide to give them a try since I was in the area and was lucky to have a few pieces of the spicy shoyu poke I mean just a few it was less than $5 worth lol! What I do love about it is not the usual sriracha mayo base sauce but shoyu and it was actually spicy, though it's just take out only here there was a counter where there was another couple who just stood and enjoy their order I decided to just to the same. Because I came here during covid times, I wasn't allowed to sample anything, so I picked out a quarter pound of ahi limu for the road. I am there at least once a week and would go more often if I could Regardless of the location you visit, pearl city, Kaneohe, or Honolulu (Kapahulu) you will get to try some of the best poke styles on the island. I say style because it really is the sauces/dressings that make this poke spot different from others. My favorite is the fireball which has habanero in it so be prepared for heat! I also prefer wasabi to the usual sriracha sauce spicy ahi, and if you're lucky, they might have a little creamy wasabi (as they often don't make it or don't make a lot of it!). Good spot for poke right with a decently-sized parking lot for the grab and go flow of ordering food. We missed the poke bowl time window so ordered poke by the pound with a side of 2 scoops of rice to make our own bowls to go. The shoyu poke was nicely marinated, and the ahi Hawaiian blend was lightly seasoned and allowed you to really taste the flavor of the tuna (recommend if you prefer a getting more of the taste of the fish). It was super busy at times but the workers are fast and efficient and they give out samples if you ask. Ordering was confusing at first but you can order by the scoop or pound if you know the specific amount you want. They charge market price for poke bowls so prices vary by item and portion; all my bowls cost ~$20 give or take a couple of dollars. The parking lot is very small and this place is take out only as they don't have any tables to sit inside. We visited this place as our first destination when we landed on the island. Parking is free, and only for 15 minutes, but you can only enter the small, private lot from Harding Avenue. GPS took me around the block (one way street on that part of the block) so I wouldn't cross the barriers (traffic islands). Inside, Fresh Catch is clean, bright, spacious, and air conditioned well! I liked the simple decor! When it was ordering time, I thought: wow... Furikake Salmon must be so good... That's my friend's favorite... Lemme try it! She also ordered sides of Garlic Ahi poke and spicy ahi poke. Service was kind and old school. "Aunty", the cashier, was careful and calm. Our order of poke was ready right away. We waited a little while in the car until the rest of our order arrived at the takeout window. We left and ate elsewhere. I thought the Furikake Salmon was really good. It was tasty and moist! The EXTRA (ask for it) Furikake (mayonnaise is used to help the Furikake stick to the surface of the salmon) on the brown rice and salmon was a nice touch! I would go back if I was in the area. However... I want to check out the new location of Fresh Catch in Kaneohe. I'm watching the new building emerge on Kamehameha Highway... This place was super amazing and was on the stop of our island poke pilgrimage. They have so many varieties and it's all made with fresh, not previously frozen fish. Best of all, they welcome you to sample them! The poke here is so delicious! It's on a sauce-y saltier side so definitely get some rice with it. We got it with salad to avoid filling up so soon in our poke journey. We got the Kitchen sink poke and Hawaiian blend poke after much deliberation. We brought our poke bowl outside to eat and they waved us back to give us samples of their salmon poke that they just mixed it. The salmon was so buttery and the sauce was like a sweet shoyu.
