DO NOT USE THEM. I want to update the community about my case against Franks Express. My previous review tells of my horrific experience with this company and the abusive owner, Firdavs E, A.K.A. Frank. They arrived extremely late, were inexperienced, dragged their feet, drank my beer, threatened me, extorted money and didn't complete the job. The owner was abusive and yelled at me when I asked for compensation I filed a complaint with The Department of Consumer Affairs and the Better Business Bureau. I did some investigating of my own and found that all addresses they had listed were fake, mostly leading to parking lots. I brought this information to The Department Of Transportation. The chief investigator got on my case and tracked them down. I took them to small claims court. Ruben Y, the manager, showed up and lied through his teeth while under oath. He said they charge $95/hr but they gave me a discount of $20. He also said that they brought in a 4th man to help me with the move. All complete and utter lies. The court ruled in my favour and I won, despite all the lies Ruben spewed. I got money back to cover for paying the other movers to complete the job. The D.O.T. informed me that Franks Express was fined for violations and got me some more money back. Customers should not incur parking fines and tolls, both of which Franks Express passes on to its customers. The company is now on file at the D.O.T. and their license will be revoked if they have any further incidents like this. Consumers, please exercise your rights and help protect us all by bringing crooks like this to the attention of the appropriate authorities. They have been getting away with illegal conduct like this for years. read more

I called number 212-235-7707, dispatcher or supervisor named Alex made reservation for me.By-the-way i checked their numbers and office address. ITS nothing. This company is SCAMMMMMMMMMMMMM. I had to move my 2 bdr appartment from Brooklyn to Manhattan.So when guys arrived they checked everything what i had to move. And Game began. First they told that my appartment worth $2000 to move. Nice start, ha? Then they gave me to sign their contract. Actually it wasnt really contract. No name, no phone numbers, no office address.so, i signed cause needed to move the same day.They packed everything for 5 hrs. they were drinking, loughing, eating, many smoking brakes.... HORRIBLE. In Manhattan they gave contract with million hidden fees, it was paper where i had to pay $1560 before unloading truck. I was angry. i counted ita was really $550 i had to pay. They called to smb. Then i gave them money. opened the door and came back. I was shoked (((((( They unloaded everything in lobby and just left.... I called to Police to make report but officers said without contract they cant do anything. Dont even try to use them...... VERY STRONGLY RECOMMEND JOHN's TEAM! I found Frank's on Craigslist, and their response to my queries was prompt, and rates significantly very low, compared to a couple of others I was getting a quote from. Being slightly suspicious of the quality I was going to get at these rates, I booked them with some degree of nervousness. What ABSOLUTELY AWESOME service! John's team were four very able-bodied men who treated each other with respect and complemented each other's strength to get the work done without unnecessary delays. I was moving from a 5th floor walk up and his men barely broke sweat. John himself was clear with passing on instructions, and had a very pleasing, reassuring manner about him. He was honest, and right from the start put me at ease. Overall, I am genuinely amazed that you can get such service at such ridiculously low rates (I would recommend tipping generously if pleased with the service, since I suspect that this forms a measurable part of their compensation, and how low the rates are!) It is to such a degree that I am impressed that I am writing a review for the very first time! I would wholeheartedly recommend these dedicated, straightforward and hard working guys with such a respectable work-ethic! And I will be looking nowhere else for any future moves! read more

My experience didn't start out well, but ended up being awesome! My move ended up being later due to the person before me having a difficult move, but the movers were awesome when they arrived and apologized for the delay. I only had planned on an hour of work (1 van, 2 movers, 1 hour of work for $100) as I was only moving 3 miles away and not bringing much. When I had pulled everything out the night before it seemed like more than I thought and was worried it would take longer. When they arrived I completed my paperwork and the last thing they had me initial was start time and they explained once I initialed they'd begin. He was not kidding. I put the pen down and they both grabbed two items each and started working! Important to note- before starting they took time to plan how they'd pack the van. There was traffic. I had already told myself I'd being paying more than planned (the cool Thing is if you go over 10 mins and pay for another hour-they can do furniture assembly so you get your money's worth!) They did the entire move in 55 minutes. They were kind, fast, friendly, and very careful with my items. They actually marked some boxes with tape so they knew which had glass and which were I'll definitely be using this company again! read more

These guys are the absolute most UNPROFESSIONAL workers I have EVER DEALT WITH. I called this man this morning. We chatted. He said he could move my couch at 1pm which was the time I requested. 1:30 still no movers. I called back and he says I will give you a discount...I said ok. I used Frank's Express for a move between apartments in Brooklyn. They were extremely easy to communicate with and made sure they had all of the details they needed well in advance. I added another stop at the last minute, to pick up a couch I purchased, and they were able to do that for only $20 additional. The quote I received was for 4 movers and was less expensive than other quotes I received. They were recommended to me by a friend who had a great experience and I agree 100%. Mike called me two or three times before the move to answer some questions I had and to make sure I was clear on all of the costs, timing, etc. They arrived right on time and got right to work. They had all of my stuff packed on the truck within 30 minutes! A few things needed to be sealed/shrink wrapped and they did everything without damaging any of my furniture or things. The move in at the new apartment was faster than I imagined. They guys were friendly and I enjoyed working with them. I would highly recommend Frank's Express. read more

These movers were great! They have a quick online questionnaire to assess how many guys/size of truck you will need based on how many rooms and how much furniture you have. They gave me an hour window when they would arrive and they called a couple of times that morning to confirm and update me on their travel status. It was a 3 man team led by Isco. They were all very professional and hard-working and kept the move flowing easily. Isco was very organized and worked quickly but carefully. He wrapped all my wooden furniture so that it wouldn't get scratched in transit. He had plenty of supplies and he made sure there was always someone outside watching my stuff. It didn't take long for them to load the truck and I was able to ride with them to my new apartment as it wasn't far. They moved everything into my new apartment very quickly without a scratch or a scuff on anything. Isco was a great leader and all three of them worked very efficiently to make my move stress-free! Last September 29th, Franks Moverss moved from Forest Hills (Queens) to a deposit near JFK Airport (Queens), where all my belongings were to be placed in a 20 feet container. The job Franks' team of five movers was excellent and the price was reasonable. John and his four assistants were punctual and friendly, very efficient and fast, with a large moving that included several big glass and fragile panels, more than 150 heavy boxes and several furnitures.They went to my apartment with two trucks, one of it full of supplies to wrap, protect and move with "white globes" my belongings, but they didn't do any additional job because all was just wrapped, protected and ready to go. My daughter needed to move from a 2nd floor walk up to a 5th floor walk up. She had 47 items (boxes, chair, bookshelf, etc.) plus her bed and a table with 6 legs. We contacted Frank's and booked it online. They quoted us a price and told us it would take them two hours, and that any overruns on time that we would have to pay for. They came on time, it took them 10 minutes to get a parking spot, but the clock did not start until the truck was parked and they were in the apartment. We logged in the start time, it took them 30 minutes to load the truck, 15 minutes to drive to the new location and one hour to unload the truck (walking everything to the 5th floor). They were done on time and they charged us exactly what they said they would. I love these guys! I would use them again. We moved on a Sunday and we gave them 4 days notice. I was desperate trying to hail someone in Manhattan to make my move, went to my cell and called several movers, no response, lost hope. Took my cell again, Googled NYC movers and could find Franks Movers, Called them up, they gave me price to my erroneous amount of stuff I was moving, they promised me to come by in one hour and everything was like they said. I was embarrassed my moving stuff was bigger than I told the company, I didn't want to cheat or lie, what happened was that I was very exhausted, they came, loaded the truck, moved a heavy chair that was my most important worrying, drove a long trip to home and charge me same amount. I was so grateful that I called them to thank them and promised them to write a review about their great service and gentle and humble staff. I will use these people again. I had Franks moving company move me twice. Once in 2014 for a 1br and then again 3 days ago in August 2015 for a studio. All moves were in midtown Manhattan. I liked them and would use them again in the figure. This time, johns team in particular did a great job- they showed up on time, they were efficient, and got me done a little over 2 hours, under the 2.5 hour quote. They took care to wrap most big items (TV, electric piano, etc) in plastic or blankets. There were a few minor scrapes on my items after the move, but they were barely noticeable. I'd recommend getting Johns team if you can. Overall I think franks moving company, as a services firm, has improved significantly over the years. Their booking system online is faster and easier. They confirm their insurance details with the building more easily, etc. read more

I hired this company to help me with a small move from Brooklyn to Queens. I found Tatiana to be thorough and professional over the phone, and she had no problem booking a date for me that was only five days from the day of my call. After the call, she emailed me a brief form through which I was easily able to provide the relevant information surrounding my move. I was told that my movers would arrive between 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM on moving day. They called my phone at 9:00 AM sharp and were outside and ready to go. The movers were good, reasonable guys who were eager to accommodate me. The price was very reasonable; my research indicates that it'd be very tough to find a company that'd do it for cheaper. I recently used Frank's movers to help me get into my new apartment. I found them online and used their yelp reviews to help me decide if they would be a good company for me. When I researched quotes with several companies they definitely offered the very best option, more movers for a lower hourly rate! The day of the move, the guys were on time. I found them to be very helpful and got things done in a timely fashion. You better be ready for them because once they get there, they're ready to rock 'n roll! They assisted me with the kids bunk bed by taking it apart and then putting it back together in the new space. They gave thought to where things should go. I just moved within Jersey City last Friday during the evening. Spoke to Frank to setup the move and he was very responsive with all my questions. On the day of the move Jehangir and his team came in early to check out the contents of the apartment. They were very courteous and were very careful with the items. I had an Ikea bed that took a while to disassemble but Jehangir was patient and worked through to get the bed moved. Even though we went over the time limit by a bit, he didn't charge us for the extra hour. Kudos to him and his team for making the move less stressful than it is normally. Definitely will use them again for future moves and highly recommend to others who are looking to move. read more

I've had to move a lot. There is no where more difficult to move then Manhattan. Alex and his team provide the best moving experience yet. They even arrived early, but called to ask if that was ok. I moved from a 3 flight walk up to a 2 flight walk up and they got all my stuff there in one piece. For a very fair price, they they even provided plastic wrap, bubble wrap and furniture pads to protect the furniture during the move. When my couch would not fit in the new location they didn't hesitate to remove the door, the sofa feet, and try everything possible to get the sofa inside. Absolutely great and quick service. I highly recommend. You will not find anyone better for the price. read more

Alex and his team did an awesome job on my recent move from the UWS to Astoria on 9/19/15!!! First, they called me on the morning of my move to tell me they were on the way. When they arrived, I walked them through my apartment and pointed out some things that needed their special attention, all of which they respected. Then they were extremely careful, diligent and thorough in packing and protecting my breakable belongings. Finally, and most importantly, when everything was done at the end of the day, there were no surprises whatsoever with the bill versus the original hourly estimate.
