Passion fruit mojito. So delicious gave me the chills
    Meagan E.

Dont sleep on cocktails here. The mojito knocked my socks off and I was sloshed by the time I finished the first one...definitely had another one too! The service was so freakin good. They were each and every one so nice and accommodating. We arrived before the switched over for dinner but they let us come in and hang out and drink in the mean time. They chatted with us for a while and promised to make our drinks extra special. They gave us some recommendations and it was time to order before we knew it. Food was great! The only thing that disappointed were the cheese filled pizza puff things because they got a little soggy. Would absolutely come again.

Food was fine, not exceptional. Returned the special ravioli which had good flavor but over cooked pasta. Carbonara pasta was much better. Bruschetta was very good!

I just remember everything we had here was amazing! Sooo good that I wanted to keep ordering!

    Tiramisu

I really enjoyed my meal at Frenzi. Outdoor dining was a beautiful view of the boats going through the canals. Staff was more attentive than other restaurants I've experienced in Amsterdam. My Parmigiana di Melanzane was great, and their Tiramisu was delicious! I would definitely recommend this place.

AMAZING food!!! Loved it!! We came here for dinner and loved it so much that we came back 2 days later! The first time our waiter recommended their daily special which was tapas tower (chef's choice) with a bottle of wine for 35 euros!! The tapas dishes that they picked for us were really tasty and so much of it too. See photos for all that was included. The staff was super nice and helpful as well. On the second night they didn't have the same special but they have tapas for 2 on the menu (not including wine) for 25 euros! This time I feel like there were more dishes included. Still tasty, still a great meal.

Dinner at Frenzi was ok, it was down the street from our reservation to Ice Bar and we wanted "Modern European" food. This place had great reviews so we decided to splurge a bit. We ordered the entree, starter, and dessert for 28.50 Euros. I ordered the halibut carpicacco and the spinach ravioli with pesto. My gf tried my ravioli and mentioned it tasted earthy - I would agree but I didn't think it was terrible. I DID not like the halibut - had a biter taste, in my opinion halibut should be left simple due to it's very minimum taste of fish. When overcomplicating it can turn into a slimy mess. Service was great though!

Sweet potato & bleu cheese gnocchi (close), "focaccia" (middle), sea bass (back)

Frenzi wasn't too busy when we arrived around 8:30p on a Monday, we were sat quickly and put in for drinks. It was a quaint place on a street corner across from the canal. My espresso martini was excellent and our focaccia arrived shortly after - though to call it focaccia would be a lie. It was a pizza dough with tomato paste and basil atop it. I found it tasty, though not what we were expecting. Our mains came out shortly after. My sweet potato gnocchi with bleu cheese cream sauce was DIVINE. It was also topped with fresh basil and the dish was creamy and full of flavor, the gnocchi cooked perfectly. My friend did not particularly enjoy his sea bass dish, though it looked appetizing enough to me. Unexpected with some twists and turns 3/5.

We were super hungry, and decided to stop here for brunch without checking any reviews, and I'm glad we were spontaneous! The food was actually really good despite the high prices (then I realize all of Amsterdam is also pricy). I ordered the Spicy Chick and felt that the composition was perfectly orchestrated. You have a heat kicking with every bite without being too spicy. You have tender chicken with every bite. Each bite was tasty without an ingredient overpowering one another. I also enjoyed the olive bread which really elevated the sandwich. I didn't get to try my party's food, but all of them said it was really good as well.

Nice causal small spot, varied menu, and didn't seem like it's difficult to get a table. This is a good spot to go with a varied tastes in a party, they have a few tapas plates and then pasta/meat dishes for dinner. The Bivette of beef was cooked perfectly and on top of a huge portion of sweet potatoes. The pumpkin gnocchi was also good, but the gnocchi were very large in size, so not all the way cooked, and a little heavy with the cheese on top. The best was the olive tapenade that came in the beginning. No free wifi.

I almost forgot this lovely canalside cafe (though with the number of canals in Amsterdam most of them happen to be next to a canal).

So next time I was in town, I was sure to make a reservation. They anticipated my arrival and sat me at the bar. They have WiFi that works! The pizza was really good and you could taste its freshness. I had a couple of cocktails but it was really tempting to get beer on tap. The interior is cozy which adds to La Perla's exclusivity and reservation-only culture because there is limited seating inside. My friend recommended La Perla to me. He goes every time he's in Amsterdam. I can see why. Service was also great and quite friendly.

When we arrived we were seated immediately, though service throughout seemed a little slow as they were quite busy and not many waiters/waitresses. We ended up ordering the proscuitto and margherita pizzas, both of which were great! The margherita was so fresh and flavorful - I loved the sauce so much and the thin crust. A great classic pizza. The proscuitto was a bit more elevated with parmesan and arugula, and was also delicious! It was almost a little too much though to the point where I preferred the margherita. Also be sure to try their chili oil - it's so good!

Another very nice Italian place in the little Italy street from Amsterdam…read more Don't expect pizza's here though this is a real kitchen! This very small Italian is always packed. In the open kitchen you can see (and hear!) the chef work his magic. The bread, the starters, the fresh home made pasta's and the secondi's are all amazing. They import a lot from Italy themselves, and you can even but a bottle of olive oil here. The place is full of ferrari signs, foto's of Sophia Loren, etc. It feels like a second home. Great for a nice romantich night out or a double date, maybe not so good if you go with more then 4 people, as the place is very small. Expect to spend about 115 euro for 2 persons incl a bottle of wine. Make sure you reserve a table!

On the outside it doesn't look all too fancy. Inside, the tables are closely arranged; making getting up from your table quite a challenge at times. However the waitress was friendly, and the atmosphere cosy. I had the truffle tagliatelle, which tasted excellent, but sadly wasn't cooked properly; it stuck together. Same goes for the pasta with sausage we had. Maybe the secondi taste better, but I'm not prone to go check them out after this experience. All in all, good service, but for the pricing they might pay a little more attention to the food.
