    Back dining room

Dropped in for what turned out too be a great breakfast. This location has two main seating areas. On this visit we sat in the back room which was very clean and very quiet as there were only two other tables of guests in the room. I would say it was almost too clean because the odor of Fabuloso was in the air. Not my favorite scent. We had a very friendly server who took our drink orders and then came back to take our breakfast order a few minutes later. I ordered the Denver omelette with hashbrowns and whole wheat toast. I asked that the hashbrowns be well done. The food was delivered in a timely fashion but the hashbrowns were still not quite what I would consider well done. They were good, just not as crispy as I would like. The Denver omelette was excellent and was filled with visible chunks of ham, green pepper, onions and a little cheese. Very good. The coffee was actually pretty good. A lot of times in diners the coffee is very weak and watered down tasting. Freeway Café is on my list of frequent breakfast stops.

Black and white, checkerboard squares. Chrome, and Red Vinyl covers the chairs. Coconut cream pie and a chicken fry. Daily specials. Order Breakfast all day. Comfortable dining at the Freeway Café. The Freeway Café is a solid diner. A jaw stretching, loaded Club sandwich, with a platter of crispy fries for me. The fresh meaty filling club sandwich was all I needed. Barely touched the fries. A burger for my wife with a generous helping of the great fries. The good tasting burger had a thin beef patty dressed out with L,T, P, O and M, on fresh buns, hold the mayo. If you prefer a thick beefy burger, better order double meat. The service was fast, friendly, attentive.

Service was great! The food was good. I was hoping for better biscuits and gravy. Kind of your run of the mill breakfast places.

Service - Very friendly Food - excellent and food was fast! Very busy but all the staff were very attentive and kind. They even sang happy birthday to one of the staff! Love this place. I highly recommend it for any and all food .

    Platter of Eastside Onion rings

I have eaten at the Freeway Cafe for many years. They have three locations in Tulsa. It is a down home come as you are family restaurant. They have an extensive menu to select from. For an appetizer we usually order the Eastside Onion Rings (an old recipe from the old East Side restaurant). If you are old enough you may have eaten there. I usually order the chicken fried steak that is very large, or like this time I ordered the broasted chicken with mashed potatoes, corn and a side salad. My wife ordered a vegetable dinner. With salad, brown beans, French fries. The onion rings come piled high on a platter. Enough for four people. The Broasted chicken comes with a leg, wing, thigh and a breast. ( I already ate the drumstick before I remembered to take the pictures ) It was very good. Only drawback to ordering the broasted chicken is it usually take about twenty minutes because they cook it when ordered.

Absolutely all-American breakfast at its finest. Monster portions and everything was on point in a classic Americana diner ambiance. Service was outstanding. Garden omelette featured below with substituted real eggs. I'll be back Freeway Cafe!

The waitress was too busy talking with her friends then when we got our order, it was the worst chicken and dumplings I ever had in my life.

A scrambled or fried egg can only get just so bougie, same for bacon, pancakes, etc. What makes a diner stand out from the rest? In my experience it's ingredients sourced from suppliers that are outside the mainstream, and excellent service. This isn't Tally's. Tally's is a celebration of the mediocre. Once, years ago, I ordered a breakfast burrito and I got a white log on a plate that sat under a heat lamp too long. There was no sauce on it or anything on the side, just a slightly stale tortilla wrapped around some filling. Meh... I went again this morning hoping for a better experience. I ordered the corned beef hash since it's not a typical diner breakfast. Though there were only a few tables occupied it took 20+ minutes to get my food, and though it had a decent enough taste there was a chalkiness to it that put me off. I also opted for a biscuit rather than the pancake that appears on the menu, and it had a sourness to it that I just couldn't figure out. The biscuit and gravy were cold too. The staff seem to be disinterested unless you're a regular. The toaster caught fire and required three fourths of the staff to deal with it. Also, while I waited they brought out a plate of food that was apparently today's lunch special, and the entire staff stood around it taking pictures with their phones while I watched from my booth. Even the cooks came out! They totally ignored everyone in the dining room. This went on for 10+ minutes. However, on the positive side, I see loads of people eating at Tally's every day! It's very popular! They also serve meals to service members and others at the Holidays, so credit where credit is due. I'm happy they support the community. Good on them for that! I wish more restaurants did the same. For that they get a second star.

Phill sold the restaurant to Tim after owning the place for 23 years in 2020 when COVID hits its peak. After buying the place, Tim has never bothered to change the name on Yelp but the name has been changed to Tim's Diner on Google. The best thing about this diner is all the original staffs continue to work for the establishment bringing over their experiences as well of plenty of attitudes. All the employees are a little of "older" age and I love that. The only thing I don't like here is the tip system. You pay at the cashier in the front who will ask you if you would like to add a tip then the cashier would add a tip in for you and you don't have to sign anything. I prefer if they just charge me for the amount and give me the merchant copy and I can add a tip in myself. The way they're doing it puts pressure on their customers to tip. This diner has Tim's $8 favorites menu which is one of the best features, making breakfast very affordable. The food is delicious.
