    Tasty Diavola Pizza!

This place is a very cozy place with a cool vibe. It is also in a convenient location for my lunch business meetings. The waitstaff is very nice and welcoming. The waiter we had was also very good at staying on top of all our needs. I ordered The Lobster Roll ($35) and a French Onion soup. The lobster roll, unfortunately was extremely heavy on bread but very light on lobster. Frankly it was disappointing. The French soup ($8 or $9) was small and fairly average in flavor. I've been here a few times and recall giving a much better review, then. Something must've changed.

Since hearing good things about Freda's I wanted to give this place a try for my bday. We sat outside and the view was nice. Service was a little slow since there was only one waitress. But she did a great job. We ordered the spinach & artichoke dip and mac & cheese bites first. The spinach dip had a soupy like consistency and immediately left a bad taste in our mouths. The crostinis were the highlight of that appetizer. At first bite the mac & cheese bites were okay, however the longer we ate them the more the taste declined. My son had the chicken nuggets and fries. I ordered the chicken scallopini and my husband the cubano. I'm sad to report the only thing good between the dishes were the fries. According to my son the nuggets were "awful." My pasta was so bland I couldn't finish it. My husband was not a fan of the cubano and also mentioned how bland tasting it was. The only saving grace was the nice chocolate cake I received for my birthday. Turns out they just hired a new cook. Unfortunately, we weren't the only ones to feel this way, we overheard another table say they refuse to pay for their food as it was just as bad. EDIT TO ADD: 3.5 stars We went back the next day and tried their wings, cheese pizza, pepperoni pizza, and the cheeseburger. I'm happy to say the second time around the food was much better, however it wasn't anything to write home about. Overall, I'd say Freda's is a hit or miss and idk if we'd honestly go back.

Quick Stop In.....Great customer service! We stopped in for a quick refreshment on a weekday night. An hour before closing, 8pm on weekdays, the restaurant has happy hour with select wine, beer and cocktails. We grabbed a couple of cocktails off the menu and settled in with some meatballs. The meatballs were spot on due to the yumminess of their tomato sauce that hit the spot. We soon found out that the owner of the yummy sauce was around the corner from the bar- we had the opportunity to meet the cook, Melissa, and learn about her secret recipe- First of all the sauce is homemade....and cooked for 8-10 hours with carrots, not sugar. The sauce is nice and thick with the perfect amount of sweetness. They should bottle this sauce! We also appreciate the great bartender Danielle (sorry if misspelled) who warm and friendly. Due to the great customer service we had during our short visit, we would definitely come back again!

Phil is an amazing manager and great staff. The food was amazing especially on mother's day weekend he accommodated us without reservations and he we both understood. It was busy but he came through like a G. Thank all the waitress and workers all the cooks. Thank you for a great experience. We Will be back!!!

We first visited Freda's when they just getting started at this location. They were so new that they didn't have their liquor license yet. We recently returned, and brought a friend with us to enjoy an early meal after we'd done the Camarillo Hospice Garden Tour together. Our friend/neighbor can't handle gluten, so she was happy that there were options on their menu for her to try. She went with an order of salmon pizza. It came out looking gorgeous, and she loved the taste. There was plenty to take home and for her to have lunch for the next day. For my part, I noticed that they had lobster roll on the menu, and an instant craving was born. Dear Hubby and I decided to share the lobster roll entree, which came with a generous amount of fries. We also got a side Caesar salad. It ended up being plenty of food for us as the lobster roll has a very rich, satisfying taste. It was very yummy, and I'd be happy to order it again. We could have opted to sit outside, but a large party was taking the whole outdoor space. We were cozy inside and received great service. The bar is definitely open now, and Freda's is in full swing. We got there early, and they quickly filled up, so our timing was good. When I went to the restroom, I noticed an interior room that I didn't know existed before. I asked one of the staff members about it. It's the right size for a small group gathering. I think it can hold about 20 people, and it's separated from the main dining room. If you were having a business meal, or a family celebration, it would be a great space in a history building to enjoy. If you haven't tried Freda's, I'd suggest putting it on your list of local gems to experience.

We met our friends at Freda's who had not had the experience of dining there and much to our surprise Freda's just started serving brunch and as always Phil and his amazing crew continue to serve fabulous and delizioso entrees. My wife and I are very partial to Freda's and truly believe in supporting local businesses especially when they continue to bring quality service that serves amazing dishes. We sat outside and enjoyed great weather on a Sunday afternoon, if you haven't been to Freda's you are missing out. Great ambiance, happy hard working staff that takes pleasure in serving you, prices are reasonable and with the full bar the cocktails are just as good as the overall dining experience that Freda's brings. Brunch, Lunch or Dinner you can't go wrong with this amazing local businesses especially so please try it, you won't be disappointed. Mangiamo!

This is a nice welcome to the evolving landscape of High Street. On approach, it seems like it's a Victorian style saloon. But push past the doors and it's light, bright and modern. Think barn with a chandelier kind of aesthetic. They offer lunch and dinner in the small dining room. In warmer weather or with heaters, you can enjoy the veranda porch outside seats or the side patio seating. The menu is solid. A few sandwich choices, a few pizza choices, a few salads and a few mains. There is something for everyone. Yes, there are a few apps and happy hour too. The food is California cuisine. We got happy hour drinks and I very much enjoyed my margarita. It comes served in a high ball. I loved that. My husband enjoyed a Boylan non alcoholic soda. We liked the big steak (20+ Oz) and the chicken parm plate. I got a side salad with honey mustard and really enjoyed it. Steak was cooked to order, it comes with a butter sauce on top, I recommend asking for that to be light, it was a bit too much for our preference, but easy to scrape off enough. We took home leftovers and had a second dinner the next night and a pizza for friends. Our friends loved the pepperoni pizza saying it was good crust and plenty of pepperoni. All in, $130 + tip. We went big, could have just had a pizza and drinks and been out for around $40 + tip. Less if stick to happy hour menu. You can find a way to stick to a budget, just depends on hunger, any drinks, and food desires. It's small, so it's busy. I loved to see customers pouring in. We need more good restaurants in Moorpark and Camarillo! I don't recommend it for families, it just doesn't have that little kid feel to me, but if you sat outside on a nice evening, it could work. It's a mix between a night out and casual with an old friend catch up kind of place. Happy hour is Tuesday-Sun 3-5, 8 to close. Staff are so nice and willing to assist as needed but happy to let you enjoy yourself. Parking is limited so may need to park on street. See website for more details.

(No other patrons that I saw were subject to this scrutiny) The Ugly: we each had one drink and shared two yellow tail sashimi starters. Upon asking for another round we were rather surprised to find out our party was cut off from the bar. Water and bread only. The sashimi eaten we took the indignation in stride and decided to wait until the barmaid deemed it acceptable to serve us again. Now it gets bad, one of our party became ill and threw up in the bathroom, before we could even find out what was going on with her, barmaid from hell publicly informed us because one of our party was ill we were permanently cut off from the bar. Not considering the food as the culprit of said illness at all. My wife began to feel sick as well and we paid and left. She had trouble walking, speaking and breathing. She became violently ill and the smell of bad fish was overwhelming. I have a portable breathalyzer for guests to use at my home to ensure their safety if they drink. My BAC - .023 , my wife's was .024 obviously not intoxicated. Shame on M on High for such poor judgement and embarrassing their patrons. Avoiding this restaurant is going to be so easy as there's a plethora of good restaurants in the area. This is my experience, the Good, the Bad and, The UGLY.

We made a reservation to ensure seating because it did get very busy after we were seated. Great decor and design as we walked in with walls that had display pockets of the various Tequila, very cool concept. Spanish styling and color schemes along with foliage made the room feel like dining at a resort. We sat on the patio which the blinds were drawn because the weather was our typical "May Gray" for So Cal and slightly cool, but I am looking forward to returning when the weather does warm up and I can picture a resort style atmosphere while dining al fresco. Our server Darius was not only excellent he kept the evening lively and full of laughs. Being our first time there he suggested a few items and answered any questions that we had with a smile and a joke. Well done Darius! The drinks were simply delicious made with fresh ingredients and many to choose from, the menu choices were not of a typical Mexican restaurant. More complex ingredients and proteins and a unique flair. Shown below was the Duck con fit Taquitos, Mama Mia Che delizioso! Queso fundido was probably the best I have had yet served with house made corn tortillas. So many choices to choose from from appetizers to small plates to house specialties for entrees. Simply have to return to explore the menu further. Good portions and beautiful presentation served on stylish Spanish plates that match the resort ambiance. Loved how they remodeled and created their own space from the previous restaurant which we dined at many times. Staff was well trained and seen throughout the floor friendly and dressed well. Very impressive. Loved every aspect of Red O as well as the flavors, BUT my only complaint would be get some bigger tables! We originally were seated in a booth, very comfortable cushions but 4 people gathered around a small table wasn't working. We requested a change and sat at a 4 top which wasn't much bigger. Once our chips and salsa came with our drinks then our Queso Fundido and tortillas arrived we had no room on the table. Then our entrees arrived on the beautiful Spanish style oversized stoneware we were stacking things up just to get to our silverware. Must make a change, the table decor and beautiful stoneware plates are a signature look for you but you need room to display your work. And let's return to the chips and salsa, delicious house made salsa and freshly made chips but don't charge for those, your drinks and food are expensive or comparably priced for the Westlake Area you should be able to offer them as complimentary (just my opinion) I know in todays economy nothing is free but we did make up for it with drinks (7) drinks at $17.00 EA easily paid for the chips and salsa. Overall outstanding dining experience just needed a little more room.... Bravissimo Red O! We will be back for more..... Bon Appetitto

For dinner on a weeknight we found this spot wasn't too busy but we also came after happy hour. It was a relaxed vibe. Service was overall pretty good. I felt like all of the gals working were very very sweet and nice. Also, anytime we stopped them to ask for refills and such we got what we asked for. That's my only upgrade as since it wasn't super busy, it would have been nice for the staff to catch the refills on water or salsa on their own/more proactively but hey, it was again a relaxed lowkey night and the staff couldn't have been lovelier. I'm just curious how the service would be if they were super busy? Now on to the food and drinks. The menu was very impressive! Solid cocktail and drinks menu. I'm bummed I didn't get a cocktail but my party doesn't drink so it was more fun to get an agua Fresca with them. The guava one was good and served nicely chilled. However, next time I'll definitely get a cocktail because their drinks looked fun and beautiful. The food was definitely the standout for me. I ordered the cheese enchiladas Suizas and they were a 10/10. Not comparable to most enchiladas I've had but the sauce was fantastic and unique. I really loved these enchiladas and I'd honestly get them again. Solid flavor in the rice and beans as well. My friends also enjoyed their meal and it seemed like everyone was happy. The pricing is a little steep for Mexican food but also the ambiance and presentation make sense to me why it'd be a little more. For the three of us the bill was over $100. And that's for three mains and three non-alcoholic drinks. Normally at $33-ish a person I'd hope for at least a beer with my enchiladas, so keep that in mind. As a special occasion place or a spot to celebrate this spot is truly fantastic. I honestly loved my meal so much that even with the price point I'd rush back and bring more friends because this spot is vibey.
