Atmosphere is great and people are friendly, but that's where the food things end. Food is just very mediocre. Meat is bland, the sheer amount of cheese on things is excessive (eg. the prosciutto wrapped fontina) and things come out of the kitchen very slowly. read more

Love, love, love this place. It's very cozy and amicable, and the food is phenomenal. My husband and I were in for a treat. Our meal was started with a delicious fresh loaf of bread and a very nice olive oil and herbs with parmesan cheese. ( I had a second one, don't judge!) For an appetizer, we had the bruschetta a la Romana with fresh mozzarella cheese. Followed by a beautifully presented and exquisite meal. Andy, the Bartender, surprised us with a shot of limoncello which immediately flooded our memories of being back in Italy. The tiramisu was everything and more. Hadn't eaten at a Francesca's in years but remember it being really good. Popped in on a weeknight, there was an off putting smell throughout the restaurant, like mildew. Weird vibes overall too. We were in a hurry and our pasta was cooked fast so this place is not bad. First time to try Francesca Amici. Pasta was a bit too firm for me, only a few pieces of chicken was there but I liked the asparagus, nuts and cream (more like alfredo) not the basil cream sauce that was mentioned in the menu. We were given warm bread before our meal so at least we had something while we wait. Was looking forward to pizza too but did not see it in their lunch menu. They also have outdoor dining but it was too windy so we had to move inside. Server was polite and good. read more

Went in for dinner with my husband last night. We were greeted so kindly & warmly. The hostess led us to a great little booth, asked if we had dined there before (we haven't) & guided us through the menu & specials. Our server, Peter was wonderful!! I had the chicken with dates & my husband chose the veal medallions (per the hostess recommendations) both were fantastic! We shared a chocolate lava cake that was to die for. What amazing place to dine at. From beginning to end everything was just immaculate. We came for my wife's birthday lunch. We were able to get seated right away. I ordered their lunch special that came with minestrone soup, bruschetta an entree and tiramisu. All for $17. A very great deal. So they brought us our usual bread, it was soft, warm and very fresh. With the cheese and olive oil. Something you can never go wrong with. They brought us out our minestrone soup and bruschetta. I've had better minestrone but their bruschetta was so delicious and on point. I ordered the Tortellacci con Pollo. A cheese filled pasta with chicken, spinach in a basil cream sauce. Very delicious. And of course it ended with a very good tiramisu. The food was amazing and so was their service. Very attentive from beginning to end. Cleaning out our dishes in a timely manner and always checking up on us. It has definitely been awhile since I've received that type of service. You can tell that they take pride in all aspects of their business. I will with out a doubt be coming back here and become a regular. read more

Have been wanting to try this out. The place looks bigger than I thought. I went with a group of 4 and sat inside. The food was really good,we all liked what we ordered. Drinks and service also good. Would have liked to stay longer but the place closes at 10 and I felt like its regular crowed knew that. By 9 everyone was wrapping it up. read more

I just held my son and daughter in laws baby shower here on March 4th, 2023. From my first call to Nancy, their events coordinator, I was very impressed! She answered all my questions and made sure to check with me often. On the day of the event, the room was prepared the way I asked, and there were staff waiting and welcoming us. They made sure to make all of our guests feel welcomed and took their drink orders and were very polite and professional throughout the day. The next part was the amazing food! All of our guests were raving about it, and many told us they had found a new date night place ! I asked them not to forget my husband and I because we love it there too! Food was acceptable but prices are outrageous. An order of rigatoni with vodka sauce was $22.95 each for 2 kids The other entrées weren't much more So plain pasta should cost less. With the prices they charge a side salad should have been included. Don't waste your money. There are numerous Italian restaurants that offer excellent food at better prices. First time dining at Francesca's in Elmhurst for lunch and the bar looks very beautiful and elegant. My fiancé and I had a three course meal. We started with the shrimp appetizer the sauce was on point! We split the chicken francese I asked to switch the beans for spinach. The service was on point! Their knowledge and suggestions were amazing for desert we had a banana bread pudding (also they recommended) The manager Edwin stopped by our table and made small talk. Love this place! It was my first visit. The food was outstanding. Lemon shrimp and Sicilian chicken..yum! The entire staff was so warm and friendly. I took my 86 year old mother for lunch. They were closing early on a slow Monday night - but did seat us 45 minutes before the posted closing time. The food was delicious and the wine was fabulous. Kudos to the staff for their service, having just received permission to close early from ownership. It is refreshing to have employees actually want business. read more

Since it's been over a year since we had dinner here for Thanksgiving we went back. The food now is not very good. It was buffet style which we did like. the vegetables were good and the turkey was good but everything else was not. The entire dessert table tasted disgusting. The service was great!! This is one of my favorite restaurants in the area, and I try to take the fam for occasions such as birthdays, graduations, or other special occasions. It's such a lovely ambiance inside, very clean and relaxing lighting with old photos all around the dining room. Their menu changes weekly, I believe, and so it's a bit of an adventure what you'll be eating which is dicey with a picky family like mine, BUT they do offer dishes off menu such as basic spaghetti with marinara which appeases even the pickiest eaters. During the pandemic I'd been wanting to support them and for dinner one night we did the family dinner to go -- we got a tray of spaghetti and meatballs, rosemary chicken with potatoes, bruschetta, and tiramisu that fed five people dinner one night, as well as plenty of leftovers for dinner the next night. Their tiramisu is the best I've ever had, drizzled with chocolate and so airy. Pick up was super easy, though I did have to go in as the phone lines were super busy on a Friday night to get curbside pick up, but I didn't mind. read more

We went here to celebrate a family birthday. Cocktails were yummy. All our entrees arrived hot and were delicious. I had the linguine con vongole which had a delicious spice to it. Others had the halibut, penne with vodka sauce & sausage & the frutti di mare. Everyone cleaned their plates.
