I did not explicitly choose to go to Safelite, as I have had negative experiences with the chain in the past. Rather, my insurance told me I could go to Safelite to have my windshield repaired. Like most Arizonans, my windshield fell victim to a rogue rock on the highway. I was able to get an appointment quickly. After a brief wait, the tech explained that they'd be repairing (not replacing) my windshield. I dropped my car off and ventured off to run some errands with a friend. About an hour later, I got the call that it was ready. The tech told me it would take about 15 minutes, but I told him there was no rush as I was leaving, so I suspect this is why it took longer than quoted. In addition to the windshield repairs and replacements, this location also does window tinting which seemed to be a fair price. read more

The communication with this place sucks. They initially came to my house to fix a crack then needed to schedule a full glass replacement. Which I assumed was going to be at my house because no one said anything else. I get a text message for the time (7:00am) I confirm it. I wake up at 6:30am to make sure I'm up, mind you it's my only day off and it's my birthday. 8:00am rolls around and i get a text message saying my appointment is at 7:00am at a satellite facility. An hour after I'm supposed to be there???????? This is the first time I even saw and address to a place I supposed to be going too. How does that make any sense? Super confusing. Safelite gets an F- from me. I know they are all over TV but just because they spend a lot on advertising doesn't mean they are a quality shop. I went through insurance to get my windshield replaced and they partner with Safelite so scheduling was super easy. The technician shows up and says he needs to make some calls to see if he can still do the job. He says his calibration system for the vehicle's safety system is giving him problems and he doesn't have the chrome trim at the top of my windshield in case it gets damaged during the process so I will have to get it done another day or bring it into their shop. They know what car they are working on ahead of time so to not be prepared is unacceptable. Also, why can't you do the job without damaging the trim? Sounds like you don't what you are doing. And if your system isn't working perhaps proactively let the customer know so they can reschedule and not wait around for you all day. They don't value your time and insult your intelligence by showing up so woefully unprepared to do the job. He also swore he will have his "manager" call me back by the end of the day. Guess what did not happen? That's right no call back. Only a giant waste of time. I went forward with ProLite and they were punctual and professional. Had it done in 45 mins. I got an appointment at Safelight to have my windshield replaced on our Nissan Ariya. I dropped it off only to receive a call that there were error codes preventing the replacement from being done. It was a bummer but clearly not in Safelights control so I rescheduled for 10 days later. My appointment is scheduled for one hour from now and I get a call the glass is not in and asking if I can bring it in later today. I have plans for later today so that doesn't work for me. As I was explaining that to the guy that called he hung up on me. Yes, I was frustrated, but I've worked in customer service for over 25 years. Hanging up on a customer is never the answer. I am going somewhere else that values my business. By no means is hanging up on a customer the right thing to do. There is plenty of competition for glass replacement and I will gladly go somewhere who can not only get the glass by my appointment time but also NOT hang up on a customer. You had ample time to get the proper glass and had the representative on the phone handled the situation better I would still be a Safelight customer. While installing an insurance covered windshield, the technician caused an additional $725+ damage to my truck breaking parts unrelated to the windshield--e.g., hood cowl and dash mounted Edge CTS engine computer. Having our windshields replaced at least once a year on all our vehicles, we will not be utilizing Safelite's services going forward given the experience on this occasion. It's not worth the added expense and frustration to remedy the additional damage they cause. RESPONSE TO SAFELITE CUSTOMER CARE: Multiple efforts to communicate in writing and via phone with Safelite Customer Care resulted in the same outcome...the Safelite shop managers responsible for the install and damages needed to address the matter. I have had two windshields replaced on my car and SUV by Safelite and both have had significant issues. The first windshield replacement caused our forward safety systems to malfunction. This required a visit to the dealer for repair. The most recent experience Safelite came to my home to replace the windshield which ended up with a loud air leak. I had to take it to the Safelite facility for the warranty work. I was told it would take 2 1/2 hours for repair which I was not advised to expect.This was extremely inconvenient. One might think, but this night; unlike others would leave its mark for a moment. Run to the car, fast trip to Walgreens, right! Wrong ! Let's explore what just happened! It's a quarter to eleven, the clock will strike midnight in less than an hour. The consequences this eve are about to take place. As I park the car in the front of Walgreens; the lighting is dim at best. Five minutes is a long time and can change your life. As I'm shopping and gathering snacks for the next day, crash it's all shattered. I step out of the store to find glass all over my seat. Stunned at what happened I am unable to function for a moment. Looking around for someone to shake me free of the stun, I run back for the store. The Walgreens staff are not helpful at all. As I stand here a nice bystander calls the police and they pull up to the chaos that's unfolding. The one time that the police jump to action. In Las Vegas it's a felony when you break into a car or smash the window. From the cops words, they might as well stolen the car. GTA Right! This is no video game either, it's real life. The police did a great job at taking a report so that I may reclaim the items that were taken. "Stuff" per say is replaceable; people are not. No one was injured. Thankful blessings that one must always remember. As the police roam and search for the thief, I stay here stunned at how fast it happened. In the blink of an eye, your belongings are gone. We always must move forward. Never backwards. Being afraid is alright too. While I might avoid Walgreens for a minute, life does move on. The next set of calls have to be from the insurance company. Even though the theft occurred in one spot, the glass coverage was attainable with the same benefits as in my home state of coverage . Upon entry to the Safelite, the receptionist could not of been more pleasant. Peace of mind as I hand over those keys to trust these individuals to repair my window. That call comes in, "yeah!" My car is ready and it's ready six hours ahead of time. Happiness sets in as I will be able to feel safe again because my passenger side window is again as it should be. Faith over fear always. The pleasure as I got into the car was again renewed. The experience that Safety light provided to me was unquestionably stellar. Just had my windshield(bunch of rock dings)and back window(someone busted) done. First appt was supposed to be on Saturday, showed up at 640am,but they didn't have the windshield. Today they did the windows and the back window is now not tinted. Come to find out ,thats normal but they didn't even tell us. Insurance said they could have done it. Just charged us and been reimbursed. So now we have to take off more time to get the window tinted. First and last time using safelite. Do not go there! Insurance company recommended Safelite. I have used them in the past. I have a 2025 KIA. Took the vehicle in on 7/8 to have windshield replaced. After waiting 4 hours at a nearby restaurant as the air conditioning was broke in the reception area. I was told the winshield was not fixed as the "GENERIC" glass they put on would not calibrate the sensors. Safelite would need to have approval from my insurance for KIA glass. Went back on 8/15 to have KIA glass installed dropped off vehicle, 4 hrs later car is finished. Few days later sensors going off every day. Take back to Safelite. "Fixed it" again. Sensors keep going off. Took vehicle to dealership for oil change on 8/7. Told by dealership, Safelite has the warranty on the sensors as it is in the windshield. Called Safelite to make yet another appointment. told they could not get it in until 8/14. Asked the service to have the manager call me. Stopped at Safelite on my way home. Again took vehicle to check. While there I get a phone call from manager to talk about vehicle. Told him to come on out since i was in his waiting room, never did. Again told vehicle is fixed. Received an email stating they were unable to calibrate. Called and asked about email, told it is an automatic email. As of today sensors still going off. read more

I took it back in and the guy cleaned it and i told him i could still see a scratch. He then threw a fit and said " i mean if that's gonna bother you then we can get you a whole new windshield, but there's no way you're seeing that when you're driving." okay but i saw it? while i was driving? not even an hour later? Safelight Autoglass was an absolute nightmare to deal with. We made the mistake of using them because our insurance company uses "safelite solutions" to administer their third party glass claims, so we thought it would be a smooth process. The first technician totally left molding off our car. When we called them about it they denied it ever had molding at all despite photos showing that it did. I called our insurance company and they said Safelite billed them for molding. They agreed to come out to "fix" it. They sent the exact same person. The molding looked like a toddler installed it- wrinkled- and the windshield whistled when you drove due to the gaps. They wanted to "warranty" the work for a third attempt and tried to insist that we had to use a Safelight shop again. It was a huge battle to get our insurance company to let us use a new company to finally fix the windshield. The other company fixed it on their first attempt and showed us how awful the job was as they removed the molding and you could see where the gaps were that it hadn't been sealed properly. In total, it took over a month to get our windshield finally replaced and hours of my time. The shop manager that I spoke with was totally unprofessional about the situation- chuckling that he was at a competition all week which is why a new guy was sent to do the work. The district manager I finally got ahold of seemed to understand that it wasn't acceptable for it to require 3 attempts for a simple windshield replacement, and offered to send a $200 check for our hassle but of course it's been several weeks and we haven't seen them follow through on that- not at all shocking. Make sure to check out the photos of the workmanship you can expect if you choose Safelite; I highly recommend you search yelp for more highly reviewed, reputable glass companies and choose wisely. read more

I had a shattered back widow and was uncomfortable driving my car. I called on a Sunday and could not get an appointment until the following Saturday. I selected the 7-11 AM time slot because I had a very full afternoon. I set my alarm and got up at 6:45 Saturday morning and waited and waited. The technician called me at 9:50 to say he was on his way. He arrived at 10:45. I thought 7-11 meant they would be done by 11! He estimated completion in 60-75 minutes so I agreed to go ahead. The time was actually 105 minutes and I was late for my first appointment. The technicians vacuum did not work well. He called to have someone help him and the second technicians vacuum was broken. The technician did his best to clean up. He did a good job, so I am not giving his name. BUT I AM DISSATISFIED WITH SAFELITE. I was third on the list and should have been told that their arrival time would be late in the 7-11 period so I was not in waiting mode so long. If this location had a technician driving a van in the vicinity of 91st Avenue and Northern Avenue, they are now the reason I will never be using Safelite as a company. The man driving a Safelite van tried to run me off the road when I was going with the flow of traffic simply because he couldn't handle me merging in front of him, even though he had tons of space and I was easily keeping up with traffic. I feel sorry for whoever else he endangered when he felt the need to swerve into the left one just to fly around myself and other vehicles just to slam on his brakes to make a right turn on 91st Avenue. If this is the kind of people that Safelite hires and trusts to drive their vehicles, I will ensure no one I know ever uses them. When I claimed for warranty, before even coming to our home and taking a look, the technician decided that it was caused by accident and not covered under warranty. Then he came and told that it started cracking because there was an impact. I told him that there is no point of impact but he would not replace it under warranty (attached photos here). My windshield was damaged while driving home from work on the 17 by a huge ass rock that was kicked up by the semi-truck in front of me. When I made it home, I inspected the new damage. I knew it would be a matter of time before the cracks spread. Lo and behold, it did spread overnight. There was no way it could be repaired and my hubby and I tried to file a claim with our insurance company to get it replaced. After speaking with the insurance company, we found out that we would have to pay out of pocket to replace it (currently in the works to review current coverage and possibly switching companies. Disappointed.). They did recommend Safelite as their first choice and gave us tips on what to say and ask to receive some discounts for the repair. I was initially concerned about the quality of work that I will be receiving after checking out the reviews for this location. I was initially shopping around when my hubby booked an appointment with Safelite for today and instead of cancelling the appointment, I went ahead to get it done so I wouldn't have to drive around with this huge crack impairing my line of sight for any more time than I needed to. During the initial shopping around, I found that the price they charged were in line with what others charged for my particular situation. At least that put my mind at ease that I wasn't getting ripped off. This location is conveniently located a short distance from the 101 and has a TV and coffee/water if you choose to wait for the repair and they have ample restaurants and stores within walking distance if you choose to kill time elsewhere. I was lucky enough to live close to here and have my hubby drive me back home to wait. Aside from the small hiccup at check-in, I found the overall experience to be great and would recommend this place. Tips: Ask your insurance company if they have a code or something you can tell Safelite to receive some discount if you have to pay out of pocket like me. I'm a Progressive customer and I told Safelite that I was a customer of theirs and asked for a "cash quote" for my small discount. And absolutely follow the instructions of the tech! I wish I had gotten my tech's name but he seemed to genuinely care about my happiness of the job and made sure I understood what needed to be done in order to have the best results. You may experience faster service if you can visit one of their physical locations. We initially chose their mobile service but on top of a service fee they charge for this, it also had a longer wait time. The next available appointment was 2 days after we first made the call to set up the appointment and they have this 5 to 6 hour window they can come by in. I called and made an appointment, they showed up and installed the glass. I got home just as the tech was finishing up. I found that the Crack in my dash had become a large smash in my dash. I asked the tech about what happened and he told me it was like that. He told me he took pictures of it. So I had them send the pictures to me only to find he had lied about the size of the damage. He contacted a manager, who then tried to offer me 50 off the glass install, then later offered to buy me a dash mat. I was disgusted with the level of disrespect. They just kept playing it off like it wasn't a big deal because it had a Crack to start with. The Crack was fixable for me. They finally set me up with a dash repair guy who said he was going to put a plastic vaner over the dash. The dealer said it would look bad over time. This last weekend, 3 days after window was put in, I went over to the truck to show my nephew the dash and he noticed a Crack in the new window. The truck is not legal to drive yet and has not been on the road, there is no impact damage. I called to let them know I was not happy. They sent a tech to look and that was yesterday. Tech said he would get back to me that night and I have yet to hear from them. So I'm now out 360.00, and my dash is destroyed and window is still cracked. I paid out of pocket for this window.
