Juan's Landscaping has been trimming our trees for years and both the price and the service are always excellent. His team is easy to work with and they work very hard the whole time they're on site. And when they're done my yard looks cleaner than when they started, even in areas where they didn't trim anything. I highly recommend Juan's Landscaping for tree trimming! read more

Juan's services was goodand glad we used him to cut our trees in front of our house. My parents were the ones who referred Juan's services as they found him on Home Advisor. Glad I found him on Yelp, too! They cut my parents three big trees in San Leandro and it was done very professionally and they cleaned up well. I received a quote from Juan the next day after my parents gave me his info and I gave him a call. Even if he is from Concord, he made his way to our home in Hayward. Here's my experience with him: I received a decent quote from him for our two trees and bush stumps. I was actually skeptical as he never got back to me during the week when he could do it. I texted and called him but he didn't respond. I guess he was busy working on other homes? He did call finally within the same day and said he would be here Saturday around 10a but he was late by over an hour. He did call me after and said he was on the way but I did have to call to see what happened to him. If he knows he will be late, he should contact the customers. It's only courteous, right? He only came with one other guy and they went right to business. He was actually friendly and chatted with us after. I could tell this was not going to take a long time to do. They used a big shredder and a machine that eats the tree trunk! It was fun watching! They cleaned up well. My advise if you shred your trees to remove your cars far away as that trunk eating machine spits a lot of debris. That was the fastest service (an hour) that ate my money!! Haha Pleased with his services and I will definitely call him back for a quote still as he does landscaping and cement work but I need to save some mula first! [25/100] read more

Juan's "crew" does a marvelous job with things like tree removal. But I would exercise caution when looking at more elegant projects. I "contracted" (he wouldn't sign one - shame on me) for a small retaining wall. The wall is okay, but the details of the finished work were ignored. Left for me to solve were joints where retaining wall meets an existing wall - a big, ugly gap. Also, the French drains he installed drain to nowhere, and the steps were installed with obviously marred material. When I last saw Juan (to collect payment), he promised he would be back within the week to clean up the site, and remediate some of my structural concerns. Never saw him again. Good luck on your next project, whatever it may be. read more

Our neighbors hired these guys to cut a tree in their backyard... This tree was right on the fence, a large portion of the tree branches coming over to our side and what not...we have a large gazebo swan canopy (just purchased and put up maybe a week or two ago--brand new and cost 243$ on Amazon) that was near the fence by that tree they were cutting down... they left our side of the yard filled with sticks and branches all over the ground...an exceptionally large pile of sticks and debris on top of our shed (shed is almost directly beneath the tree they were cutting)...damaged part of our fence and damaged our canopy beyond repair.. I took photos the same day this happened...and im so glad i did We called the business owner to clear the matter up. He agreed to come by and check out the damage.... While inspecting the damage, he felt that the tree branch couldnt have fallen onto the canopy, since the tree was closer to the shed than the canopy gazebo---- mind you this was a giant tree with long branches expanding past the area of the trunk and denied that the damage to the fence was from his workers the business owner said he was going to talk to his workers and asked for a few days to resolve the issue... More then a few days went by and no response from the owner....We had to call him, again. After he finally answered.... Juan ultimately agreed to pay for the damage and stated he would stop by after work in a fewfays***based on his tone and attitude, you could tell he was not happy-which is fair, cuz it sucks when your employee damage property and you as the business owner have to take care of it, but you do atleast get to write off the expense at the end of the year when you do your taxes*** He eventually did drop off the check, but we did have to call him back and forth for over a week about it to ensure it would be resolved Im happy they did the right thing and paid for the damage but we wont be hiring them anytime soom read more

We hired Juan's company to remove a large redwood tree in my neighbor's back yard. The tree was on the fence line, with about 15' feet of clearance, on either side, to the two houses. The neighbor insisted that we hire a licensed and insured contractor, which Juan is. Given the difficulty and risks involved in removing this large tree in a tight spot, I would never have hired an unlicensed company. Juan's bid was very reasonable, especially compared to a couple of other big, established companies I had bid the job. The work was scheduled and completed within a week of my getting the bid. The crew was very professional, and super conscientious. The stump grinding and overall cleanup was excellent. Our solar panels are now safe, and we've added a lot of value to the neighbor's property. I will hire Juan's Landscaping and Tree Service to work on our other neighbor's redwoods (curse the developer who planted redwoods in backyards!) read more

Juan is the nicest and honest man I have met. after having many companies come give me estimates. He was the only one who gave me his honest opinions that were in my benefit. He gave me options and suggestions that made my property look like a brand new home. His design ideas are amazing. He stands by his work and he made sure I was happy with the overall project. Terrible overall experience. TREES - From the other reviews, the people he works with to do tree removal, were excellent. Arrived on time. Removed the trees. Didn't damage our fence. LANDSCAPING - What a mess. The images he showed to sell me on his work and the job he did was vastly different. Guess that's what we get to taking the lowest bid. I wish he were honest. Another review stated that they needed to redo the work. We didn't redo the work but needed to spend hours fixing it to our specification. What he stated he would do and what he did was ridiculous. He made lots of excuses for shoddy work. JUAN - He himself required constant project management. Fortunately I was home to do so. He did not keep his word. From the days or times he stated he would arrive. To what he said he would do. He would spend a day or two then disappear to another project. Which is fine. Just keep your word. Lack of communication was a series issue. His workers were better. Asking them to do a specific task was far more efficient than going through Juan. Would not recommend to anyone (unless cutting trees) and certainly would not use his services. read more

I am very satisfied with their work. I would hire them again if I had another tree to remove.

Juan's Landscaping did an amazing job removing 2 very large (but dead) trees on my property. It was a very tricky job and they did it masterfully. Juan's crew did a great job pruning a large Monterrey Pine that was at the corner of my property and shading three other properties, as well. They showed up on time and did everything I asked, did it well, and also took out an old volunteer & stump. (Note--I had a few arborists come by prior, so I knew what was the proper treatment for the tree). The price was very reasonable. The crew was careful with the adjacent properties, and those neighbors were happy, too. I will be asking Juan for some more job help in the future! read more

Juan's Landscaping is always great and quality work. Is always able to update you and give fair pricing. Would highly recommend.

Price for the job was reasonable. The crew showed up on time, did the job, cleaned up, and left. My complaint is that we paid for stump grinding which they partially did but not 4-6 inches into the ground for both trees. They left parts of the two stumps untouched or not fully ground which we didn't notice until we removed all of the sawdust. I attempted to contact Juan to see if they could stop by to fully grind the stumps but no response. The service promised was not the service delivered. read more

Juan's Landscaping manager is a very rude man, especially to senior women. I requested him to move his shredder truck further away from my house, to avoid dust in my home, he just flatly said "No." and argued, " talk to the landlord." I called her, and she said it took months to get them to come and she doubted he would listen to her anyway. After he said "why don't you move, you don't have to live here", I decided to post this review. I am a long-time annual renter, so not responsible for employing him, but I believe my landlady will not be pleased with this comment. This kind of harassment is not worth it for any price. read more

My neighbor contracted these guys to remove a pair of redwood stumps that were left by another contractor (who was not licensed & never paid his guys). As any good contractor would they saw the palm tree stumps left by the same aformentioned guys that also worked on my house. We agreed on a price to remove 5 palm tree stumps. After they finished at my neighbors house, they moved their gear to my yard. They have their own dumptruck, stump grinder & tools. The job was completed by sundown! They are two brothers, Juan & Jorge Hernandez. They work hard, care about the job & there were no communication issues. They said they do alot of work in our area (Danville). I don't even know where to start.... A very large tree in my backyard split and half of it fell onto a neighbors house... I was pretty panicked. After receiving quotes for the removal, Juan wasn't the highest, he wasn't the lowest, but his explanation about what needed to be done not only made the most sense, but was extremely calming. When the guys showed up to do the work i am still in AWE at how efficiently and quickly they went about it and completely handled the task. in two days the tree was not only gone, but the yard cleared of any debris. I highly highly recommend Juan. read more

We've been working with Juan Hernandez for a while now in the East Bay. He has been upfront with communication, which is very important to a business like Rockery - we are a hauling service for base rock, gravel, and do landscape removals. We have helped Juan with a variety of things, most recently a successful demo of concrete and asphalt. From a business perspective, Juan is professional, coordinated, and pays attention to detail. He can handle big projects and small ones with the same level of care. We look forward to working with him even more in the future. Based on his positive reviews, we expect him to be busy! so Juan and his team came yesterday and did a fabulous job! Two of them finished all the work within 3 hours: tree trimming for 2 trees, tree removal, cut all the branches for fire and clean all the green debris in the backyard. It was not an easy project, because the removed tree was hanging into my neighbor's fence. So it was really hard to control where the branches would go. \ In summary, 1. They worked really hard! and efficiently. No wasting of time. 2. They did all the work they promised to do, even tiny little things. Good memory and great attitude. 3. Good communication and professional. They would get your permission to do stuff and would tell you why and how they would do it. 4. Clean up 100% all the trash. They cleaned all the trash and leftovers, even the sawdust and whatever was left on the path between the truck and my backyard. 5.Again, really reasonable price for the project. They are the most honest and hardworking tree guys I've ever seen. Will definitely hire them again in the future. read more

He called and gave a nice price for work that we need done! Our family recommended hom and saw work he did which was good.

I was VERY impressed with Juan's service. We had them out to remove 7 palm trees, all on the border of a property line and all at least 35/40 ft all or taller. Juan's estimate came in at the best price of the services we talked to and we had seen the work they did with a neighbors palm tree removal which impressed us then, but the work they did today was extremely well done. Watched them do some of the work and could appreciate the planning an ingenuity that went into the overall job We were scheduled within a week of the initial estimate, and they came out on a Saturday and within 6 hours had removed all 7 of the trees and did an excellent job of cleaning up the mess afterwards. Throughout the job they were also very communicative about what their plans were. Even if something minor came up that had to alter the process they would check in with us which was appreciated. If you're plagued by constant palm fronds dropping and are interested in getting them removed (or any tree removed really), these are definitely the guys to go to. read more
