I've come here a few times and just kept forgetting to leave a review...so here goes nothin! I'll start by saying that the first reason o came back, was honestly the salad dressing. They use a home made Dijon vinaigrette that is UH-MAZING! It's fresh and perfectly balanced. The salads are made with real fresh deep greens The coffee is nicely brewed with a nice bold flavor. First and last time at this place. Wayyyyyy overpriced!! Rude staff too. Meringue was a third the size of my palm and was $5.20! Oh hell no! I'm a baker and could make dozens of these for $5.the almond croissant was $7.28 and totally not worth it. Starbucks has the same one for $4.25 and it tastes the same. I am giving a three stars review. I have eaten here more than ten times since they have opened. My go to is mostly the avocado toast with crapes/pastries/coffees here and there. I mostly order to-go living close. The food has been hit/miss. Which is acceptable. The minus two stars are for service and customer service. This establishment basically cooks all their food on two crepe grills. They always look overwhelmed and confused. Even though I pre-order online the order is never ready completely. They are always running around because they forgot something. Checking their order/questioning me as if I'm trying to pull a fast one. At this point whoever is helping me (including the owner?) is frazzled/upset , which translates into poor customer service without a smile and thank you. What I got instead was one soggy canele, quite clearly undercooked with no bite whatsoever. Another reviewer mentioned their crepe was also missing that desired chewiness, which thankfully prevented me from ordering that. After this canele, I believe it. The place is nice - with red and white decor - and there were 2 tables with a total of 4 people, and me at a separate table. And I waited. A few people came in and left with orders and drinks, and one couple ordered and sat outside. And I waited. Then the outside couple got their sandwiches - the inside table got their order, the second table got their dessert. And I waited. I thought 30 minutes was long enough ... to be sitting without anyone to wonder about me sitting there with a number but no food. So, I stopped the next person who worked there and asked why my salad was taking so long!! The 'chef' came over - he forgot. Then I got the Nicoise - and there was no egg. The chef then brought me a sliced egg. He offered me water - from a huge glass bottle - and even poured the first glass full for me! Wow! I did eat the entire salad - and the slice of buttered bread - and drank the water - and was sorry that I didn't 'bother' them for more dressing. I am sorry that I added a tip after ordering. I should have tipped $1 AFTER receiving the order. The gal who took my order NEVER apologized. I will NOT go back - there are French restaurants closer to where I live and they have always been attentive AND delicious. read more

While the food was tasty the service was horrendous: While ordering at the counter it was clear that the gal taking orders wasn't happy not sure why though -and then when we starting placing our order we asked if ham could be substituted or removed from a breakfast item. We were told no. We ended up selecting another item. We then ordered a specialty coffee from their menu that sounded delicious and we were told they no longer make despite being still on the menu. Also tried to order another item that was listed on the menu and again told they also no longer made. We made due and ordered other items but clearly the gal taking our order was irritated. We then sat down questioning ourselves why we didn't go to another nearby restaurant. We figured she clearly was having a bad day. We then waited for our breakfast order. Two of our three orders arrived at the same time. We waited thinking our third order would arrive in a minute or two. After nearly 15 min we approached the counter asking about our 3rd meal. At which we were then told that we didn't pay for a croissant which was strange because we never ordered a croissant. My husband then pulled up our receipt that showed our third order that we had paid for yet still had not received. The gal then quickly realized that our third order hadn't been prepared. We then waited for the third dish to be cooked. While waiting I went to the self serve water station - there was only 1 glass at the station and a couple of plastic cups. I calmly told the same employee that they were almost out of their glasses and she proceeded to glare at me and let me know to use the plastic cups. I told I had planned to do so but just wanted to let her know they were running out of cups. Again the food was delicious but the service way off. read more

This place was amazing! As someone who needs to eat gluten-free I'm always on the lookout for new places. And I love crepes! If you ask them they will use the batter for the savory crepes for any of them. You just have to let them know (savory batter is different from what they use for the sweet crepes). My friend and I split la Jambon Fromage Crêpe, and la Fruit Rouge Crêpe - both were excellent. I ordered the Noir and she ordered the Praline coffee, of the two I enjoyed Le Noir more. Madame, vous n'etes pas genereuse avec votre pâté. Best to go to a good grocery store, buy a slice of French pâté, good bread, and have it at home. This place sucks. Plain and simple. We came twice in the past week just to make sure it wasn't a fluke day. For starters, the service is AWFUL. Not very friendly and extremely slow. The first day we went around noon and was told that the kitchen was closed for a half hour so the cook could take a break. Welp, there went our plans. Still stayed for coffee and it was fine. I do find it ridiculous to close a kitchen right at lunch time. The next time we went we ordered a crepe, banana bread and coffee cake. The breads were okay, the crepe wasn't very good. The coffees took such a long time to get there. We received all of our food and ate it and still waited another 10 minutes for coffee. Let's not even talk about the to go order we placed where they gave us the wrong food and we waited a nice amount of time for it when this place has never been that busy. In California, the standard is free refills on soft drinks and iced tea -- especially if you are charged $4.50 and given what is tantamount to a glass of crushed ice. We ordered two sandwiches and two iced teas and the counter and took a table. When it came, my sandwich was drowning in pesto and after two swallows of my iced tea, I asked for a refill. The manager came to our table to explain that she would need to charge me another $4.50 for the tea. For real? Fine, may I have a cup of water?, I asked her. She pointed to the water jug across the restaurant and told me I could fetch it myself. Seriously, and then they have the nerve to expect a tip? The pastries here are very good and we have eaten lunch here in the past. I'm 100% sure I never paid twice for a refill of my iced tea. If this is a new practice, we won't be back. Mind you, I can understand a coffee shop charging per cup to avoid people ordering one drink and nursing it for hours, taking up a table. That wasn't the case. This spot is super cute! It was my first visit here. Customer service: The atmosphere felt a little awkward at first. I happened to walk in when a customer was complaining to the owner about still waiting for their coffee. Everyone could hear her conversation with the customer & her conversation with her employees about what happened. They went back & forth a couple of times. Just seemed like she could of handled that a little differently. When I got to the counter, the employee was kind & attentive. I didn't experience any delays with my order. Coffee: I just had a basic coffee-French Roast with creamer. The coffee tasted great! Note: they don't carry dairy free creamer. Food: I got the crepe with strawberries. I thought it was going to have real fruit. It only had a strawberry jam with whipped cream on top. I felt for the price, it could of came with a little more. I was unfortunately dissatisfied. As other reviewers have stated, The owner, Alexandra, is just awful! Zero customer service skills! We went there yesterday and ordered some food and a plain single cappuccino. The cappuccino came out with chocolate on it. We asked the server to please remake it without the chocolate. The owner then came out to our table and told us cappuccinos are made this way. We told her we were regulars and it had never been made with chocolate before. She continued to argue with us. We then asked that our whole order be cancelled and refunded. I asked for a receipt for the refund but she said her machine was paperless and that it was taken care of. I checked my credit card this morning and she double charged us instead of doing a refund. I guess I will be calling Chase Bank tomorrow. Maybe she was just having a bad day but we will never go back. The saddest part is that this is where my hubby and I had our first date 10 years ago - when it was Its a Grind Coffee shop. We then went to Naked Cafe a couple of blocks away and it was absolutely delicious and friendly. No chocolate on their cappuccinos unless you order it that way. read more

The first experience was my friend ordered a $12 crepe and she gave her a $50 and the cashier gave $7 back and we were confused but she corrected it. This is definitely a must have. Ever since I went in last week to try a coffee I have returned everyday. I don't go out for anything that isn't essential right now because of the virus situation and I have to say this coffee is essential for me. Le rouge- white chocolate with raspberry and milk (my all time favorite) Le praline- hazelnut with caramel and milk (this is my runner up) Le bon bon- double americano with condensed milk ( this is good but very strong, if you are a fan of a really strong coffee this one is for you) Le Nutella- Nutella spread and milk They offer 2 sizes, 12oz $5 and 16oz $6. They also have a rewards program so I suggest signing up to get your rewards because once you try it you will be going back for more. I've also tried 2 of their crepes- Breakfast crepe- ham, egg and cheese it's delicious and what you would expect, great portion and price was $11 I believe. I don't remember the name of the second one but it had turkey, aged cheddar, arugula and pesto. Super delicious, their pesto has an addicting flavor, I highly recommend any of the crepes. They seem to be very popular and I enjoyed them myself. Right now because of the virus you can stop in and take your order to go, there is street parking in the front and on the side of the building.
