    We ate here for breakfast twice and dinner once when saying at the lodge. The breakfast buffet is 100% worth it and has everything you could want! The scrambled eggs are actual eggs and not the powder ones you typically see. Still moist and not dried out. The bacon is crispy (sausage available if that's your thing too). They have a vegan stew and breakfast meatballs (never had these before) and both were full of flavor. They have your typical bennys although I find the bread gets a bit soggy in the food tray warmers. There is a yogurt/oatmeal bar with all the toppings you could want, fresh fruit, donuts (these were AMAZING), charcuterie, assorted pastries. Lots of options for whatever mood you are in! Dinner- also well worth it and reasonable! We got two drinks, one that was like a Bloody Mary (very tasty!) and a sangria (best one I've had in a year). For dinner we got the short rib braised pappardelle (the truffle is amazing I. It and the short rib is juicy). We also got the beef strip loin which came with carrots and mashed potatoes. The beef strip loin was a perfect medium rare and came Roth two large pieces. For sides we got garlic focaccia (not really what I think focaccia is but it was still tasty! More like garlic bread) and rosemary polenta. I love polenta but it was a LARGE serving. For a hotel restaurant we were very impressed!

    Update: Breakfast - This morning they were serving a delicious buffet for $29 OR a la carte menu options! I went for ordering their Omelet of the day which was bison sausage, cheese, onions and I added spinach to it! It also came with potatoes and it was yummy!!! Dinner - Eating at Forte was like eating at a scratch kitchen in the middle of Italy. That's how delectable the food was from beginning to end. The restaurant smelled of delicious home cooked meals the minute you stepped in. They have a variety of options from pizzas to salads to steak and pastas. I tried the short rib pappardelle pasta. It was rich in flavor, not too heavy, a perfect meal that I could eat many times again. I'm looking forward to trying this restaurant again.

    Nice quaint restaurant with a beautiful view of the mountains, awsum Pepperoni pizza-wood fired. Yummy ceasor salad. Can't wait to come back!

    Amazinggg!! The chef is so kind and will defiantly make you what you like. We were able to get halal chicken wings and a delicous margarita pizza for lunch. Defiantly recommend the place.

    This restaurant was in the hotel that we stayed at in Kananaskis, the food was delicious. The pappardelle is better than words.

I try to eat vegetarian in the morning, and I'm allergic to wheat, which makes dining out a little more complicated than it should be. My boyfriend found this little café outside Banff, and honestly, it turned out to be one of the better food surprises of the trip. We both ordered the Pad Thai -- one loaded with extra protein, one without. I had low expectations. I've eaten enough Thai food to know that about 7 or 8 out of 10 places overcook the noodles. They become soft, mushy, and fall apart the moment you touch them. Not here. The noodles were cooked perfectly -- still chewy with a nice bite. The peanut sauce was another pleasant surprise. It wasn't overly sweet or heavy like many North American versions. The balance was just right. The spice level was mild, which I appreciated because the dish actually tasted like Pad Thai instead of being buried under a mountain of chili. The vegetables were generous, fresh, and plentiful. My boyfriend's chicken portion wasn't huge, but there was plenty of tofu, which made sense since the dish is originally designed as a vegetarian option. The chef seemed to add the chicken as an extra rather than making it the star of the plate. The portion looked manageable when it arrived. It was not. I couldn't finish mine, and my boyfriend had to rescue the remaining noodles. Pad Thai: 4/5 The Vegan Berry Scone was light, not greasy, and not overly sweet. The strawberries and blueberries added little bursts of tartness, and there was a nice oat flavor throughout. My only complaint? It might have been too healthy. A tiny bit more sweetness could have taken it from "good" to "wow." Vegan Berry Scone: 3/5 The Vegan Chocolate Cake was exactly what a chocolate lover would want. Rich dark chocolate flavor without being sugary or overwhelming. It was a little dense and heavy, but in a comforting way that made me keep reaching for another bite. If the cake itself were slightly more moist, it would be nearly perfect. That said, making something both vegan and gluten-free that tastes this good deserves credit. Vegan Chocolate Cake: 4/5 What really impressed me was the overall value. Since the café is outside the main Banff tourist zone, prices are much more reasonable, parking is easy, and they offer a surprisingly large selection of gluten-free and vegan options. For someone like me, who usually spends half the meal interrogating the menu, that alone is worth celebrating. Final Rating: 4/5 Good food, fair prices, easy parking, and plenty of options for people with dietary restrictions. I'd absolutely come back. In fact, if I'm passing through again, I probably won't bother looking for another place.

It's shareable between 3-4 people, but I wouldn't order it again. 2. Canmore Pasta Bison Ravioli (3/5) - Served with a creamy au jus sauce, sautéed mushrooms, and parmesan. I didn't try this one personally, but those who did said it was just "OK." It comes with one slice of garlic toast. 3. Chicken Nirvana (4/5) - A coconut-based gravy with ginger, green chili, curry leaves, basmati rice, and Kerala parotta. Atlantic Salmon (5/5) - Paired with a tarragon leek lemon emulsion and vegetables. I rarely order salmon at non-Japanese restaurants, but this was an exception. The salmon was perfectly cooked -- not dry at all -- and the emulsion brought everything together beautifully. The service was OK. The server was pleasant, and our drinks never touched the bottom. However, we had an early dinner time, and they were out of two items on the menu. Would I come back? Maybe. I'll explore other places before coming back.
