We visited for the first time Saturday night, and it absolutely did not disappoint! From the moment we sat down, everything was exceptional. The bread alone set the tone for the evening. They brought out olive bread, sausage bread, and traditional Italian bread, all of which were excellent. It was accompanied by a beautiful tray of olives and butter, along with an incredible whipped ricotta and honey spread made by the owner, Frankie. It was honestly out of this world! For dinner, my husband ordered the short ribs with whipped mashed potatoes, and I had the macadamia nut-crusted Chilean sea bass served over a delicious risotto with mango and the absolute tastiest green beans. I have to give those green beans their own recognition! I've had green beans at countless restaurants, and they're usually just...green beans. These were cooked to perfection and seasoned so beautifully that they actually stood out as part of the meal. Everything on the plate was delicious. The drinks were 100%, and the staff was wonderful..friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. One of the highlights of the evening was listening to Frankie present the specials. The descriptions, excitement, and passion in his delivery immediately show how much pride and love he puts into his food. That kind of passion makes the entire dining experience even more special. We're so excited to have found a local restaurant that we can see ourselves frequenting. Highly recommend giving them a try! Welcome Frankie's 823 to the neighborhood. We decided to try something new. It's located where Villa Sorrento was. Our waitress was extremely friendly and helpful with our dinner selections. The Sangria & Wine were perfect. Loved the Complimentary variety of breads with oil and bruschet and olives. We had the rice balls with peas for our appetizer which was freshly fried and in a delicate tomato sauce. For dinner, we chose the Seafood Fra Diolvo which was so fresh and plentiful. The other we had a dinner special with Rigatoni and Salmon(grounded)which she called bolognese but had no meat. He loved it. A little extra rigatoni would been great. This was our second visit in two weeks, and it definitely won't be our last. The service has been outstanding both times, and the food is exceptional. The baked clams are some of the best I've had anywhere. This visit I ordered the Pork Chop Martini, and it was incredible--an enormous portion that was perfectly cooked and packed with amazing flavor. We were seated promptly at our reservation time and felt welcomed by the hostess. Once seated delicious bread, served with whipped butter and bruschetta were immediately brought to the table while we looked over the menu. For appetizers we had the risotto rice balls (3) and baked clams oreganata, that were fresh and flavorful. Our main course was chicken franchese and spinach linguine (in garlic and oil). All delicious!!The portion size was so large we went home with a doggie bag. Our table was in Jeannie's room where we felt a cozy family vibe. Absolutely phenomenal. As a major foodie that travels East & West, Frankies823 was without a doubt Fantastic. Not only the outstanding service but the food is amazing. Frankie goes over the abundance of great specials that you become overwhelmed of their menu. Tuna tartare special great, even the bread selection they give you is like being back in the city with prosciutto bread basket served with homemade butter, olives etc amazing. Ceasar salad great, baked clams excellent. Halibut special and surf & turf special with abundant 9oz filet mignon cooked perfectly and lobster tail tender and succulent for its size. Frankie is killing it. Last night was date night which was long overdue. I had the tuna tartar special which was a high quality tuna with avocado. It as fantastic! My entree was the sea bass (menu item) and I can honestly say it was the best sea bass I've had. We were seated quickly and got water and bread without having to ask for it. For appetizers my husband and I both had the special - lobster bisque with crabmeat. Huge portion and very good. For dinner, I had the Pappardelle pasta & boneless short rib. Really nice one dish meal, and the short rib had delicious flavor. My husband had the fresh fettuccine & filet mignon. He said for an Italian place, the steak was very good. Both dishes were very filling. For dessert I had the pistachio truffle and my husband had the chocolate flourless cake. Finally got back to a long standing neighborhood classic after many years courtesy of gift cards from a good friend. Accommodated us without a reservation and had a great spot near the fireplace. Restaurant was decorated nicely and service was excellent. Maple old fashion to start with our burrata salad with crispy prosciutto, accompanied by the delicious warm bread which they kindly provided extra! I recently went to villa sorrento and while I really loved this place recently. I usually recommend the prefix menu which is usually available Sunday through Thursday excluding holidays as in the past the food was excellent for a great price. My family went for my dad's birthday on a Saturday which was not during prefix menu and therefore it was very pricy for the same portion we all got a salad and an entree and we felt slightly disappointed in the quality and price. That being said the options were pretty varied and there were plenty of dishes that seemed delicious. But the ones we ordered (chicken dish , a fish dish , and a special which was a pasta dish) just didn't seem worth the heavy price tag. The service was great and attentive and the ambiance is nice as you sit nicely in a cute house transformed to a restaurant. read more

Me and my girlfriend just went to Villa Sorrento for Restaurant week and it was delicious. Usually I don't get my hopes up with restaurant week bc of smaller choices, smaller plates but it was delightful. The salads we ordered for our apps were some of the best we've ever had, the crispy half duck as my dinner was perfection. Only complaint would be 2 of my girlfriends tortellinis were undercooked to the point it was inedible. Maybe they didn't get submerged in the boiling water, it didn't matter though everything else was great and I will go back and dine with their regular menu very soon! read more

Our bread came without butter so we had to ask two people for butter. 10 min later, it finally came. Note that it was not at all busy. We waited over an hour for our main meal. We didn't order appetizers, only our main dishes (2 people). In the meantime, while waiting, no one checked up on us and no one offered to clean our table. I am doing this review for a friend that doesn't have a computer. On Saturday, 3/4/23, Pat had a surprise party for her granddaughter who recently graduated from Beauty School. We had a social event catered by Villa Sorrento this afternoon and we cannot express how amazing the delivery, set up and food was. Working with Sal (the owner) and Judy was amazing. Sal made some terrific suggestions on what dishes to offer our guests and he was right on! The veggies were amazing, sword fish delicious and not a bit of eggplant rollotini was left over. If he suggests his Gorgonzola salad, take it. The dressing was amazing. Cannot say enough good things about the restaurant or SAL! There was one party which was finished and one other table close to finishing. We had just taken the first bite of our appetizer and we said that we would order in a short time. It was 8:15. . We asked why they didn't advise us of this when the hours said a 10 pm close. My family threw my Baby Shower at Villa Sorrento yesterday and it was absolutely perfect! Their attentive service did not go unnoticed by guests and the food was exceptional! I had the Lasagna, which is something I rarely order but being pregnant, that's just how things go, and I MUST go get more! Haha. It was that good! The punch was delicious, wish I could have had about 5 glasses but baby ruled otherwise. The room was perfect for our guest count, about 50, and we were able to place open gifts right by the door for easy transport to the cars. We ordered family dinner for 6 so we would end up with some left overs. We had beef barley soup, goat cheese and beet salad, chicken parm and chicken Marsala. So good!! Service was good, food was average I got the mini rice balls and they were cold on the inside, you could tell they were frozen and quickly microwaved.
