LOL We had the big skillet both days as well as the breakfast sandwich. While there were some variances, we enjoyed both experiences. The first visit was better in my opinion - the potatoes were tender and not overcooked and my fruit cup didn't have a lot of cantaloupe. I have shared pictures of the menu as well. We had sparkling water and diet cola both times. Our beverages never ran dry. There is an upstairs that overlooks the first floor dining area. We wondered if anyone had ever spilled a beverage that landed on guests below. We could definitely see the possibility of that happening. They also had a nice patio, however, on the hotter days, not sure how enjoyable the city smell would be while trying to eat. Interesting - they only had one bathroom. So we observed a line. And there are tables right next to the door. I would avoid those seats if possible. A little too close to the restroom in my opinion. If we are in the area again, we would definitely eat here again, although they may be at the new location if we visit in the future. I look forward to seeing the upgraded features at the new location.

I came in the other day with my girlfriend. We wanted to stop in for a quick bite to eat. The girlfriend decided to have a breakfast. She had the pulled pork benny and loved every bite of it. She usually gives me a piece to taste and it was almost like taking food from a dog. I decided that i needed something bigger i was famished. I got the hogtown and let me tell you it didn't dissapoint. I was stuffed big time. It was amazing. I didnt expect the burger to be that good. The service was great as well. Frankie's is the unbelievably good! My girls took me to The Lower Ossington Theatre to see "Anne of Green Gables" and we arrived early and asked a random guy smoking outside the theatre where the best place to eat and drink were. He told us Frankie's on Queen is where all the actors go to after their shows and is a gem (he was in Anne and we didn't even know!!) The staff are excellent, the food...oh my God. This review is for the cafe, not the bar. I don't drink, so no clue if the bar is any good, and you shouldn't trust me anyway! The cafe is terrific. Service is excellent. The food is really nice and is a great value especially in comparison to most other Queen West cafes. The omelettes are tasty, the pancakes are what you want in a pancake. She told me that she has been coming here for many years, even before it was called Sammy's. Has it been 30 years, she asked herself? Either way, she made it known that she is quite the regular. Very nice and friendly lady. These are the types of regulars that make the diner what it is. There is a sign in clipboard at the front, as soon as you walk in. You have to sign in as part of contact tracing in case there is an outbreak of COVID linked back to this establishment. Make sure you do not block the pathway from behind the bar, I didn't block it but a large family with several kids needed a place to stand in line and wait for a big table, because servers will get very mad at you and tell you "I NEED TO GET BY! DON'T BLOCK THE WAY!" But there is no where to stand when the lineup is 20 people deep. This is something to think about once the weather gets colder and there is a long lineup out the door. Perhaps takeout would be a better option than to be yelled at by the short haired waitress with tattoos? While I did not mind waiting and I had a book to occupy my time in the lineup and at the table before I was given the menu, I could see that this was obviously a rush time, prime time lunchtime at the diner, maybe others might be a little more impatient than me? I could watch a snail crawl for hours, patience is a virtue. The wait is very long to get seated and even longer to get food. While the food was pretty good, and the other server was very friendly, attentive and nice, I think they were short staffed that day and nothing is ever as instant as fast food. My advice would be to go here when you have the time to wait. Don't come here if you are in a rush. It's better to only come here when you have lots of time to wait.

We ordered "Chopped Steak and 3 Eggs", "7oz New York Steak and Eggs", "Eggs Benedict with Smoked Salmon", "Super Pancake Combo", "French Toast", "Garlic Bread" and side of "Coleslaw". The portions are generous and our food was delicious. We really enjoyed the food and ambiance. The service was a bit slow at times.
