Here's an update to my story. Customer Service replied via their reply bot recommending I reach out to them via phone or email. So I called the number provided in the response. Got ahold of a guy who said he could do nothing but put me in touch with a general manager. I Said the same "General Manager" that put the screws to me and kicked me down the road???? How's that gonna help??? That's like sending me to therapy and the therapist is the person that assaulted me.... No thanks!!! So the person at the call center said they would escalate my complaint to a person higher up the food chain than the general manager and they would call me back within 24 to 48 hours.... That was over a week ago and not one person from sun.auto/Wilhelm Automotive customer service has called me back, emailed me, anything.... Ghosted by Wilhelm Automotive Sun Auto Customer Service.... I'm sharing this for anyone going in for services. I called on a Tuesday looking to get a reservation for an oil change. The gentleman said I could just walk it in Friday morning. I then asked about pricing because it had been some time since I'd been to Wilhelm, they did my oil changes about 3 times in the past but the past few times had been booked. The gentleman said $45 and there are also some coupons they can give me. I said GREAT! Thank you. They open at 7:30 so I dropped my kids off to school and made it there at 7:20. Got checked in, handed over my keys and walked home. I get a call shortly later after receiving my car report. I asked about them adding wiper blades that needed replacing. They said it would be $16 for each side. Then he continues to tell me that the price of my oil change for that day was $74.46 as seen on the estimate. I explained I had a sheet from them and that also the gentleman had stated $45. His response, "so you can't afford the windshield wipers today, ok so it'll be $xx. I explained that I had budgeted for the oil change, I'm a widowed mother and a $5-10 difference is what I budget but not a $30 increase. He said I had $11.43 in my rewards account and they would deduct that. It still came to $63.03. Prior to this, I've never had an issue with this company. Always kind service. I felt let down. I think a lot of businesses once they are established find a way to take advantage. Attaching pictures of everything for reference. Just be careful, to me it seemed like a good old bait and switch. Avoid Wilhelm Automotive if you value professionalism and respect. My experience here was nothing short of frustrating and insulting. I brought my vehicle in for diagnostics and paid $135 for what turned out to be a quick check. Their solution? Replace the battery for $300, even though it worked fine the night before. When I declined their overpriced service and said I'd replace the battery myself, the mechanic became visibly irritated and kept going on about "Economics 101," as if charging outrageous prices and being condescending were part of some grand lesson. They they became rude about requesting the veteran discount. It didn't stop there despite me being nothing but nice to them. When I returned to replace the battery myself, they refused to reset a simple warning light, smugly claiming that I hadn't "paid them enough" for the service. Keep in mind, the diagnostic they charged $135 for took less than an hour. This shop's attitude is appalling. Their priority isn't solving problems but milking customers for every cent. If you're looking for fair, honest service, steer clear of this place. read more

We had a 2012 Ford Focus that this facility replaced the Motor Mounts. We were very happy with the work. 2 weeks later the engine starting making a horrible noise. Took back to Wilhelm Automotive, was advised the fee to review would be $200.00, and repairs covered if it was Wilhelm's error. Rec'd a call later and was just told we needed a new engine. Picked up the car and noticed was only charged about $100.00 of the fee. Took car to another facility (not Wilhelm) and they found that there was a loose bolt in the engine that may have not been tightened when the Motor Mounts were replaced. $200.00 later, car is running better than ever. Was very dissapointed in Wilhelm of the diagnosis we were given about needing a new engine. Had been very happy with Wilhelm up to this point. read more

The best experience I've ever had! I LITERALLY too my 2016 Kia Optima to a KIA mechanic ship 3 times. They could not figure out why my engine light was on. So- I took it to Wilhelm and they fixed my car. All they needed was a new sensor and spark plugs !!!! I will Never take it back to a KIA (supposed professionals) who couldn't figure it out. Engine light did not come back in the next day, nor the next. I've driven it 100+ miles ans this car runs better than when I first got it at 80k miles years ago (it's at 118k now). COME HERE. I took both mine and my wife's card into Wilhelm for some much needed work. They did a fantastic job on both vehicles and got the work done in a very reasonable timeframe, especially considering what I needed done. They also differed from other mechanics I've been to in the sense that I didn't get an impression that they were trying to get me to pay for unnecessary work or tell me something's wrong that isn't. They appeared and felt like they were being honest every step of the way, and communication was perfect. I'm very satisfied with the repairs to both vehicles and will be returning for future service to our vehicles. The only gripe I would say if I had to say anything is: after getting my vehicle back, I had a low tire pressure warning. It would've been nice if they topped off my tire pressure afterwards as is customary at most other mechanics. And the other, which is minor, I had a headlight out that I had forgotten about until my car battery was replaced and they didn't ask/offer to swap it out. But it's better than them telling me a light needed to be fixed when it didn't so it's minor. All in all, great service, great communication, friendly, knowledgeable. I had a positive experience here and would recommend to friends. Edit: they're also one of the few places open on Saturday, and that was a huggggeeee plus for me as I work mon-fri business hours. read more

My car came in with a cracked radiator that took nearly a week to fix. They DID NOT COMMUNICATE with me I had to call them everyday and ask wth was going on.(the only reason I brought it there was because they said it could be done same day.) They finally replaced the radiator and I picked my car up with a CHECK ENGINE LIGHT I NEVER HAD BEFORE that they "knew nothing about." They also didn't give me a full safety report on my vehicle like they said they were going to... A WEEK LATER MY CAR STARTED TO OVERHEAT. I brought it to another shop that I trust and they informed me that these guys DID NOT BLEED THE COOLING SYSTEM and there were air pockets in my cooling system. This could have potentially BLEW MY MOTOR. This place is a ripoff. Don't recommend. read more

Called for a quote to have an alternator removed and a new one installed. Gave them a model of the vehicle, told me that the vehicle needed to be brought in to diagnose. I already identified the problem, I asked them to quote me on a swap, and the dude hung up on me, deserves zero stars, no customer service skills at all. read more

Had a full spark plug replacement done along with other 90,000+ mile maintenance on my vehicle and it's very evident that when we got it back, damage was done to the cover (shown). Pieces broken off and it was tweaked to where it no longer is flush. Wilhelm refused to take responsibility for the damage (that was 100% not there before bringing it in for service). We brought it back and was told by the manager that it's a he said, she said situation and claimed that the damage was already there. False. Their attitude was that if we wanted it fixed, that we could probably get the part cheaper thru a dealership. Such BS and bad workmanship/ no integrity to not stand by the customer. Beware, the lesson here is to take pictures before and after work is done. We will absolutely not use Wilhelm ever again. read more

Unfortunately, I've been to Wilhelm waaay too many times. I like the one on 59th too:) They are ALWAYS so kind and caring. When my tire blew on the freeway, it busted my back bumper as well. They pinned it back together so it looked nice for me:) They are fast, straightforward, reliable, and truly caring. I had a small communication issue last time (phone number typed in wrong so no phone call when car was done, they also didn't contact the account owner which it was my boyfriends and it was his car I took in) but it really was quickly resolved and I understand how we were both sort of rushing and underestimating time that day lol. I had a Terrible experience with wilhelm Automotive . I went there today assuming I could leave my car there because they close at 5:30 pm. I got there at 2:05 pm spoke to Marty or a Muarry. He asked me what I needed I said a oil change. He asked me if I had a appointment. I said I didn't know I needed to have a appointment for a oil change. He told me he had no room for an oil change on his schedule for today. He said I could bring my car back tomorrow and leave it all day and possibly they could do the oil change done. I asked him when his next appointment was he told me it was Wednesday. Today is Friday the 9th five days till next appointment. On a positive note They have so much business they can turn business away. This place is great, I went in for a standard oil change and I discussed a previous problem I had with a tire sensor that kept showing up on my dashboard. The dealership I went to in the past notified me of it and tried to charge an outrageous price to replace the sensor. After discussing it with Wilhelm they did a check and noticed nothing wrong with the sensor and just restarted the car's computer and it fixed the problem. Those guys at Willhelm Automotive are awesome. I was having a rough day had just got off work when my tire pressure sensor was low, I live in the area and went right to them. I could see they were busy but they helped me out quickly, Marty was the technician who patched my tire he was honest, courteous, fast and professional. We were greeted right away and checked in for our appointment. They called us when our vehicle was completed and let us know that they topped off the fluids. They told us about the brakes needing to be replaced. We knew that but it was good that they didn't try to scam us or say something was wrong with our vehicle when it wasn't. Took my car in and they broke my engine cover while doing maintenance on my car. Going back to see what happened they claimed no fault and made me look dumb as if I didn't know what they did to get the maintenance done ! They put it as a he said she said problem and told me I could find the part cheaper at a dealer. Don't take your car here for services if you don't know a lot about cars they will possibly break something or doing something incorrectly without you knowing in hopes you won't notice and when you come back they will say that was already there! read more
