Delicious as always, family style is the way to go! Everything was served fast, warm, and full of flavor. Kind, friendly staff that treats you like family. Adorable, cozy interior. A great place for a Greek meal, or takeout!

The best greek food in Long Island hands down....been coming here for a long time! Very warm and friendly staff

Mixed grill (selected the sausage, veal, and chicken souvlaki)

It was our first time here at the restaurant and I'm glad we did. Walking in, it felt like the place has been there for years and it has this charming fixture to the place and it was quite busy with probably a lot of regulars. We didn't have to wait far too long for table for two. We were greeted with free chick peas salad and some bread. The salad was really good and that was a great start to the rest of the meal. I ordered the sliced lamb and beef gyro sandwich for $13. Let me tell you, the portion of the gyro along with all the fixings especially the chopped lettuce was stupendous. Most important of all, the beef was absolutely tender and no dried corners whatsoever. We also got the mixed grill where we got to pick 3 proteins, so we selected the veal, sausage, and chicken souvlaki for $30. We upcharged that by $6 additional for a side of soup, choice of soft drink or coffee or tea, and a dessert. It was so worth it. All the meat especially the veal was so tender. Love it when a place knows how to cook the meat to perfection without overdoing it. The mixed grill came with rice pilaf and green beans. But definitely the star was the meats. When it came to dessert, we got the spomuni truffle ice cream with an upcharge of $3. All in all, amazing food, real down to earth excellent service and care and certainly will come back in the future.

Still my favorite Greek spot in the area. I have tried almost every local spot and Akropolis is the best. Their portion sizes and quality/flavor is unmatched. One of my new favorite items is the Greek Country Salad. It tastes so fresh and authentic. The grape leaves that come on top are phenomenal. The lemon chicken soup is always a favorite too in addition to the gyros. They also have the best tzatziki! Pick up orders are always ready quickly and the restaurant is always packed. Inside of the restaurant is very relax ambiance, no frills but still nice! The only downside is they are closed on Sundays.

I got lunch today in Nesconset at Akropolis, and it was delicious! The portions were humongous, and the prices were more than fair. I think the restaurant was family owned, at least it felt like it was. The staff were so friendly and super quick. I ordered a chicken gyro and an egg lemon soup. The soup was delicous it had big pieces of fresh chicken (you can tell it was definitely homemade) and my gyro was huge I ate maybe half of it (rest will be dinner) the yogurt sauce was honestly the best I've ever had! My Husband had the Mediterranean chicken he said it was delicious and his chicken was so tender (I didn't get a picture of his,he gets aggravated when I take my "stupid food pics" lol jerk ) and my son had a grilled cheese and fries. We all got drinks, and the bill was only 51 bucks. Honestly, that's cheaper than some crappy fast food meals!

the giant pile of string beans with my moussaka...which i ate in 6 bites
    Michele L.

So yesterday I had moussaka for the very first time as i have been wanting to try it. This place is my go to for greek food so, I ordered. It was literally delicious. So good I want more....but there was an issue; It came as a sandwich width and length piece and a gigantic pile of green beans. So 1/4 moussaka and 3/4 string beans. Gross. So I tried to call them today to see if we could do something different. I paid $24 for a pile of something I don't like with a small bit of something I love. A kid kept answering "hello? Hold!" ....I hold a few minutes and then tried again. Twice. So forget it I ordered from another place in the area. Lets see how theirs comes. pic below of the plate after I ate the moussaka UPDATE: I got moussaka from elsewhere. Doesnt even hold a candle to the one from Akropolis. Hopefully we can get them to more generous with the fantastic moussaka and more stingy with string beans lol

You'll NEVER have anything like this anywhere else! Loaded with potato, eggplant, cinnamon-scented meatsauce, creamy bechamel, breaded & fried. I'm STILL trying to figure out how they got that moist blend into perfectly crisp, fried ball. Pure Magic and I've never had anything so unique. ESP the Lamb platter-- this was my absolute Favorite! It had plenty of lamb meat, pita and the most insane Lemon Potatoes I've ever had in my life. This was enough food to feed me TWICE. I'm a HUGE lover of tziki sauce and I'm also extremely picky. If you can't make a good tziky sauce, then I ain't visiting! This sauce from Yeros had it all... the fresh dill, the cucumber slices -- I know Greek food and this was done right This also comes with a HUGE side salad which I find to be a meal in itself! The Rice bowl--- WOW! This portion was ALSO enough for two meals for me. The marinade in the Smokey tender Chared chicken shows!! After my meal at Yeros, I totally understand why they have 4.7 stars on Google reviews! They earned that spot! Prices are very fair and you're getting generous portions to justify. Get there now!!! I am beyond excited that this little discovery is right in my neck of the woods and you bet I'll be back!!

The prices were fair(ish) but everything else not so much. -Gyro Sandwich: 3/5, I will admit the meat was actually pretty delicious and there was a ton of it..but after that this was pretty forgettable. Shredded lettuce and onion thrown on top and called a sandwich. The fries it came with kind of sucked, and the yogurt sauce was nothing special. -Chicken over rice platter: 2/5, we actually laughed when we opened this. A single skewer broken in half over a bed of bland brown rice for $10. Not very enjoyable...at all. The sandwich combo also came with a drink so when I selected coke I assumed I'd be getting a can like most other Greek spots do...BUT you know what they say when you assume!! Instead I received a small paper cup Saran wrapped up with half the drink soaked into it..to top it off it was flat. Like drinking water with coke flavor. Needless to say we don't plan on coming back here when the craving for Greek returns.

You order at the counter and there are a few tables to sit at. Being this is my first time, I will mention while writing this in a little annoyed because I didn't look at the menu close enough but the owner at the counter shoulder and could've took me this when ordering. I ordered the lamb gyro which was overstuffed and delicious. He asked if I wanted lettuce tomatoes and onion and I said yes (this is usually on a gyro). Quickly scanning the menu advice, I didn't see any option to make the gyro a combination with fries, so I ordered the side of fries $6.50. While sitting to eat, I was looking over the menu more and noticed that there was an option to make any sandwich an original which means..... add fries instead of lettuce tomatoes for $1. I would've gone this route if I saw that. I guess live and learn, my mistake but he should've told me of that option. Next time and I will let him know this, but I will not let it negatively affect my review. (Update) another person just came in and ordered the same so I opened my mouth to let him know about the $1 option. The owner then said that it was fried in the sandwich). I never heard of that option but at least I know, you can only order the side of fried, they should have a combo price. The Gyro is amazing!
