Based on a Yelp! review, we decided to stop in and try it out for breakfast. We were not disappointed. Even though the parking lot was full, we were able to find a table for 3. The menu had a variety of options. Tried one of the chicken/jalapeño omelet with hash browns and biscuits & gravy. The omelet was loaded with both ingredients and just the right size. The hash browns had a good crisp to them. The biscuits & gravy were the best. You didn't have to add salt or pepper to it for taste. You may remember this location as being the site of the old Ranch House Cafe that was open for decades. Well its been brought back to like as yet another of the Freeway Cafe's. There has been a lot of money spent remodeling and upgrading the building, and the dining room area is fantastic! My buddy and I had an order of onion rings to start followed by a sandwich for him and a "Country Boy" for me (which is two slices of bread with two hamburger patties on top, covered in french fries and then topped with brown gravy). The food is great, served fast and hot. This will be a rocking place once word gets out, so go early and beat the rush! read more

Our go-to place for really good home style food. Whatever they do with their spaghetti and meat sauce is amazing! I could eat it every week with no hesitancy. I usually get that and while ordering it recently I mentioned to the server that it would be nice if they did a chicken parmigiana version. She said that they have the Italian Chicken which is basically that. I couldn't believe I had been going there all this time and had no idea that this was available! In true first world fashion I quickly changed my order to the Italian Chicken and a side salad. The only problem is they don't tell you anywhere on the menu what the Italian Chicken meal consists of so I will. You get a full plate of their original recipe spaghetti with meat sauce topped with two large pieces of perfectly fried boneless chicken and that is topped with mozzarella cheese and even more of their original meat sauce!!! Needless to say, I'm going to say it anyway in case you don't know me, I was a very happy camper. So happy in fact, that I used the term "happy camper" which is not normally in my wheelhouse of idioms. My wife ordered the breakfast chicken fried steak with gravy, two eggs, hash browns, biscuits and gravy and coffee. They have the best CFS in town and we always have enough for another meal later. For dessert, since we eat less than half of our meal, I ordered Blackberry Cobbler with a scoop of ice cream. So delicious! Another one of my favorites is the open face roast beef sandwich. A very simple meal but made better with their juicy roast beef and brown gravy with mashed potatoes. One of my favorite diner meals is Salisbury Steak and theirs is by far one of the best in town, or I should say one of the only in town. With tender chopped beef steak, flavorful brown gravy with onions and celery it hits the spot. I could go on but this is getting a little long. You won't be disappointed in anything you order. read more

The waitress was too busy talking with her friends then when we got our order, it was the worst chicken and dumplings I ever had in my life.

Out running errands around 10am and driving by Freeway, noticed there were only 3 cars in the parking lot! It only recently reopened and I figured this would be a good time to get my first dine-in breakfast in 9 weeks. Seating was spaced with plenty of social distancing available. There were only two other dining room tables occupied and one customer sitting at the counter. Greeted immediately by a mask-wearing waitress who took my coffee order. She brought the coffee and a water out and took my order. I kept my mask on while I ordered in appreciation for her. I got a single hot cake, 2 over easy eggs and bacon. It was PERFECT! Coffee was refilled a couple of times. The meal came to $12.73 including tax. I tipped $10 because it was such a good experience. On top of this, right after I ordered, I got a message on Facebook from The Church Studio right across the street notifying me that I won a drawing after I correctly named their new gallery in the renovated building. So after my meal, I headed over and picked up my new Church Studio t-shirt! Sometimes things go well. read more

First, I would like to comment on how clean The Freeway Cafe is! I had eaten at the previous restaurants that had been housed in the building. They were NASTY to say the very least. So that's kind of what I expected when I walked in the door. BOY WAS I WRONG. The Freeway Cafe is SPOTLESS from top to bottom. You can tell that this owner is committed to first impressions, and they hit it out of the park! Secondly, I would like to brag on the staff. It doesn't matter if they have every table full, or if you're the only person in the place, they are all extremely friendly, and helpful. They really seem to enjoy the customers are helpful, and professional. Now the food: It.. Is....DELICIOUS! I've ordered take out 3 times in the last 4 days. Each order was cooked to perfection, the portions were HUUUUUUGE, and kept my mouth watering. The Salmon Patties were cooked to perfection, and reminded me of my Grandmother's. The Turkey and Dressing...better than Thanksgiving. The Meatloaf...OFF THE CHAIN GOOD! The Freeway Cafe is now my go-to place when friends from out of town come to visit, and want to eat somewhere they call rave about when they go home. read more

Good southern food. My first time being here and I had met the owners on a flight before Christmas . Really nice guys who threw me a free meal out of no where. I love how friendly tulsans always are ! I had the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and fried okra it was all really delicious. This really is a gem of a diner. It's incredibly clean, bright and well decorated in a retro style that's easy on the eyes. Staff are quick and attentive and very friendly. The food (pancakes and toast, specifically) and coffee are all delicious and VERY affordable. My friend and I both had breakfast and coffee for under $10. This place was great. The inside of the building has been renovated giving it a greasy spoon diner without the greasy spoon. It is very nicely decorated and the atmosphere is pleasant while eating. The food was a pretty good sized portion for a low price. The service was excellent. Staff was prompt, friendly, and eager to serve customers. When I walked in I knew I had made the right decision. Me and my co worker come from Texas to work often here in Tulsa and when I was searching Yelp I noticed the Freeway Cafe. I am from California and I was looking for new things to try. This place popped up .The food is delish!!! Customer service is good but kind of annoying unfortunately. They ask if u are okay too many times amd its every waitress in the damn building. If they change that I would say 5 starts no hesitation. And believe it or not it is not expensive at all.
