First time at this wonderful restaurant left a big impression. My friend treated me to a delicious birthday breakfast. Service was prompt, the food beautifully presented in a warm welcoming ambiance. Although we chose inside, outside dining is also available. I had an egg white omelet with potatoes and immediately devoured it, before taking a pic...,guess I'll just have to return before my next birthday!! Ample parking in the lot out front.

Owners, management, and staff were incredibly friendly. Service was perfect. We had three people checking on us throughout our meal. Atmosphere is open, checkered tablecloths, and comfortable seating (and lots of it). Food? Amazing! Chicken Fried Steak, pancakes, waffles, and Omelettes: all great. We will be back. Thank you for such an enjoyable experience.

The food was good and very reasonably priced. Classic diner feel. Good service and quick. Will be back again to try something different. We got pancakes, egg, bacon and a Denver omelette with has browns.

Solid classic diner food in a comfy, family-friendly space. Our servers were incredibly attentive and kept our cups full. I recommend The Galloping Hen if you're looking for a comforting American breakfast/brunch spot serving generous portions in the Conejo Valley!

Probably the best breakfast place in all of the Conejo Valley. Family affordable. Clean and cheerful. Impeccable service, my coffee cup was never empty. A Lovely dog friendly patio. I had a chili Verde tomitillo omelet. SOOOOO good! cubed potatoes cooked to perfection, choice of toast, biscuit or muffin. The next table had steak and eggs and strawberry waffles Tempting, but I was so full! Can't wait for a return visit. The only thing missing was a mimosa. They need to think about a beer and wine license. HA!

The best chilaquiles and eggs Benedict I've ever had, no joke!! The food was absolutely incredible and so fairly price. These portions are insane, so next time I might split a plate because we couldn't finish! Super cute place and the staff was so friendly. Will definitely be back.

This is a great breakfast place to visit and enjoy! Not only is the food amazing but the service was prompt! We were greeted with a smile and all our questions were answered. The ambiance was casual and quiet unlike most breakfast places, it was a nice change! Right away, our server came to the table and greeted us. He gave us a few minutes to decode what we wanted and came back to take our order. He made great suggestions and listened to our ridiculous demands. Shortly after ordering, our food came out and was ready. The coffee was not very hot but the rest was great! For the price, I would return here. Everything was lovely and the food was delicious!

    Cute!

The service was friendly and helpful. The breakfast food was fresh, tasty, and looked appetizing. The restaurant itself was clean and not too over the top on cuteness. Simple looking with music playing not too loud that we could still hear our conversations. We were just passing through and decided to go to a local restaurant instead of McDonalds. So glad we did!

We wanted to try a new breakfast place so I found this one on yelp. It was easy to find and when we got there, it wasn't very crowded. But when we left around 10, it was extremely crowded. You can sit outside during the summer, but everybody was inside eating. The decor is non-descriptive, but it was clean and comfortable. Everybody was very friendly and our server was Angel. We didn't want leftovers so we picked some items we thought would work. Ha ha we ended up having leftovers. My husband had the ham and cheese sandwich with a side of fruit. He said it was very good. I wanted a waffle with fruit and bacon and that's what I got. Everything was good including the coffee. Also, the prices were very reasonable. A lot of the breakfast places now cost almost as much as going out to an inexpensive dinner. We will definitely be back.

This is a cute establishment. Friendly service. We enjoyed our meal. I liked that adults could order of the children's menu. Super good. The only thing that fell short was the coffee. It was not good at all.

    Hawaiian Omelette
    Emmanuel R.

Was on the search for a simple breakfast as I was craving an omelette. I decided to experiment by getting the Hawaiian omelette. It was good, I think after I would've preferred a different omelette since the pineapple sounded tastier in my head. My mom the eggs florentine eggs Benedict. She really enjoyed it, especially the artichoke hearts. The place is a simple breakfast spot, a good one to say.

Delicious, fresh food, large portions, very reasonably priced, and friendly/attentive staff... what more could you ask for? Oh yeah, it was very easy to get a seat for brunch/breakfast on a Sunday !! I'm guessing it's not that well known as of yet, and while I hope they get a strong following of diners, I also don't want to compete for seating, either. I hate waiting, lol. My husband ordered the "American" breakfast, which came with 2 eggs (that he requested be scrambled), bacon, choice of potatoes and bread. He ordered hash browns and wheat toast for that. I ordered the #2 omelette, which had fresh spinach, mushrooms and cheddar cheese. It came with a choice of potato and bread, as well, for which I chose the "hen" potatoes and an English muffin. The hen potatoes are sauteed chunky pieces of potato, some seasonings and onion, whereas the hash browns are shredded and without the onion or addit. seasonings. I also requested a side of avocado and some salsa to go on my omelette. The breakfast I had was quite hearty, very fresh and tasty... and it filled me up for sure !! While they have a decent size breakfast menu with other items I'm interested in trying, I'm also curious how their lunch time fare is, so maybe when we return next time, I'll check that out ! My husband and I both thoroughly enjoyed our meals, and when we add in the fact that it was very reasonably priced, we'll put this place on frequent rotation!!

This place was very comforting. I had the Country Omelette with hasbrowns and sourdough toast. Service was great. All the servers help each other. Prices were reasonable for a good amount of food. Highly recommended. I will be going back.

There was a generous amount of fresh, sweet fruit and a light dusting of confectioner's sugar. Delicious! Ample accessible parking near the entrance, and while not a large restaurant, it's well laid out and easy to navigate with a wheelchair. The service was prompt and friendly. Some of the menu items -- like soufflé pancakes and Dutch babies -- take a little more time to prepare, but good food is well worth the wait. I can't remember exactly which nights they serve dinner, but it's well worth planning a visit. My partner and I ordered several dishes to share, and every single one was a hit. Paired with a glass of wine, a cocktail, and the complimentary house-made salt and vinegar chips, it would make for a perfect happy hour on its own. The roasted carrots were outstanding, and even the kale salad felt special and thoughtfully composed. I was hoping to add this place to my rotation of local breakfast hangout spots that I patronize. In the dining room, they were streaming some pulsating hyperpop music laden with heavy explicit lyrics. Totally inappropriate. Not the type of vibe I'm looking for at 7:30 in the morning. Ordered the sausage breakfast burrito. The burrito was heavy on the breakfast potatoes, it took up more than half of the burrito. Unfortunately, the potatoes were all undercooked which made them CRUNCHY and unbearably BLAND. The amount of thin breakfast sausage slices inside was small relative to the entirety of the burrito. The scrambled eggs with cheese inside were very good! It came with a small cup of salsa which was excellent, unfortunately the cup was only half filled. It was not nearly enough as the burrito was so bland because of the large amount of undercooked potatoes. I could have easily used two or three cups of salsa to give it taste. I always knew this place existed and passed it many times on TO Boulevard and I'm so glad I finally…read moremade the effort. I found the atmosphere to be so inviting, warm and modern with plenty of seating and a really nice outside patio. I would also mention that's it's so nice not to lumped in the middle of a strip mall like, ' Longevity in TO & Ragamuffin in Newbury Park' . I love the design of the interior! I have been to a ton of coffee locations in the area, ( Westlake, TO, Newbury Park, Oxnard, Ventura , Santa Barbara, Malibu) and this Cafe Ficelle location is up there with the best of them. Yes the parking is not perfect- but....the service I found on my, 'so far 5 visits' has been excellent and my ' cappuccinos' have been perfectly made and tasted superb. I also had a Tri Tip sandwich which I also found to be really tasty. I am a fan and would encourage you to give it a shot and look past the 3.7 stars on Yelp- I hope this location makes it as the Pizza place that was next to it didn't.

Today I had lunch at Cafe Ficelle with my parents. We shared two French dip sandwiches, a chocolate…read morecroissant and an almond croissant. The sandwiches were outstanding. Crusty, toasted baguette, tender tri-tip, and perfectly melted Gruyere. The dipping sauce was rich and flavorful, a perfect complement. Each sandwich also came with a fresh side salad of arugula and goat cheese. The croissants were very good. We arrived close to closing, so the pastries may not have been at peak freshness. I would recommend enjoying them earlier in the day, ideally with coffee or tea. Since we were sharing, our server sliced each croissant in three pieces. Thank you! The cafe itself is charming, with warm dark wood, cozy seating, and a fireplace that adds to the ambiance. Indoor temperature was a bit cool during our visit, but still a pleasant environment, and there is outdoor seating as well. The staff was friendly and service was quick. One small note: it would help if the staff had a better grasp of the menu and felt more confident describing it. The food speaks for itself and is worth highlighting. Parking was close and easy, and I especially enjoyed the light jazz playing in the background, including standards sung beautifully by Ella Fitzgerald. P.S. I always forget to snap photos. The sandwich was Insta-worthy.

There's no single "number one" breakfast food, as it varies from people, places, and regions…read more I judge a place on the Potatoes!!. breakfast, lunch, and dinner, one thing they ALL have in common!!!!!!!!!!! This is a great place for everything. Here I had the (freshly made) in-house corned beef, poached eggs, potato coins, and cinnamon roll. I put the corned beef on the coin and egg on top. Made it even better, next time I will ask for a side of Hollandaise sauce to top it off with. And they are fast with getting out orders. The cinnamon roll made it home with me as my eyes and stomach didn't talk to each other. Give them a shot its worth it at all of the locations. Thanks for all the great food you put out!!!!

Well after taking five seconds to consider what things are I realized the other food might be things and that food is good. I like the eggs n things name either way. The omelettes and breakfast burrito are nice. My sibling LOVES the Swedish pancakes. The free ones are especially good to me. The service is great the servers all seem pretty friendly. The ambiance too I like the chicken decorations and the mural on the wall. Food is amazing I took a friend who "hates" eggs here once and now she likes eggs but to be honest she eventually admitted she only hates hard boiled eggs. Also great place to eat with family my dad has gotten the 2 eggs 2 bacon potatoes meal for several years and still enjoys it every time. Yay eggs n things
