Have always appreciated FM for the variety of items offered. That's been dialed back a bit it recent years, but still my go-to for many needs. The produce section has most everything you need, even to many ethnic-specific items. Just yesterday found some nice fennel bulbs I couldn't find at Safeway or Asian markets. Meat and Seafood departments typically well-stocked, and frequently offer good deals--Just picked up a 2-lb. bag of colossal shrimp for $14! Bakery offers a wide variety of rolls and breads, but I frequently find that stock is low or nonexistent. Specialty cheese section as good as Whole Foods at lower cost. Nice Asian deli area provides ready to eat sushi and noodles,; pizza and sandwich counters look good too, but I've never tried them. A few comments: I frequently find items don't ring up at advertised or posted prices, but are cheerfully rectified at Customer Service. Customer Service is often slow and understaffed for the range of services they provide. Garden area has been dialed back a bit (when in season) from what it was before the remodel; I'd like to see more stock and variety, but I guess I just got spoiled. They used to carry a large variety of Proven Winner plants at good prices, especially several Supertunia and Superbell varieties. Also many more veggie start varieties were offered in years past. All in all a good source for your varied needs, with room for improvement. read more

Despite it being a Monday afternoon, I have somehow had to wait in line for the better part of half an hour. The line stretched into an adjacent aisle. Even the self checkout lines are super long! This store is extremely understaffed and desperately needs more employees. It's better than Walmart, by a wide margin, but this level of wait is unacceptable. When I was in the electronics department, I needed to get canned air. There was only one person serving the whole department and he was super overworked. Kroger, you need to step up your hiring game, big time! Pay your employees more and give them better working conditions, pronto! read more

Not enough staff is why I'm assuming my visits have been consistently bad. Long lines at self checkout with no checkers on any of their 10 stands at peak grocery shopping hours. One visit I had the self checkout oversee'r bitch at me about how the self checkout was never "self checkout" and had an overall bad attitude- which yes as a worker who's obviously over worked I'd probably be grumpy too but it doesn't help your grumpy guest (me- who has waited in line for 15 minutes to check out at this point) to grumble when I need help with an id check at self checkout because the were no lanes open. Pay better or manage better and keep your employees. By far the worst run Freddie's I've been to, which sucks because it is the closest grocery store to me. I now drive out of my way to go to Safeway so I don't have to deal with this Fred meyer. It's faster to drive further and not deal with the bad lines, slow help, and pissy workers. The employees at the small Starbucks shop inside were nice each time I've stopped there for a quick drink. Have those employees come help the checkout stands! Lastly- I struggled to find any 2T-3T sized boys clothing when I've checked. Seems they have selection of bigger boys (4T+) and baby clothes (12-24mo and under) for boys but a way bigger selection of girls clothing. read more

This is a review for the florist section of Fred Meyer. I stopped by while visiting Bellevue for a wedding. We needed a last minute bouquet and Val from the florist department was more than welcoming and helpful! She saw me looking at the flowers and immediately asked how she could help. Whatever shortcomings this store may have- Arlene makes up for it. I don't care if she takes longer, I don't care if there's a long line, My daughter and I will go to her line every chance we get. Arlene is a gem- a light shining- a last of a dying breed- where the service, conversation, care and love is part of the experience. It isn't just a job to Arlene- she makes it an experience. She makes you feel like you matter- and I hope she knows what a joy she is. Today made me think of this as my 3 year old and I eagerly waited to get to the front of her line... behind us as Arlene and I chatted as she scanned and bagged- there were two ladies behind us that looked annoyed that the job was mayyyybe taking 2 extra minutes...they looked irritated and glared. Arlene even tried to break the ice with them and yet still they were Maybe I was raised by small business owners (it's true) or maybe because I'm from a small town (also true)... maybe it's because most people don't care anymore- Arlene, Arlene cares. Since its renovation, this has been a great grocer to go to for the area. I've gone to this Fred Meyer before its makeover, and have to say, the difference is like night and day. Before, it was your average Fred Meyer, which always seemed crowded, a little dirty and the lines to check out always seemed slow. Yet, this new one is so much more spacious, open and clean. If this was closer to my residence, I could easily see this as my go-to grocer! How to begin? Well, there's an actual freaking BAR in the grocer now with local drafts on tap! And people actually go there for dranks. Dig it! The deli and prepared foods section is unbelievably better. There's a salad bar, a rotisserie, cheese counter, etc... The natural food section is AWESOME. There are a ton of natural food and organic products I love and am relieved that this Fred Meyer has a solid selection of these kind of items, including peanut butter that you freshly grind yourself! If you don't need groceries, there's the standard departments here that you'll find at other FM locations; however, the layout of this store doesn't at all make you feel cramped. Even if this place is busy - you have so much space to roam around, especially on the opposite side of the store to the groceries. Overall, this is one of the best Fred Meyers I've visited and am glad its not too far from where I am. read more

I went with my mom to Fred Meyer yesterday to get a couple grocery items that we needed at the house it is not our regular store first off it was so crowded people there were so disrespectful not wearing masks which made my elderly mother very uncomfortable we grabbed some graham crackers and headed back to the dairy section to go get some milk when we opened the door to get some milk the smell was horrendous! It smelled of rotten Dairy it was so disgusting we put our dairy products back and decided to not buy dairy products from this establishment IDK I see their commercials about how everything is fresher than fresh it is such a lie that smell who was so repulsive I don't ever want to return to the store ever again read more

So this Fred Meyer is modern & huge! I still don't know my way around the aisles yet even after 9 months of shopping here. The Starbucks inside is pretty Hipster with nice wooden tones and plenty of inside seating available. Their fresh fruit and vegetables are always really nice and they have great weekly deals. My father in law mainly utilized the inside bar where they had $4 pints during happy hour 4pm to 7pm every day. I never have to wait long in line as they have so many self check out stands which I use every time. I love the deli with their fresh sandwiches and salads, along with the sushi bar. The fresh bakery bread is also excellent at $2.50 a loaf. Fred Meyer also has an amazing nuts, muesli, dried fruits and oats area, conveniently next to the bar. I'm really happy that this Fred Meyer is our local grocery store and only a 15 minute walk from our house. read more

Been coming here for a few years and they recently went under huge renovation. Since then the shopping experience has improved greatly now that it's larger and more organized. It's my go-to for everything since it's a one-stop shop! There's also a Starbucks inside that is convenient to grab a coffee while running my morning errands and grocery run. In addition to the renovations they added in a bar and cheese department. It was a cool idea but honestly I would rather go to an actual bar, than to hang out in the middle of a grocery store. I come here all the time to pick up my prescriptions from the pharmacy, which is not long of a wait. They also have added in more checkouts now, which helps with the long lines that are fairly quick now. In addition to that they have two express and a section of self check outs to help you get in and out of the store faster than before. Pro-tip: if you come here often I would get the Fred Myers app for your phone for merchandise coupons that they don't provide in the store and you can stack them with the in-store sales! read more

Great store, wonderful stocking. They always have everything, unlike other stores. We stop many times on the way to work in the early mornings. Since they switched to only five self check-out registers, there seems to be more waiting time in line--kind of defeats the purpose of a quick in & out. We wondered why they cannot use the six self registers. There would be less of a line. Also, we don't know why we are unable to turn off the loud, obnoxious register robots during check-out at any Fred Meyers now, but it is beyond annoying. read more

When I want to shop groceries in bulk I hop to Fred Meyers, Bellevue. It's one stop for all the house needs may it be from veggies to home furniture. The store is quite huge so even if it's crowded you will not find it congested. You can spend lots of time with great patience doing grocery shopping here. The best part is they have few Indian lentils and are of pretty good quality and fairly priced. Few things which are my all time buy from Fred Meyers which I haven't seen in any other grocery store are their vegetable chips which are of premium quality, their Mochi creams which comes in variety of flavors. This is the worst Fred Meyers I've ever been to. They don't honor coupons that are clearly marked in front of items, the customer service is horrific and the managers are not qualified to be a manager. I've worked in customer service over 15 years and the level of service you get is well below the standard of what a store should be like. When I asked why they would not honor something they're advertising, the manager told me that they expect customers to read the fine print which is barely legible on the coupon. Offering no apologies or discounts. I would have been fine paying the full price of the item had the manager or the cashier handled the situation better but because of this customer service I did not want to give the store my business. I came by here today because I had to kill some time before an appointment and it was the closest place to hang out at. The first thing I noticed was the lighting in the store. It was just off to me. The store seemed to not have proper lighting and seemed kinda dim. Some of the floors were dirty like they didn't bother to have someone sweep and mop parts of the store? That's just weird! This review is for the Fred Meyer store on 148th avenue. We do not have Fred Meyer in San Francisco, so out of curiosity, I ventured into this store, mostly also because of the " Grand Opening " sign. Apparently they just opened ( or reopened after intensive remodeling ) on Wednesday march 29th, and I went there on Friday. Found a parking spot right away. Walked toward the store and saw lots of beautiful pots of flowers outside. Nice!! Upon entering the store, I was sincerely shocked by the mere size of it. It is huge!! There were managers and corporate people all over the store. Apparently this store is the first of the stores they plan to have. At 30 millions renovation costs, they want to offer everything under one roof. One cannot walk 5 steps and somebody would greet you and offer to help. I know this won't last after a while, but it is really nice to have everybody say hi and hello. Hope they keep doing that!!! There is a section for sushi, then pizzas and sandwiches. Then the bakery, they make and bake the breads on premises. The baguettes are pretty good. They cut baguettes and ciabatta for sampling with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. The bakery offers a wide selection of cakes, beautifully decorated cupcakes, donuts.... They were having a promotion in every department for the grand opening. Meats and seafood all have a 20 percent off signs. Samples offered everywhere.. pizzas, sandwiches.. even the meat department has a " grilling station ". No, they are not grilling the steaks after purchase! They are grilling for samples. Aged rib eye steaks.. yum!! There is a huge halibut, wild, in display in the middle. On " special " too of course for the grand opening.. I saw they have the huge 4-6 size prawns! ... a huge cheese station.. imported, local, on sale.. the signs are color coded for convenience. Then there is a station where one can buy entrees and side dishes, they are frozen, just need to be reheated in the skillet, and the meal is ready. There are rows and rows of yogurts, butters, juices.. then come the clothing section, the shoes section... the housewares, the furniture, the toys.. tvs.. gosh, this store has almost everything!!! In the front, there is a Fred Meyer jewelry store. And of course, a Starbucks. We are in the Pacific Northwest, so of course, it has to have a Starbucks. Did I mention the huge wine section? Not Total Wine and More caliber, but if I need to have wine with dinner, the option is there. There is a play area where parents can drop off the children when they shop. The produce section has something interesting. There is a bin where the mushrooms are grown. There are also morel mushrooms and chanterelle mushrooms, 40 dollars a pound. Wow!! So I don't know if I would be shopping here when in the area. I like the quality of meats offered at Uwajimaya, but knowing where I can get morel and chanterelles and the huge scampi prawns might bring me to Fred Meyer. read more

I came in looking for a candy that's called Aplets & Cotlets. It's made locally. I thought I could find it here like both Amazon and other yelp reviews suggested and mentioned. Nope. No luck. When I asked the first store associate I came across, they never bothered to make eye contact with me. (Aisle 16) They only continued to work and tell me that they were listening. They said that if the store had it, it might be something I could find in one of the seasonal areas. No luck. The second associate I came across looked it up on her mobile device. Nope. At least the second associate took the time to look at me even. Sheesh. My hubby purchased two items. The clerk at the self checkout area was literally sitting on the bagging area of one of the open check out kiosks. She didn't notice we were in line to check out. This review is for my first time visit with this specific branch on Friday, August 17th. By the size of the parking lot I was extremely hoodwinked of how huge the inside actually is! First off, I'll list a very positive experience with Johnathan Bishop (sorry if that is incorrect spelling) in checkout. He was openly flagging down people to see if they were ready to which I found efficient not just of our time but his. He spotted us and we got in line right away. He answered my question on if they had a gas station here and where our rewards could be used for gas. He helped my brother save $10.00 because he is knowledgeable of his coupons for products. Which was especially useful as my brother had to re-refurbish his apartment on a budget! He also placed all of our items very carefully into our basket and at a thoughtful pace which balanced efficiency and personalism; like I had just made a nice friend. Now for what I think this Fred Meyer can work on... It was lunch time you would expect more workers to be in deli or pharmacy especially on a Friday! Those were the two areas I noticed needed help the most, but honestly besides one worker in floral and 4 cashiers on registers I was not sure who worked there. Finally, it was just discerning to be constantly getting lost. I needed a map especially if there is not enough helping hands around. read more

DELI REVIEW ONLY: Strike one: The lady taking our order for 2 pizzas was overwhelmed with the idea of having that task.... Strike two: When we returned an hour later (wait for pizza was 30 min) we noticed our 2nd pizza sitting on counter...uncooked with just the sauce on it... "we got busy" Strike three: When we went to pay for our 1 pizza that was cooked..we opened to check toppings and one side was RAW!!!!! Please staff your Deli with employees who can multitask, are customer service orientated and staff with it with the amount needed to cover the counter on a busy evening when many families are looking to pick up quick dinner ideas. The renovation brought out some great ideas, wonderful food but the staff was so dismissive, inattentive and overwhelmed it doesn't make our trip there worthwhile! I am disappointed as we shop regularly at both Freddies and QFC. We want to return and give it another try but are so apprehensive now. read more

Everytime I step in here I feel like I am in the twilight zone. This place gives off such an odd vibe! It strives to be a department store and a grocery store at the same time. Very strange. The bread section here was not that great. The selection was limited although the prices are cheaper here than at my local QFC. The Starbucks was thrown out in the corner next to the bakery. To be honest I almost missed it since it was so out of the way. The clothes here look very cheap (think Walmart quality) yet I still see a lot of items going for like $15+. You wanna see something really messed up? Check out the picture. That's right cheddar bacon corn! This place was a total dump until they finished a major remodel, but now they have the good stuff like cheddar bacon corn and $5 organic milk. I stopped by on my way home from work today to collect some who haw (it's technical) for my son's third birthday celebration on Saturday and I was actually pleasantly surprised to see what a nice job they did. They also expanded selection considerably and the produce looked tolerable. I didn't check on the fish... I'll leave that to Lydia. Also, my store was nearly free of young couples arguing over bananas , old ladies with coupons, and crazy Texans yelling: "Fuck garlic! Who needs it!" Not surprisingly, I had my 10 items or less and I assumed my coma-like trance while standing in this long ass line. I could have gone to self-check, but come on... this is BELLEVUE. Manual labor is right out. Much to my amazement, a clerk came over to me and pointed out the express lane had just opened. The customer service desk has always been horrendous - expect it to be. But the floor staff is generally friendly. THE apparently NEW HIRES feel that sticking to their mobiles is more important than allowing me to get to me milk. This is BECAUSE they park there carts too CLOSE to the shelves and text friends forever. I want to decide what milk I want. The person involved was a young white guy who worked in the ORGANIC dairy department (in case the store's PR even cares), who thought FM was his mother's corner store. This is unacceptable. Retrain them. And, BTW, when you stand around waiting to defend that rude staff, it is not a theater, or else pay me 5 bucks each. SUPPORT your fellow customer because that WILL happen to YOU. read more

This store is either right on point or way off, depending on the day. Their cashiers are either super friendly and efficient or just horrific. We encountered the worst ever, at any store, yesterday with a girl named Peace. She was excruciatingly slow and was more interested in the conversation her manager was having with someone nearby. I swear she was drugged or something she was that slow. It was so painful I advised other customers to find another line but there was only one other open at the far end. If I encounter her again I will just leave my cart and come back another day. read more

Fred Meyers gets 5 stars from me!! I just wanted to thank the Bellevue Fred Meyer bakery staff for their help with my cake. I got tears out of the birthday girl and it made everyone's night. No one else locally would take my request electronically. I was unable to drop off the photo to be printed onto the cake in person anywhere and needed to email it. My sister recommended Fred Meyer so I called. The team ran with my request and made it happen. The cake looked so good we didn't even want to cut it, but when we did, it was delicious! I had such high hopes for this place when they redid it recently, but what a let down. I like the little "health food" section they have. That's about the only good thing about this store. In comparison to every other Fred Meyer it is lacking. Not the same experience. All the premade deli food looks unappealing and unhealthy. It's hard to find someone to actually help find things. And the bathrooms are absolutely disgusting. Not sure what it is about this neighborhood/location but the woman bathroom makes me gag every time.
