First I would like to say I'm very disappointed in Franks Diner .My family and I had lunch there last August .my sandwich had a rock in it and it damaged two teeth .and no one from Franks has been willing to help. The booths were full so we choose to sit at the counter instead of waiting, but I enjoyed sitting at the counter. Our order was taken quickly and the food was delivered in a timely manner. Our daughter loved her grilled cheese. I enjoyed my chicken fried steak. The boar Benedict is something my husband will definitely get again. What put this place solidly in the five star position was the desserts. My husband loved the bread pudding and we both couldn't get enough of the peach cobbler. Returned to Frank's after 5 years and the flavors were just as good as we remembered. Arriving from the airport, the fried deviled eggs with crispy bacon were a great starter with a flavorful, creamy filling and excellent texture of the fried egg whites. We loved the breakfasts of eggs Benedict with properly poached eggs, buttery hollandaise sauce and seasoned hash browns. The great northern burger was large and juicy, with a buttery toasted bun and typical toppings that was so filling that I couldn't finish the tasty fries. We got the Joe's Special and the Creole Seafood Omelette. I enjoyed the Joe's (and I'm usually not an eggs fan) - and thought the hashbrowns were crunchy and tasty. My husband ate every bite of his omelette! The shining star, however, were the biscuits that came with it. They were excellent - especially with the homemade jam. I could get a dish of just those! The place is small - and quaint - and we had a 15 min wait on a Monday @ 11 am - if that gives you something to judge by. The staff works damn hard and that alone warrants the five stars. This place is just awesome. My wife and her family discovered it for themselves during a jaunt to the Spokane airport this past summer and it has become a staple for when family comes to visit. As its website will readily attest, the diner is set up inside of a bonafide, converted railroad car. In our most recent visit, we came during the lull between lunch and dinner crowds. Though we initially opted for immediate seating at the bar, our attentive host spied a table that would soon be vacated and helped us get everyone situated there in. Being as it's a railroad car--and a very old one, at that--seating within the actual car can be a bit cramped, the seats very rigid and vertical for one of my usual slouched, ADHD posture. Nonetheless, the menu selections are a smorgasbord of an adulterated deliciousness. Breakfast is celebrated and observed here all the live long day, but for weirdos like me who will always order the cheeseburger, even if it's 8am, they've got a whole lotta that, too. My son is very particular about his pancakes, and while they did not have a chocolate syrup option on the menu, they were kind enough to accommodate with Hershey's syrup from their dessert station. Everything was very tasty, and delivered to our table very quickly. Prices were right in line with what you would expect for a place like this, but we fed three adults and a child, with tip, for well under $100. We will be back, for sure. read more

I sat at the bar where I was greeted quickly. After I ordered, it only took 5 minutes for my order to be made! Talk about fast. I could watch the cooks make my food right in front of me. The eggs were perfectly cooked how I ordered them and the bacon was delicious. The toast wasn't your typical run of the mill bread, it was very thick and tasty. North Spokane location - service was great, food was awesome. From the host to the server to the support staff, it was a smooth and enjoyable breakfast. There were six of us adults. The server handled us like is was an easy two top. Food was delicious, seasoned well, hot and had a decent portion size. They easily accommodated a specific dietary request without blinking an eye. We needed to be in and out in a relatively short amount of time which they achieved on a pretty busy holiday morning. They have an extensive menu with selections for any mood/taste. The setting is fairly intimate, with tables close to one another, however it feels very homey and welcoming. The service was excellent, as our waitress made sure we were well taken care of during our visit, refilling drinks and asking if we needed anything throughout. The food is just as great as the service, with a menu full of amazing dishes. My personal favorite of the visit was the fried green tomatoes! You can also add onions and gravy to any dish for free. I recently visited Spokane from Seattle and this place came highly recommended. I am so glad I went here. We did not have a long wait. Our server, Gage, was very nice to us and she has been at the place almost THIRTY years. She told us her story of working there. Very sweet woman. Everyone there was so nice. The food was delicious. I had the chicken fried steak with eggs. My partner had the caesar salad. Mine was cooked just right and did not come out too cold or too hot. The caesar salad was very fresh. They have large portions as well so make sure to come with a hungry tummy! :) The place had the cutest aesthetic which you can see in the pictures. It was built out of an old rail car that used to be the president of the railways personal rail car. Frank's an overall happy, casual vibe. I highly recommend Frank's. I have heard about it and was excited to try it. When I arrived, they sat me down at the bar and gave me a cup of water. I quickly decided what I wanted to order and waited. And waited and waited and then waited more. In 15 minutes no one bothered to stop and take an order, ask any questions or even glance. There seemed to be some at the bar who were being helped and some that were not. Not quite sure why the poor service, but didn't have time to wait around. We sat there for about 15 minutes, and a gentleman came in and was immediately greeted and put on a list. Finally, we said something.
