Recently I hired AGD Auto Glass Direct (AKA Glastek) to replace the windshield in my car. Prior to…read morehaving it scheduled, I asked if there was any sort of cash bonus/offer. Based on my vehicle, they told me $90, at which point I filed a glass claim with AGD/Glastek on the line. Once the claim was filed, I was told by my insurance to expect a link by text to take photos of the damage. While I did receive the link, AGD/Glastek called me just a few hours later stating they had the referral to complete the work and wanted to schedule. I questioned this as I had done nothing with the link yet that was provided by insurance, yet they assured me that b/c they had the referral I was good to go. The following day they replaced my windshield, but did not give me the $90 (claimed they forgot it and would mail it). Well the following day after that, they called/text me stating they needed my help as my insurance company wasn't paying them due to an issue with the referral. They asked me to call my insurance, which I did (spent an hour of my time trying to sort out their problem). My insurance company indicated they never sent any referral as I never sent in the pics, etc. They indicated AGD/Glastek jumped the gun and should not have replaced the windshield without the proper referral in place. A day or two later after that, AGD/Glastek reached out to me and threatened that if I did not call my insurance again to assist them that they would refuse to pay the $90 cash bonus. At that point I became quite frustrated with their demeaner and/or threat, seeing they are the ones who created this entire problem. So as of now, they never paid their cash bonus that they agreed to. Beware, I would strongly encourage anyone to look elsewhere as this is clearly false advertising.

I was mislead on the phone to believe that I had zero deductible, then received a bill after work was completed for an undisclosed amount that I never authorized. I am extremely disappointed with how Safelite handled my situation, my family and I asked Safelite to provide documentation showing exactly when and how I authorized the work and agreed to be financially responsible for the charges, they were unable to provide satisfactory proof. I was told that I had a week to figure it out with my insurance company because this was now "their problem". The next day they sent me to collections. So I was mislead multiple times by these dishonest people. I have no problem paying for something I legitimately agreed to pay for. My problem is being told that I owe money without being shown documentation proving that I authorized the charge. This could have been handled professionally by simply providing the authorization records and explaining exactly what happened. Instead, the entire experience has left me feeling pressured and extremely frustrated. I would strongly recommend that anyone using Safelite get EVERYTHING in writing before allowing any work to be performed. Make sure you have documentation showing exactly what insurance is covering, what you will personally owe, and what you are authorizing. I expected much better from a company as large as Safelite. Based on the way my billing dispute has been handled, I would not use them again. I went in to speak to the manager Mario and he had left early for the day, after I waited all weekend for him to get back into the office. Was only able to reach him by phone, then he offered no help and took zero responsibility for what happened.

Any crack on the windshield gets bigger and that I needed to take care of it. I'm glad that I did. They told me we had zero deductible and asked me if I had a preference but I told them whatever you are have contracted was fine with me. They right away had me on the list with Safelite Auto Glass. Immediately I was contacted by Safelite before I knew it. They had the windshield for our Honda CRV and scheduled us for a Saturday installation. Saturday came and I was contacted by Sergio to let me know he was on his way. When he arrived first thing I asked was where would be a good location on the driveway and right off the bat told me to park near his vehicle. The installation did not take more than an hour plus he educated me on how the rear view mirror is removed as well as installing it. I have to give Sergio a big shout out for his professional experience as well as advice. Hopefully I will not have to have a windshield replaced again but if it does happen again I will personally request Sergio to the work. Thank you for your help on this.
