This place is so much more than just a pizzeria - it's pure heart and soul. My grandma and I used to come here for our special lunch dates, and the fact that the owner still remembers us says everything you need to know about this family-run gem. Franks has hands down the best pizza in Essex County, but honestly, that's just the beginning. Everything on the menu is made with love and care that you can actually taste. The recipes, the atmosphere, the genuine warmth - it all comes together to create something truly special. This isn't just a restaurant for me, it's home. It's where some of my most precious memories with my grandma were made, and walking in here brings all of that flooding back. Don't believe me? Head there yourself and try any dish - literally anything on the menu. You'll taste the difference that comes from a place that's been serving the community with pride for years. Some restaurants feed you, but Franks feeds your soul. This is what authentic, neighborhood dining is all about. read more

Been a regular (delivery) customer for a few years and as of lately I've been a little unpleased. Seems like the toppings are getting a bit skimpier than in the past. Also the last pie I ordered was so well done that I couldn't eat the crust! Not sure what's going on but I .your pizza and only order from you BUT please take note read more

Best pizza I've tried for the area yet! The white pizza is so delicious and cheesy! The buffalo chicken is also tasty however I think should have a bit more buffalo sauce and blue cheese but could just be a preference. Service was good the guy took our order not much interaction. Ambiance is somewhere you can stop by for a quick lunch date or bite. read more

My parents love the entrees here and wanted me to give this place 4 stars, but the owner remains a d!ck, so he's getting 3. I don't think this place is fantastic, but they seem to love their chicken Alfredo and shrimp or eggplant parmigiana dishes. I've tried both and their pizza and it's just okay to me. Pizza is definitely not my fave. However I do enjoy their salad with blue cheese and the Alfredo. Owner is just rude and has no problem showing his aggression in front of his customers. read more

I love Frank's pizzeria as it reminds me of my ol'e neighborhood of Knickerbocker Avenue in Brooklyn, NY. I only buy pizza and a can of soda because I cook several of his dishes. My one complaint is that sometimes I get a slice that has been sitting for a while. Today was one of the days that I got a last pepperoni slice that was sitting with other various last slices. I know it is better not to accept that slice, but I did. I paid for that slice as it caused an upset stomach. I understand each slice is money, but sometimes you need to dump it if he sits for hours. I am staying away for a few weeks. Maybe I can find a new spot! read more

Worst pizza I've had in YEARS. Crust was way undercooked and so doughy it almost overpowered the sauce and the cheese. Places like this make me miss Brooklyn soooooooo much. There are like 20 other places in a mile radius of this one please choose one of those instead read more

Average pizza spot. Nice variety of to-go slices such as chicken bacon ranch, margherita, veggie, plain, pepperoni, sicilian, etc. I got the Margherita slice $4 which was nice, thin, and crispy, just how I like my slices. I prefer the pizza over at Pizzanada which is about a 5 min drive away. All in all, I'd come here for a quick slice if I'm stopping at the supermarket, liquor store, or walgreens that's in the same plaza. If I have the time I'd drive over to Pizzanda for more flavor and better prices. read more

Ordered two plain slices and two empanadas. Receipt said $17 with no details, there were no prices anywhere so I found a menu and it said slices were 3.50, I asked how much the empanadas were. 4 freakin 50 for cold empanadas. I said '$4.50!?' Out loud and the guy said I should've asked how much they are first. Maybe put prices up for your reheated terrible food. And maybe stop watching soccer and kill some of those flies bothering people. I'd take a picture of the nasty cold beef but I threw my second one out when the guy had tude. read more

Is this the best pizza place in NJ? No. Will it scratch that itch if you are having a pizza craving? Yes. Frank's has a wide variety of slices, some of which are not your usual fare - Buffalo Chicken, Chicken Cutlet and Bacon Ranch. They also have your standard slices. Each one that I have had has been pretty tasty. All slices are heated to order. The decor feels a bit dated but this isn't fine dining. It feels like a pizza place from the 1970s, which is what I grew up with. There is plenty of parking available in the Bloomfield Commons Parking lot. read more

I was trying to avoid traffic and came across this little gem!! I didn't have time to read reviews. The restaurant was nice and clean. Staff was funny and friendly. Glad I went in. The sizes and thickness was too much for my eyes to take in. Who needs a Sicilians with these around. Yummy goodness!! I wanted each and every one of them. I ordered the sausage and pepperoni!! It was Amazing!!! I ate every single bite, since they have a $10. Min. I ordered the breaded diced chicken, broccoli, I believe tomato slices ( I honestly can't remember) it had me hypnotized. I ate this one as a dessert after dinner. Yeah I split it with my husband. I would recommend Frank's, it is definitely worth the drive. read more

Went there with a friend!! I LOVE AUTHENTIC Pizza!! Not a fan of Domino's or Pizza Hut. I like the good stuff and here it is , I ordered a slice of brick oven pizza with extra cheese and my friend had pepperoni on her slice. It was simply delicious!! We also ordered the Zucchini sticks which are plentiful and enough for two. The Zucchini sticks with Marinara sauce really hit the spot. Very good place to enjoy great food. read more

I've been here once before and it was fine, I got back a second time to ask for a slice of pepperoni and they throw a few slices of pepperoni on a piece of cheese pizza instead of cutting me a fresh slice of pepperoni pizza that was literally about to be done cooking in the oven. I've a slice here before. Good, but nothing to write home about. Tonight, I stopped to charge my car at 8:58 on a Friday night. The Open light was lit. A surly guy told me the place was closed. When I pointed out the lights were on and the Open sign lit, he was plain nasty. I returned to my car to see the Internet time was 9:00 p.m. Draw your own conclusion. read more

What strange slices they have out. Pepperoni, yes. No cheese. Want veggies other than the overcooked slice they have on offer, even if you are willing to pay more? Out of luck. Take the broccoli with too much cheese and no sauce or the oily ground chicken I guess. They would add sausage with only an eye roll. Attitude was high, customer service, low. I got a tomato/basil/fresh mozzarella slice. Sadly was near flavorless. The tomato sauce, which was what was present on over half the slice was so bland. It tasted like it was straight from the can with not added anything. I ate because I was starving and had paid for it. My feller said the sausage slice was not bad but not enough sauce. They did put a lot of sausage on his slice at least. First and last time we will visit. Too bad since it's next to one of our favorite grocery stores. read more

Edible pizza but certainly not worth the inflated price compared to other local places. The pizza was doughy and undercooked: There was zero crunch, despite it being visually appealing. Definitely not going in the weekly pizza rotation. read more

I am only writing about the pizza. Plain pizza is great. Good, old-fashioned plain like we used to get back in the day.

I got rice ball and a slice of buffalo pizza to-go. It was great but it wasn't bad. It was probably an odd time when I went but the pizza on display to reheat looked very old. I saw an old couple go ham on a whole pie and 2 litter soda. That's a lot of carb but to each their own. The place has really old furniture and the ceiling tiles need to be replaced. I liked that they share a huge parking lot so I don't have to worry about parking for a quick bite to eat. read more

whaddaya expect Jersey? this place is literally on a main highway in Newark called Bloomfield Ave. they get so much foot traffic that they don't have to worry about high quality. they could sell shoes if they wanted to. you get in you get your pie or slices, you get out and you move on. done. there's no valet or rewards program so it is what is and serves its purpose. if you want great pizza keep heading up Blfd Ave about 15 minutes into Montclair where a so-so brick oven personal Margherita pie the size of a frisbee is $30 not including tip or parking. otherwise this is PATH train pizza so enjoy it and come back again soon. be glad you ate there. read more

Yes!!!.. some awesome pizza is made here!. I stopped in for a slice and needed to get two. Very well priced. As for pizza quality, very good sauce to cheese ratio. If you like a medium crust, This pizza is for you! Large parking lot so parking is almost never an issue. The place itself has a very nice feel to it. Would definitely come back to this place for more read more

I have been here about three times. The location is convenient. Each time I am about to walk in ai wonder why I do not come more often. Now I remember the price is good and location is great but the food is not bad but it is not good either. It's pretty much flavorless and greasy. I can bet it's just using cheap ingredients. Also it is Italian so the overly loud Spanish music is a bit of an unwanted distraction. read more

ALL I CAN SAY IS STAY AWAY.... The counter help goes right from touching your pizza to handling money and back to handling food without gloves, washing hands, sanitizer...nothing!! Frank's Pizza has the best subs! I've been so hooked of their Eggplant marinara sub that I rarely ever get anything else off the menu - ever! It's perfectly cooked, soft, warm, bubbly and melty, with delicious, tangy, bright red beautiful sauce. Best of all, its served on this fantastic bread which they toast in the oven. It's my favorite eggplant sub - trust me, many places get eggplant wrong, but Frank's is the best. Their prices are super reasonable, and the service has always been friendly, quick and caring. My boyfriend and I love going here for quick dinners when we are really hungry - we often crave the subs here. Garlic knots and salad are good here, too. My boyfriend often gets their pizza and he loves it. His favorite, however, are the rice balls which he says reminds him of the ones he had in Italy. They're huge, gooey, and come with a generous helping of sauce. Great to share! Every time we come in, its extremely crowded. Many people dine-in and get full meals! I know there are plenty of pizza joints in Bloomfield but Frank's sauce makes it a force to be reckoned. I crave this food in my sleep, sometimes. read more

I order from this place very frequently, really wish I could give this review I higher score but with the competition of pizza out there it's really tough to scale. Overall, this is my go to place for pizza night due to the convenience and prime location. There are other pizza spots with higher quality pizza, however franks never disappoints and it's always consistent with their quality and service. The staff is pleasant and so is the establishment. read more

Buyer beware. Every time I come here it is a disappointment. The place looks like it could use the money so my hunger gets the best of me. There's nothing Italian about this place. I said fresh mozzarella and got looked at like I had 3 heads. Then I order my entire 10$ sandwich with my final request asking if they could make it on garlic bread. "Nope we don't have" was what I could understand from the broken English. Shortly after I cancelled my order and settled for a low quality slice of pizza. When I found the manager who was sitting in the corner watching tv he explained how they have the best garlic bread with another employee complimenting how good it is. I said "hm the guy down there said you didn't have it" and the managers response was we don't have it for sandwiches we use it for meals. In that one sentence he told me the air bread was not only previously made aka stale;old but he also managed to say it was too difficult to melt butter add some pepper salt garlic clove/powder and slap it on 2 loaves of bread. Frankly, FRANKS it's laughable how your still business. Can anyone say "restaurant makeover"? Once a year you fool me I guess I've got another 12 months from today to let the hunger get the best of my decisions. Turn down the blasting TV in the back and hire people who specialize in customer service. Garlic bread: butter salt pepper garlic clove/powder Melt butter 30 seconds add ingredients . Done. The good news is you remind me of what bad food and poor customer service truly is. read more

The Buffalo Chicken and the Bacon Ranch Pizzas are excellent. Everything thing else I've had here (basically the cheesesteak, the parmesan sandwiches, penne vodka) has been average, at best. They always seem to make the pizza too big for the box so when you get home to open it, the crust on one half of the pizza is always folded up with the cheese and sauce sliding down which causes either the crust to break or an avalanche of cheese and sauce to slide right off the crust. Happens every time. They're located in Bloomfield and they deliver... but somehow they don't deliver to all 5.3 square miles of town. The owner isn't exactly the friendliest guy. Basically, the only thing I go here for anymore is a slice of Buffalo or Bacon Ranch... other than that, there are 100 other pizzerias in the area that taste better and give a more pleasurable experience. read more

Good pizza and plenty of seating & parking. They have an incredible high delivery fee, which makes it a place to go to and eat at the restaurant. Tasty pizza but their pasta dishes could use improvement. This is my oldest son's favorite pizza place. For pizza I recommend it. read more

For what it's worth, the pizza here is not terrible. One of my favorite pies is the tortellini pizza; I like to order it on a red pie (with sauce) instead of a white. It's a pretty good combination. The reason for my one star review is that upon trying to place this order last night whoever answered the phone flat out told me that I can't have that! I've received poor service in the past, but never before has it left me so dumbfounded! You would think a pizza place with the amazing amount of competition that is around would be a little bit more service savvy. I went to Victorio's down the road instead. No tortellini, but better pizza and service. I can't say I'll miss Frank's, where the customer is always wrong. read more

I don't know why this place only has 3 stars cuz it's a really good place to get regular pizza. I mean it can't get decent than their food. I always get the buffalo slice, it's really good or sometimes I get the pepperoni slice. My boyfriend gets the regular slice. We've also ordered garlic knots from time to time. We have no complaints. Service is great, people are nice & the prices are not bad for the size you get. read more

I ordered a slice of pizza while waiting on a prescription to be ready next door at Walgreens..... The pizza not bad, crispy crust, good quality mozzarella not greasy... while eating my pizza , I witnessed same employee who served me my pizza spit something from his mouth into his bare hand (idk meat from his teeth or bread) idk but it was small but clearly visible from mouth to hand. He then flung it to the floor... He never washed or cleaned his hands and continue to serve the next customer that came in. Another employee (Latin descent) started taking orders and while he was waiting on the pizza in the oven, he too started picking his teeth and never washed his hands... how disgusting,. Clean your hands.... read more

One star because that's the lowest possible score on here. First of all they put my husbands pizza in and not mine. Then I finally get mine and it just wasn't good. How is a plain slice of pizza not good? And don't even get me started on the rice balls... no flavor. Never going here again. read more
