    Falafel Sandwich Platter
    Rohini G.

I really liked the food, portions, and service at this place. The spot was out of gyro (super popular!) but I tried a falafel platter and a lamb kebab platter. The lamb was cooked well, seasoned well, as was the falafel patty. The side salad was very fresh and flavorful as was the dressing (likely not the most traditional with the radish but I enjoyed it nonetheless). The tzatziki was a bit watered down in flavors but was not overly sour, which I prefer. The onion rings were super crispy, given in a generous portion. I enjoyed this meal twice with the leftovers. The staff was also very friendly and brought food directly to our table. Overall, this will be a new regular.

When possible, it's smart to visit a place more than once before reviewing it. You'll get a better idea as to how said establishment runs, from service to food quality. So after visiting Voulapitta for the second time in the last bunch of months, I can vouch for their reasonably tasty...um, tastiness. Voulapitta isn't anything spectacular in style. It actually looks a little like a 90's pizza parlor or Chinese take out spot. But outdated digs isn't something to shy away from (hey, maybe you'll enjoy the nostalgia). Employees were friendly and better yet, (most of) the food does it justice. I mean if you want a true gyro, you'll need to wait for a Greek festival or find a Mediterranean acquaintance who can hook you up with some freshly-sliced goodness. Until then, Voulapitta does well with the gyro and served me nicely on both my visits. A respectable amount of meat was found inside the pita bread along with lettuce, onion, tomato and a deliciously creamy tzatziki sauce. For a few more dollars, make it a plate and get a side salad (great dressing!) along with your choice of seasoned rice or French fries (went with rice both times and was pleasantly pleased). On this past and more recent trip, a spanakopita (spinach pie) was also purchased. Here's where things veered off a tad. Put the ingredients of a gyro together and you're bound to have a good experience...I can't say the same for this spanakopita which wasn't bad, but paled in comparison to most other spinach pies I've had the liberty to digest. Perhaps that's why it was on a part of the menu that was almost hidden. Let's just stick to gyros. Overall, Voulapitta isn't about the frills. It's all about the gyro and that shows by how things jive on your tastebuds. Maybe the place isn't a gourmet wonder of grub, but if you're craving that pita-based handheld, Voulapitta will answer the call. Here's to the third round coming soon.

    Grilled Chicken over salad

This is the best Greek salad around! Seriously, I have never had a better dressing than this anywhere!!! My suggestion is to come in and sit down for this delicious salad. Yes, it's good for take out, but it's amazing eating it with your side of warm cut pita bread. Taking one of those tasty pita triangles and layering it with their thinly sliced marinated chicken (I like thin chicken) and topping it with that salty feta, perfectly dressed salad...yummmmmm. I crave this salad at least once a week. My husband enjoys the gyro meat, but me, I Chicken. My kids always get the chicken tender meal with fries, soup bread bowl and the gyros are scrumptious too.

Disgusting!!! Microwaved low quality food. Anyone saying that the food is good must be the same people that thinks fast food is fine dining

Instead of my usual gyro platter I ordered the grilled filet of flounder dinner and I think I discovered my favorite fish dish going forward. Flounder was cooked to perfection: moist, flatly and well seasoned. Served with a vegetable, rice and a side salad. My cousin, who lives in St. James invited a bunch of the family out for a meal. At the time it was about 45 minutes to an hour from where I lived. I thought it was fantastic, but I was disappointed that it was so far away. About 3 1/2 years ago, we moved closer to it and I've been there many times since. Today I grabbed a Gyro to go. However, I have had many great meals there. One of the great things about this restaurant is that they offer chickpea salad and pita bread when you arrive. The salad is fantastic. Somehow this type of service is a lost art? Their entrées are also really good. They have a fantastic egg lemon soup. I would also highly recommend the spanakopita as well as the falafel appetizer . For the main course, I would definitely recommend the mixed grill. If you're like me and I have trouble making up your mind this solves your problem. My wife is not a huge fan of Greek food. But she is a huge fan of burgers. The burgers here are outstanding as well as the fries. Close it out with the baklava and I think you are good to go. Definitely check this place out. It is one of the few places that still serve good quality authentic food with great portions at a reasonable price.

There was a help wanted sign on the door, the phone was ringing off the hook which was annoying, she was the only waitress delegated with serving all the tables, answering phones and dealing with takeout and pick up orders. I didn't ask although it appeared the manager or owner was no where to be found . Only the 2 cooks and 1 waitress. The only other negative is that they emphasis they have a 3.5% fee for using credit cards on their website landing page. Moving on to the positives the restaurant is in a small strip mall, nicely decorated, good food, fair prices, clean and they appear to have a full bar in the back. There were 4 of us and we started with falafel balls which are served with pita bread and sauce. We had the shrimp dinner which comes with a choice of soup or salad, broccoli and rice pilaf. We also had the chicken gyro pita, the chicken souvlaki pita with fries and the shrimp pita. All the food was good and again Christine did a great job juggling her duties. I would recommend them although I hope the owner reads this review as it seems like a good place to eat. I hope they take action, either hiring more staff or coming in themselves to take care of the customers. Otherwise I think customers will lose patience and go elsewhere.

You order at the counter and there are a few tables to sit at. Being this is my first time, I will mention while writing this in a little annoyed because I didn't look at the menu close enough but the owner at the counter shoulder and could've took me this when ordering. I ordered the lamb gyro which was overstuffed and delicious. He asked if I wanted lettuce tomatoes and onion and I said yes (this is usually on a gyro). Quickly scanning the menu advice, I didn't see any option to make the gyro a combination with fries, so I ordered the side of fries $6.50. While sitting to eat, I was looking over the menu more and noticed that there was an option to make any sandwich an original which means..... add fries instead of lettuce tomatoes for $1. I would've gone this route if I saw that. I guess live and learn, my mistake but he should've told me of that option. Next time and I will let him know this, but I will not let it negatively affect my review. (Update) another person just came in and ordered the same so I opened my mouth to let him know about the $1 option. The owner then said that it was fried in the sandwich). I never heard of that option but at least I know, you can only order the side of fried, they should have a combo price. The Gyro is amazing!
