I have to agree with the other positive comments about Alex and Four Points Tree Service. I just had him and his crew work on nine trees in my front and back yards. One tree needed drastic pruning, taking down two major trunk -like limbs. The tree is near the house and the crew expertly removed the limbs without damaging a thing. Alex is accessible, on time, and completes what he says he will do in a timely manner. He is fully insured and has an artistic eye. I am a first time home owner and therefore dependent on reviews to find the right service providers. I selected two 5 star businesses to bid on tree and stump removal. Here are the results: Alex at Four Points arrived on time for the estimate, his competitor in Alamo arrived 1 1/2 hours late. Alex at Points surveyed the work and offered next day support (Friday) or Saturday if needed, his competitor in Alamo offered now or never. The competitor also indicated that my Olive tree was second only to petrified wood and only he had the equipment to remove the stump;of course the estimate was petrified as well! . When Alex finishes the job at your house consider giving his business card to your neighbors like I did. . What a great way to say Thanks for a job well done!!! read more

Alex and his crew did a good job on helping me remove several palm trees and grind the stumps away. Alex showed up on time to give me the estimation for the job and his price is very reasonable. He was able to get his crew quickly come over to my house for the job in the afternoon and the next day. Everybody is friendly and easy to work with. They cleaned up before leaving. After reading lots of reviews on Yelp for tree trimming, I was just about to spend top dollar. Then my neighbor recommended Four Points because he had used them and they saved him about $1,000. I emailed Alex at Four Points to get an estimate, he showed up the next day right on time, surveyed all my trees and offered a fair price with just a few day's notice. All the other services needed a week to a month lead time. And his team did a great job. They worked on about 8 trees (oak, acacia, xylosma, oleander) and they all look clean, thinned, shaped and balanced (or they and their stump are gone altogether). I'm going to head over to my neighbor Mike and hand him a bottle of something. I saved over $1000 going with Four Points and I'm feeling pretty good about that. read more

Stay away from Four Points Tree Service. They aren't licensed, bonded or insured even though they tell you that they are. Very unethical business practices. Demanded payment before job was done. Didn't finish the job - hid wood in the creek hoping we wouldn't find it. Then threatened us with Labor Commission when we only paid for the work that was completed. If you want the details, read below.... I called 4 Points to get an estimate and Alex came out. We had a Bay Tree that had fallen in the creek and needed to be removed. He assured me that they do this all the time - no problem. The quote was to remove the entire tree from the creek area, grind it and dump the wood chips in an area that we needed them. They had a crew of about 4. The first issue Alex told me is that they were having trouble cutting through the main trunk of the tree. He said there were nails in the tree and asked if they could leave the trunk where it was. This was the main part of the job, but we agreed they could leave it there. Next he said it was hard hauling the rounds out of the creek. My husband mistakenly told him he could leave a few rounds for fire wood. Next thing we know, there is a huge pile of rounds in the creek area. We said they needed to haul most of them up and grind them. Alex then asked for a check so he could pay his guys. He assured me he would finish the job. I mistakenly paid him and they immediately left. When I checked what they had done, I found that they had taken the rounds and hid them in the ivy in the creek! I put a stop payment on the check. Alex didn't show again until he found out there was a stop payment. I gave him a week to complete the job which he didn't meet. In the meantime I was still waiting for a copy of the license and insurance. Some guy texted me a picture of a license that didn't have Alex's name or company on it. When I talked to the licensing board, they told me not to let him or his workers on my property and that it was illegal to use someone else's license. In the meantime, I hired another company to finish the work. I paid 4 Points the difference between what I paid the other company and what Alex had quoted me. In the meantime, I get a complaint from the Labor Commission saying that Alex claims that he was my personal employee and that I owe him back wages. Totally bogus way of trying to get money for a job you didn't do. read more

Wish I could say I had a good experience with Alex and his tree service.... wish for myself and for my trees. Might be good for tree removal, but would never use for tree maintenance and am so regretful that I did. Arrived on time and offered to work the next day, but he essentially "topped" all of our trees, which left them looking extremely ugly with abnormal regrowth. A real arborist would never do this. It is painful to look at my trees. May be good for tree removal but would never use for maintenance unless you know exactly what you want (i.e., exactly which cuts). I also found him unprofessional as cleanup was not as promised and I ended up cleaning up a large amount. read more

Excellent Service and work. Alex was professional and helpful, as well as reasonably priced. The crew was on time and conscientious. We had several redwoods trimmed, along with a number of other trees, and an incredibly tall tree in the back of our property that they trimmed half-way. Even our neighbors commented on the skill of the workers given the height of the tree an the amount of work the crew accomplished over a couple of days. I will hire them again when the time arises.
