Le Jambon Fromage Sandwich Iced Oat Milk Latte

Cute little French cafe located right in the north end of carlsbad village, about a block from the beach. Nice Selection of sandwiches, coffee, crepes and pastries. Service is pretty average but overall a great spot to get your grub on.

We ate lunch at French Corner today and fell in love with this quaint little place that serves up delicious food with a lovely outdoor sitting area overlooking Carlsbad Boulevard. I had La Dinde savory crepe and it was delightful, while my husband thoroughly enjoyed a Jambon Beurre Baguette sandwich. The staff are friendly and did a great job with the food. They have a wide variety of pastries and desserts and various quiches that we will be back to sample, too. Thank you for a great midday meal. We are so happy to have found you!

Nice quaint place at a corner street. Very informal and you get to choose your seat. The way they do it is you go to the counter and choose your order placed on the board then they'll give you a number. Surprisingly I didn't have to wait for my order. It was quick. I got the eggs with veggie crepes. It was delightful and light. I will definitely come back and try other foods they have.

In honor of "International Women's Day", we feel it is important to support women owned businesses (not only this day, but also on a regular basis) and it is that desire that led us to the "French Corner." Everything about this place intentionally seeks to provide you with a little taste of Paris during your visit. You'll need to "parle a little francais" while ordering because the menu items have had French names bestowed upon them. You may also notice that all of the music playing in the background features exclusively French vocalists. After we enjoyed both the Breakfast Croissant and the Breakfast Crepe (which was particularly "tres bien") we found ourselves simultaneously wondering when we'll get our first opportunity to invite family and friends to enjoy this place with us. Their location is conveniently situated near the heart of the Carlsbad Village to provide you with the opportunity for a leisurely stroll before or after your meal. And that's...Henry's Take. #internationalwomensday #frenchcornercarlsbad

Clean and breezy. Items in the case looked very appealing. Person at the front counter was not the kindest. I would come back, just for the food.

Potato ham quiche

Exactly what you'd like for a French cafe. I had the quiche with potato's and ham it's really good but definitely put some hot sauce if you are looking for more flavor. It came with a miniature mixed green salad. The dressing that came with was perfection. Almost a mustardy/balsamic vibe. The outdoor seating is a great hangout and relaxing. The cashier helped me decide on more popular options. In n out within 15

There is some street parking out front, if you get lucky. Nice inside and some French style music playing, gave me an Emily in Paris vibe. The staff was nice and very quick to take and make the order. They have a large menu with plenty of options - everything from crepes, to coffee cake, eclairs, Mochas, etc. I will be stopping in again to try some of the crepes but today was just Mocha and coffee cake. I was disappointed with the coffee cake. It was flavorful but dry, I like it more moist. It looks great but I will try some other desserts next time.

The savory crepe with turkey and aged cheese was mouthwatering. The banana crepe was okay. Cute lil place. The service was great. Very expensive for what it is tho.

The cashier was very friendly and helpful, I wanted to make a chance to the drink I got because I didn't love everything listed and she was very patient with ensuring my order was how I wanted. The place itself is very clean and in a nice spot in town. You can sit indoor and out which is perfect for a nice beach day. The food was simple and isn't really anything special which is nice if you're just looking for a quick bite to eat like we were.

La Dinde Crepe

We had a great time here! The vibe is French and relaxed. Brunch here reminded me of the perfect Sunday morning :) The food was delicious. I ordered La Dinde Crepe which consisted of turkey, pesto, Gruyère and arugula. All crepes come with a side salad which is light and refreshing. The crepes are a large size which matches the approx. $15 price. The restaurant vibe was adorable. The decor matched a cute quaint French bistro. The staff was friendly and helpful. Our food despite the business came out fast. Around 12 pm the cafe started playing French music which was a lovely touch! If you still have room after your meal, there are some delicious desserts offered. We were too full to indulge, but next time we will be prepared!

To say that I have mixed feelings about this establishment is an understatement. It was a rainy day, and I was happy to get inside, but approaching the pastry case, we realize that the majority of the items appear to be more than a day old. The quiche had a very dry and cracked exterior, and the rest of the items did not look fresh. Because of this, we decided to place our orders directly off of the menu and were quite disturbed to see employees, using their bare hands to handle the food along with the young lady at the cash register wearing long, acrylic nails without gloves, which is well known as an OSHA violation. I had ordered the French toast, which ended up being quite bland and very large i. its portion. My daughter ordered a croissant and was very happy with it and my husband ordered a breakfast sandwich that was decent as well. My latte was absolutely fantastic, so I have no complaints there. Near the end of our visit, we noticed that they put out a fresh pumpkin pie so we did not hesitate to place our order as well as for the Millie feuille. Both of which were good, but the fresh pumpkin pie was by far superior with its exquisite cinnamon taste. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, but I don't think we'll be going back with so many options available be on this.

Rude employee and stale looking items in the glass counter. This is not an authentic French cafe. They cook potatoes on a crepe grill.

I ordered the Tombstone which is their Western cheeseburger, Two 1/4 lb. patties, bacon, grilled onion, cheddar cheese, AHB BBQ Sauce, topped with onion rings on a brioche bun with a side of onion rings. The portions were huge and the burger was cooked perfectly. The onion rings were pretty standard for what you'd expect but were tasty and a big portion. I was soooo excited about the Philly connection, as I'm very familiar with cheesesteaks having lived near Philly in a past life. Well, I was sorely disappointed. We were told that the bread is flown in daily from Philly. Well, I don't know where it's coming from because it's definitely not the same bread as what they normally use there. The sandwich and meat were dry and flavorless. Totally underwhelming unfortunately. So then we saw that they made key lime pie there too! Again, I was SUPER excited because key lime pie is my favorite dessert of all time. And again...disappointment. I took one glance and saw that it was light green in color and knew I was gonna be mad. Yall, Key lime pie is yellow. You should NEVER add food coloring. That's just gross and inaccurate. The texture and flavor were also off. Texturally it was way too thick and dense, which would have been fine if it actually tasted like key lime. But it was severely lacking in that tart key lime flavor that it's known for. I'd definitely go back because of the service and vibe. But I'll maybe try a burger and the cheesecake instead.

I get that smash burgers are all the rage these days, but if a burger patty spends as much time on the second side as it did on the first, it's not crustified; it's as tough and juiceless as jerky. an abundance of aging primals are on display at the WISE OX. when they're cut into steaks, the trimmings are ground for burgers. a not-particularly-wise cow died for our sins (so said the family's vegan son who begged off lunch). honor that and cook the meat properly. to not do so is beyond sacrilegious. if I told the meat cutter (aka the "butcher") I was going to use the dry-aged Rib Eyes or New Yorks he'd just carved up to make jerky, he'd be horrified. so, why isn't he raging at the guy on the grill doing that to our burgers? the BEEF FAT FRIES (aka Tallow Fried Fries) still have great flavor, but are still way, way, way too salty. check the photo, and count the visible salt crystals if your cardiologist's on speed dial.

Food, Service, Ambiance…read more This place is an absolute hidden gem in Carlsbad Village--hands down one of the best breweries around! From the moment we walked in, the vibe was perfect: cozy yet spacious indoor seating with that cool barrel wall and tap list, plus a chill outdoor patio that's dog-friendly and great for sunny days. The ambiance is welcoming and laid-back, like a spot you'd want to linger at for hours. The beer is outstanding--approachable, balanced, and seriously high-quality. We loved the Pillow Fight IPA (hoppy but not over the top) and the lighter Oh session ale--both super drinkable and full of flavor. They clearly take pride in crafting artisan brews that aren't just trendy, but genuinely excellent. And the food? Way better than your average brewery grub. The Smash Burger was juicy perfection, the Fried Chicken Sandwich had incredible crunch and flavor, and even the sides like the arugula salad felt fresh and thoughtful. Portions are generous, prices are fair, and everything pairs amazingly with the beers. Service was top-tier--friendly, knowledgeable staff who were happy to chat about the brews and make recommendations without being pushy. Felt like locals welcoming friends. If you're in Carlsbad or North County and love craft beer with seriously good eats in a relaxed, community-focused spot, do yourself a favor and check out Docent Brewing at 3060 State St. We're already planning our next visit--five stars all the way! Highly recommend to anyone looking for a standout brewery experience. Rating: (5)

Really? Or even more depending where you go. Frankly I don't know how anyone can afford it any longer but that's a different story. The new owners still don't even seem to know what they are doing after I would say 3yrs now, maybe even more since taking over this place. I used to love going here, now I go maybe once every 3 months if even that and I know why. The service is not the same, the owners are clueless and the food doesn't taste the same at all. The atmosphere of feeling like you are at home when most everyone but mostly the owner remembered you, would come talk to you, helped you and knew what she was taking about, is all gone. I was there yesterday for one of my favorite sandwiches, meatball sandwich. I like that the meatballs are small, not a size of a baseball or even larger, just perfect size, tasty etc. I go up to the register and instead of his clueless wife when you ask her a question and she looks at you as if you're from another planet then has to go and ask one of her employees which that in itself looks totally bad, this time was her husband who looks to me for now the 4th time through the year I visited, that should just stick to staying in the gym since he looks like someone that takes care of himself that way, quite fit, and although nothing at all with that, perhaps leave the deli part of it to someone else and go back to working out instead, it seems his forte. When I told him the sandwich I wanted, he clearly said to me "what would you like with the sandwich" a question I was never asked before because it simply came with a small bag of chips or pasta salad, so I asked what did the sandwich come with, "it comes" the word that he used "it comes with", not "extra charge" and he mentioned French fries, bag of chips while he pointed where the chips were, pasta salad. I said, "I'll try the French fries". Not ONE TIME he said to me that none of the items he mentioned to me were extra charge, I even told him, "oh they come with all that you just told me"? He said yes. When I paid the total came to $24 dollars, the sandwich itself was $13.65 and a coke that I ordered was $3, how did it get to $24? Well, the French fries were extra cost. Had I chosen a bag of chips, the once he pointed at were also extra charge just like if I ordered pasta salad, I found out about the extra charge from the lady that brought me the sandwich and I asked why my bill was $24 dollars, SHE, not the owner told me about the extra charges. After I said to her, "why didn't or doesn't the owner tell you so instead of saying that these extras come with the sandwich" she looked at me and said "I don't know". She didn't even know however any of the prices of the sandwich they sell. These are the new employees now. I know you are going to think why I didn't ask right away why my bill was $24 dollars. I didn't even think about it immediately, I was hungry at this point, the place was quite busy and I wanted to find a place to sit, no excuse, but didn't think about it right away. Not until I set down and then started thinking about why my bill was higher. That was my fault. I should have immediately asked and actually I should have gone to the owner afterwards and mentioned to him that he should tell the customers correctly, meaning do NOT SAY "IT COMES WITH" that means IS NOT EXTRA CHARGE. He needs to say that wherever we want with it, there is an extra, then up to the customer if he/she wants it or not. The sandwich did not taste like the way it used to taste, meatballs still small but they were very salty, and the fries although I will say cooked pretty nice, crispy and all, a very small portion and also very salty. Overall and sadly for me because I truly liked this place a lot with the previous owner, it's not a place I would go back to. The prices are as high and now higher than any other place nowadays, nothing spectacular, their bakery department is now very limited, used to be huge and very nice selections, they used to have a pastry chef in the back that made the best deserts, and I don't know if they also changed cook, but nothing tastes the same. The place is always very busy, so I am sure I won't be missed, I won't waste my money here again. The new owners should by now know what they sell, know how to interact with customers better, know the job they took over. The owners before were absolutely wonderful and great to talk to, they would interact with you ask you if everything was ok, great service from the staff. I miss them and the new owners really need to step up, it's time. The place also very dirty on floors, tables, trash cans totally disgusting and filthy.
