I've tried several items from here, including a few salads, sandwiches and a breakfast meal. Everything has always been exceptional. They do their best to get people in and eating as fast as they can. Without sacrificing the food. I never can finish the toppings on the salad (I wish the toppings to lettuce ratio was a little more even for the "healthier" option). Their sandwiches are not only super tasty, but a really good size for what you get. And tons of options. All in all a great place. I really don't have anything negative to say about it. All things considered, this place was alright. The staff was helpful and polite overall and the prices were around what I was expecting before we came in. I liked what I ordered, but the beef patty in the burger tasted like the burger patties you might buy at Kroger. The cheese was powerful and salty, which can be good or bad, depending on your preference. My wife ordered an item which tasted good overall, but a bit oily (but not surprising, given what she ordered). Also, the portions are large and I think most people leave here feeling full. There is the option to make your sandwich or burger a combo for $3.50, which we did. They do a la carte type ordering, so you can get just the sandwich or burger or add on fries and a drink, or just combo it. For the price versus quality, it's a decent place to visit! read more

Tried this place for the first time yesterday. Staff was rude. I got a Texas Philly and my friend got a burger. My total came out to $27. Texas Philly was less then mediocre, the "steak" was nasty and the burger was barley above Wendy's. Fries were great. read more

Great food. Great prices. What more could you ask for? My husband brought me here for the first time, I'm not sure how the general public would find this restaurant but I'd like to think it's a best kept secret now. The portions are very generous and the food comes out piping hot! I've only tried the breakfast but I'm looking forward to their lunches. The menu isn't overwhelming and everything looks quite appetizing! I would like to see the environment a little nicer. The stickers on the window, old vinyl peeling, older table tops surrounding the restaurant makes the place look like a hole in the wall. I wouldn't take my out of town guests here just because visually, it's unappealing and not everyone is as openminded as us. I love that's it's locally owned and operated! I was on business, travelling from the DFW area, and this place was by my hotel, so I thought I'd give it a try because it had excellent reviews. This didn't affect my rating in anyway, but let me first say that if you haven't been here before, you order off of a big chalkboard menu and pay at the counter when you order. It's a sit-down restaurant, but there's no wait staff. But like I said, that doesn't change anything. My review is on the food. I ordered breakfast. I had an omelette, which was fine. It wasn't great, but it wasn't bad. It came with white bread toast and one of those deep-fried hash brown patties. I ordered a pancake on the side, and it was pretty good. The coffee was very good. This place isn't bad. There's just nothing that great about it either. read more

I went here two days in a row. The first day I got the grilled chicken burger which was DELICIOUS!!! The curly fries were great too. The second day I got the Fried mushrooms which were ok. I think they could have had a little more flavor or seasoning. I also ordered the steak (well done) salad. The steak was over done and too tough to chew. I was a bit disappointed. But I will definitely be going back to this place because my 3 coworkers enjoyed their food: turkey burger and cheese burger. Food is hot and fresh to order. Working right around the corner from this place I've heard my coworkers talk about Freddy's for quite some time. I finally knuckled under and gave them a try, first for breakfast. I got their three alarm tacos and wow, they were loaded full of stuff inside and popping with flavor. Their salsa tops them off perfectly. Today me and a coworker went their for lunch. Their burgers and fries are as good as their breakfast. Do not worry if these are not things you would eat because they have a big menu to choose from. Wonderful Freddy's omelette with yummy salsa. My kids got one kids order of pancakes and a side order of bacon and it was a hit and more than enough to split between the 2 of them. Seriously so much food! The bacon was crisp and large strips. The omelette with side of home fries was SO filling and the price was amazing. I paid $16 and change total for the omelette with come fries and toast, 3 large "kids" pancakes (1 order comes with 3 pancakes), a sausage patty (comes with the kids pancakes), a side order of bacon (3 hearty strips) and one scrambled egg on the side (which no one had room to eat lol)! I want to come back and try their lunch selection soon. If this first trip of ours was an indication of a typical experience at Freddy's I HIGHLY recommend them! read more

Diner food kicked up a notch. Good eats with a dab of haute cuisine. OK, first, useful tip. This place is kind of hard to find. Think service road of Service Road of I-10. Get off at Park Ten (outbound) or make a U-ey inbound then look to make a right then a pseudo-Uey at Creek to get into this throwback strip mall...it's next to the Post Office. I think the breakdown of my staple will define this place for you. It's the Steak and Blue Cheese Salad. The salad is basic. Basic greens, typical croutons, tomato slices. A pure liquid "blue cheese" salad dressing that is moderately distinguishable from ranch. To this diner fare, add legit blue cheese chunks and a thin steak fresh grilled, nicely, subtly seasoned. Slaps the basic steak salad at the local "steakhouse" outta town. And that's the rub. The meat on the salads--beef or chicken--touches a real grill. The sandwiches? The Texas Cheesesteak is good, with mushrooms, onions, and peppers grilled in, and the absolutely creamiest cheese on top. It's on the reasonable-sized portion, not giganto (though with a side a full meal). I've not had others, but the menu steers toward the grilled (burger/grilled cheese/chicken sand). Fries? Many kinds. Go for the waffle-cut or the spiral fries, both delicious. The popular choice is the wavy cut fries, which succeeds as a comfort food that exploded following the invention of the microwave oven, but doesn't float my boat. Two comments: ASK. CHOICE. Oh...or, get a side SALAD for the same price. Ultimately, this place succeeds because they do great things with simple ingredients and they offer a range of choices to please different palates. I came out here because of the wonderful reviews, but I'm not sure why it's rated so high. It was good, but not 4.5/5 stars worth in my opinion. I had the Greek Wrap and my boyfriend had the Buffalo Burger. My Greek Wrap came with some "Greek Dressing," which in my head translated to tzaziki sauce (but it wasn't). It was more like Thousand Island Dressing. And there was way too much dressing/sauce inside the wrap. I tried eating the first half normally but by the last third, it was falling apart in my hands. The second half I just unwrapped and ate like a salad. Not a good sign. My boyfriend's buffalo burger (with avocado) was ok, too. Nothing spectacular. I did not like that they used white burger buns for it. I've never been a fan of white bread (except French/Italian breads) and this just tasted like the buns you'd get at McDonald's. Again, when I see buffalo burger on a menu, I assume it's aimed at more health-conscious consumers (buffalo is supposedly leaner than plain beef patties). As such, I would think they would choose a healthier bun to go along with it. The service was great. The food wasn't memorable. Considering how many other great restaurants I could find closer to where I live, I doubt I'll venture out here again anytime soon. read more

Oh my wow! This place was great. Our family of four ate a full breakfast for $27 and had so much food left on our plates. The portions are large. The omelets are great. The Tacos are so full that you can't close them. The staff is very conscious of allergies and worked very hard to make sure that I ate great but didn't end up in trouble. We will be back. read more

I came here for breakfast and had "Freddy's Omelette" with coffee. The coffee was good. The omelette was good. I cannot remember if there was a side (is that a good or bad thing?). It is an order-at-the-counter-and-come-get-it-when-its-ready place, so there was not any real test of their service. That said, the service I did get was great. The staff was very nice and cheerful, which is always a plus. I would definitely go again. read more

Granted, I have only had the breakfast tacos, but why would I want to mess with a good thing? Okay, so Freddy's has become my default Friday afternoon lunch spot. Its such a relief to support a small locally owned business (AKA not Murphys) that really appreciates your patronage. They have a huge menu with an always excellent soup of the day and usually some sort of special on Fridays. I've had everything from Tom Kha Gai and green chili chowder with pork to rigatoni with homemade sauce. Even simple things like chicken tenders are excellent, and actually really cheap. Love this cafe. More so for convenience than anything. My office is extremely close, so my coworkers and I frequent this place quite often. The salads are ginormous, literally. 3 of us have split 1 before. Hamburgers, chicken tenders and wraps are good too. Had the fried mushrooms last week, those were surprisingly good. Their menu is pretty extensive for a local cafe. I've been meaning to try their breakfast tacos. But what earned this place the 3rd star is the service. Great new place I've found. Enjoyed the Cajun grilled tilapia on a wheat bun with lettuce and tomatoes with a side salad. Its small with cafe vibe and clean.
