Eggs Benny

Frankie's is not fancy BUT it is my absolute go to for comfort food. Service is friendly and the coffee is bottomless. Try their eggs benny, the curry in the hollandaise is the chef's kiss!!

Such a great spot! Casual diner vibes. Affordable prices, a few outdoor seating spots are available. Indoor seating at booths or the bar. I came here for brunch and they do it so well! Standout was the potatoes, they were super crispy! Will definitely come back if I'm in the area. Washrooms are downstairs, not sure if there is an accessible option.

Caveman omelette with Swiss cheese and home fries

I've had a few items such as the hamburger, poutine, Cobb salad but my favourite is the caveman omelette. It's ok packed with bacon, sausage and ham with cheese. Friendly service and a diner feel. I recommend

Definitely a great bang for buck place. Nothing too impressive but the portions are great. The one thing that is worth mentioning is to make sure you get something with the hashbrowns because those were done VERY well. Eggs Neptune- you can't find this price anywhere else. This was a no fuss eggs benny. Quite good and would order again #Delicious- if you love corn beef, you will die for this. I learned from eating this that I like the canned version and not the real corn beef (i know i'm weird). This came with PLENTIFUL hashbrowns too so that's a plus. Trust me and come here with 3 people and order 2 entrees. It'll be more than enough.

We stumbled upon this place a few weeks ago after we were trying to find a patio spot. We sat down since this was the only place that had seats at the time and I'm so glad we did. Service was prompt and friendly. Menu had an extensive list of pub food. I got one of the specials that day- steak and Parmesan fries ($18) and it was well portioned and seasoned well. My partner and his friend also really liked their burgers and said it was one of the best they had in a while. Everything was very generously sized and the prices were very good for what it was. They also had $7 cocktails so I had to order one, and it was pretty good as well. So glad we found this place!

I wish we didn't have the pandemic so I could go there in person, but alas. Their food is great. I my guilty pleasure is diner food, and I used to quench these cravings by going to my local Wimpy's. However, since I moved, it was a bit hard to find the right place. So when I tried Frankie's I loved it. Favourite: their eggs Benedict (especially the Neptune), Greek burger, and their Rueben. Their French toast is also pretty good. Prices are really reasonable as well and you get a good amount of food for the price. And most importantly, it's a local business!

The breakfast was pretty good. Nothing too fancy, keeping in mind that it IS a diner. It was exceptionally hot in the small restaurant, leading us to switch our seats twice. My friends enjoyed her meal thoroughly. The portion sizes were great and you got a bang for your buck. If you are looking for a quick breakfast on a busy street to start off your day, this is the place to be!

Pancakes from the big breakfast order
Lian A.

This is my new go to recommendation for breakfast/brunch spots now! The portion size is enormous for the Big Breakfast for the price. If you've ever been to Fran's restaurant, you'll notice a lot of similarities between this item and their big breakfast. You get your choice of how they cook the eggs and the type of bread you want. Plus you get two huge pancakes with a side of butter. Compared to other pancakes I've had, they're more on the sweet side. I would have loved a side of jam for the toast, but everything was great otherwise. Definitely could have shared one order among two people and still go away satisfied. Service was fast and polite, and we were seated quickly.

The restaurant is giving cozy comforts diner with abut 20 people worth of seating. Join the waitlist as soon as you can because you can wait up to 2 hours for a table on a Sunday morning. After we got seated and our waiter came over and he wasn't giving the most welcoming energy, he seemed a little stand off ish which was weird but we assumed that's just how he was lol. Other than that that the service was good. We started with the biscuits. You have an option to have it with gravy or jam. We got jam and it came with a clotted cream like spread and a cinnamon apple tasting jam. The biscuits were nice and fluffy. We got an ice coffee too and it was really good. I always come for the party melt. It comes with their house salad and a scoop of their sweet potato salad. The whole plate was fantastic. We also for their turkey dinner and this was so delicious but we were so full we only had a couple bites and took the rest home. It was just as delicious as reheated leftovers.

They were soft, lightly crisp around the edges, and not overly sweet, which I liked. The rest of the food tasted fresh and well prepared, and the portions were satisfying without feeling too heavy. Service was friendly and relaxed, though it did get a little busy and the pacing slowed down for a bit. It was not a major problem, but it is something I noticed. Overall, White Lily Diner is a solid spot for a comfortable brunch in Toronto. I would come back, especially if I wanted something simple, well made, and not too formal.

With its red exterior, snug booth seating, and counter stools worn smooth by years of faithful custom, it wears its authenticity without affectation. The Irish breakfast is the undisputed centrepiece: a generous, unapologetically hearty spread that arrives with the sort of abundance one associates with a proper Irish kitchen. Portions are substantial and satisfying, calibrated for appetite rather than aesthetics -- and all the better for it. The menu is unpretentious, and the cooking honest. What distinguishes The George Street Diner most, however, is the quality of its hospitality. The service is warm and unhurried, characterised by a genuine attentiveness that is increasingly rare. One leaves not merely fed, but looked after -- and that distinction matters. It is the sort of neighbourhood gem one recommends without hesitation, and whose reputation travels well. I have done so on multiple occasions, and the response has been unfailingly positive. A treasured find for weekend brunch in Toronto.

The eggs were great but I couldn't eat the rest. I don't want fries for breakfast. The beans were straight out of a can, a tiny piece if mushy tomato, extremely dry soda bread, and the worse tasting mushrooms I've ever had. Husband had the same but with too salty sausage. He couldn't eat it. We both basically ate the egg with a piece of the soda bread. Service was great. Coffee cup never empty. But omg, SO pricey for a diner. Won't be back.

Sadly there was no chair for her to sit down on yet it didn't stop her from going to her regular spot for a Sunday brunch. She told me that she has been coming here for many years, even before it was called Sammy's. Has it been 30 years, she asked herself? Either way, she made it known that she is quite the regular. Very nice and friendly lady. These are the types of regulars that make the diner what it is. There is a sign in clipboard at the front, as soon as you walk in. You have to sign in as part of contact tracing in case there is an outbreak of COVID linked back to this establishment. Make sure you do not block the pathway from behind the bar, I didn't block it but a large family with several kids needed a place to stand in line and wait for a big table, because servers will get very mad at you and tell you "I NEED TO GET BY! DON'T BLOCK THE WAY!" But there is no where to stand when the lineup is 20 people deep. This is something to think about once the weather gets colder and there is a long lineup out the door. Perhaps takeout would be a better option than to be yelled at by the short haired waitress with tattoos? While I did not mind waiting and I had a book to occupy my time in the lineup and at the table before I was given the menu, I could see that this was obviously a rush time, prime time lunchtime at the diner, maybe others might be a little more impatient than me? I could watch a snail crawl for hours, patience is a virtue. The wait is very long to get seated and even longer to get food. While the food was pretty good, and the other server was very friendly, attentive and nice, I think they were short staffed that day and nothing is ever as instant as fast food. My advice would be to go here when you have the time to wait. Don't come here if you are in a rush. It's better to only come here when you have lots of time to wait.
